This deck was built to counter Maexxna's annoying hero power.
The general strategy is to use your Battle Cry cards to accomplish three things:
1. Get Alexstraza in your hand 2. Fill Maexxna's board with 1 attack minions 3. Stall until you can play Alexstrasza.
Winning:
1. Alexstrasza (Set your health to 15 to buy you two turns, as she only swings for 7 per turn) 2. Alexstrasza (Set her health to 15, effectively hitting her for 30) 3. Charge Minions
Some games you will have to concede, I am currently 3-1 with this deck Vs. Heroic Maexxna. If you can fill her board with 1 attack creatures you win, I typically use a combination of removal and leeroy for this. (leeroy bounces back to our hand after it gives her 2 1/1's) Once you have her board filled, find Alexstrasza before you fill your hand.
I just exchanged a few cards that I didn't have and put some like Poison Seeds and Onyxia. I tried to maintain board control during all game with my health around 10 or 5. I won the game the turn she drew her last card.
Surprised nobody's mentioned or used Paladin's Aldor Peacekeepers. With one in hand, you could care less what they summon, or bother attempting to kill anything, just reduce their attack to 1. Silencers are for the Taunters.
Easiest time I had with Maex - was with the following deck with no legendaries.
Hold off and heal with Voodoo, Holy Light, etc. Don't both dropping Charge Minions unless it's in your best interest to do so. Use Aldor Peacekeeper to reduce minions attack to 1. Humility if you can't spare Aldor for a 'creature slot' or a quick giant drop Use silencers to silence taunters.
Once their board is full of 1's due to Aldor, continue to heal until you have the following cards - Guardian of Kings, any other healing minion, and any charge minion. Coldlight Oracle helps with deck diving for this. Every turn drop Guardian of kings. Alternate dropping a 3 or less charge minion, (Arcane Golem works the best) and another healing minion. Slow grind, easy win.
(Ideal starting hand would probably be Voodoo doctor, Aldor peacekeeper, Coldlight Oracle).
