People in the card generation threads frequently like to toy around with alternate secrets, and more specifically - with secrets for classes besides the Paladin, Hunter, and Mage.
I'm wondering what implicit and explicit rules people have noticed about secrets. Here are the ones I've seen.
All secrets for a single class have the same mana cost (thus allowing them to be secret)
1-mana secrets have 2-mana effects
2-mana secrets have 4-mana effects
3-mana secrets have 5-mana effects (with the exception of Ice Barrier, which is equivalent to a 3-mana healing)
With the addition of Mad Scientist, it also seems unlikely that Blizzard will introduce a class with 4-mana secrets - the potential to break curve is just too great.
You can have a total of 5 different secrets in play at the same time
Secrets take the place of instants from MTG and WOWTCG, and the addition of future secrets will probably promote more control style decks that don't require board presence to win.
5 Different Secrets isn't true Check out players using Cho and Mad Scientist, they had 9 secrets active.
No there is an actually limit on the number of secrets you can have out, it is 5. Mages have a total of 6 secrets but can only have 5 out at a time. Cho has nothing to do with it.

Hunter only!
Except armor is better than healing as it is never wasted.
I didn't know that one. I've never had the opportunity to cast that many secrets while playing Mage.
This will never happen.

Also note he meant 5 per person at one time.
