Hi all :D I'm very pleased to introduce my first custom class. As you can see, it's a work in progress as it goes up through LoE, with deck recipes that only include Basic and Classic cards... I'll be updating this post and bumping the thread whenever I make a significant change.
I appreciate any and all feedback :) Thanks so much for checking this out!!
EDIT 5/19/17: Old Gods and Karazhan have been added, as well as a whole new Cards by Synergy section and a Card Spotlight section!! I've also reorganized the sets by rarity, added the Justicar hero power (whoops, totally forgot that!) and revamped the Classic deck recipe (thanks to DKPaladinMDL I was able to play test it a bit!). Also a HUGE shoutout to The_Odinson for being a fantastic class creation editor/mentor. This class is what it is because of his guidance :D
Wardens of Winterspring
a custom class by Livienna
Lil’lyn Windsong has taken her father’s place as the chief of the Wardens, and is a fierce, loyal leader. Stalwart in her devotion to the Goddess Elune, Lil’lyn relies on Elune’s guiding Light to show the way forward. The Wardens use ancient elemental magic to Chill their enemies and are adept at archery and mastery of beasts.
Background
Original Lore:
Many years ago, a select group of night elves led by Weoryn Windsong sought sanctuary in a snowy valley east of their homeland after the Great Sundering. They soon learned that they had inadvertently settled in a land of perpetual winter. Not ones to give up hope, they named their valley Winterspring, and dubbed themselves its Wardens.
Since those times, the night elves welcomed various other groups into their fold, especially Gnomes, Humans, and Draenei, all of whom were seeking sanctuary within the natural protection of the valley. Calling on the knowledge of all their combined ancestors, The Wardens of Winterspring took in masteries of both hunters and spellcasters. They are adept at marksmanship and bestial mastery, and they practice an ancient magic connected to the elemental powers of Air and Ice. They also have a distinct advantage over their enemies due to their unwavering ability to make good use of what is dealt them, while others are left burning their resources. Strong and wise, the Wardens are ready to defend Winterspring from the forces that threaten it.
Class Play Style:
The Warden is a versatile class and can thus be played in many different ways. A control Warden uses removal to control the board and overpower their opponent in the late game with hard-to-remove minions and burst damage. An aggressive Warden uses these burst spells in addition to a strong early game, often taking advantage of the class’s Beast synergy. The Warden also supports a Mill style of play with ways to add cards to your opponent’s hand and draw cards for your opponent. And with good ways to heal their hero, Wardens are able to keep up with aggressive opponents that benefit from extra draws. Finally, the Warden-only keyword “Chill” (introduced in the Expert/Classic set) helps to control the board with a damage-over-time mechanic.
This Classic Warden deck is a mid-range build utilizing Beast synergy and the Chill mechanic for board control. Includes basic and classic cards.
2x Snowy Owl
2x Ethereal Offering
2x Dire Wolf Alpha
2x Sabertooth Stalker
1x Frigid Form
2x Chilling Gaze
2x Winter's Arrow
2x Winterspring Stag
2x Stalwart Sentry
1x Frosted Longbow
2x Ranger's Crossbow
1x Tempestria's Blessing
2x Glacial Archer
2x Stranglethorn Tiger
2x Iceshard Elemental
2x Frostmaul Pack Leader
1x Princess Tempestria
Mill Warden:
This Mill Warden deck is a fun build that stalls the game and wins in fatigue after making the opponent draw their deck quickly. Includes basic and classic cards.
It looks like you put a lot of work into this. Its very well designed and some of the bonus stuff like the Lore and decks are really cool ideas I wish more people posted. I think your keyword is interesting, but my favorite part is the Hero Power, really cool. The Beast themes and cards a very good, though slightly under represented, and its definitely weird seeing Elemental before Un'goro is out, but its not a bad thing. The 'Spirit of the X' cards is a cool cycle as well.
Its a shame you haven't finished this, I'd be interested in seeing what kind of plans you had for WotOG and MSoG. I hope you finish this at some point.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of the women.
Fascinating class! I love the "group hug" mechanics, and the multiple powerful build offered by the class.
At first, I was not sure what to make of the Chill effect - it's flavorful, but I'm not sure if it's too good, too slow, or just right - but after some studied observation, it seems to be in the Goldilocks zone, just right.

Thanks, hehe. I certainly intend to keep updating the class, for sure :D

Thanks! Yeah, it certainly took some finesse to find that balance with Chill, but I really wanted to figure out a compelling way to make damage over time happen in Hearthstone. Appreciate you checkin it out :D
I absolutely love this class. It ties in the Chill mechanic so well! I'm glad you added the deck recipes, it shows that you know what direction this class could go in. The versatility is just awesome.
I think my favorite card from each set would have to be:
Ranger's Crossbow - Basic - So simple! But so VERY effective xD
Stalwart Sentry - Expert - Its extremely versatile, dealing damage to objectives or protecting your face. Really cool.
Sapphiron's Servant - Naxx - Well, seeing as this is the only Naxx card I can say that its really cool and is nicely balanced.
Prideful Saber Pup - GVG - This flavor is perfect, and the effect is really cool on the little cutie
Fervent Worshipper - BRM - Deceptively strong, this card would totally see a lot of play.
Crystalsong Wanderer - TGT - While its effect is random it gives some SERIOUS value to your hand.
Avalanche - LoE - This is an awsome stall card, allows you to get your bearings, and when played right, take out high value targets.
Also want to say that the Spirit spells are really cool too! I'm glad there is also underlying themes in this!

Also - Old Gods and Karazhan will be added this week. woohoo!!!
Please finish this class. Following Cold is just an alternate version of Following Flame. Also, where the heck is your Slayer thread? I've never watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but I made a card for it anyway.

d'awwww this is so sweet!!!! Love it. :D
I haven't made a Slayer thread yet hahah, still haven't totally finished it up. And I'm adding Kara and Old Gods for Warden very very soon!!! xD
I never really looked into this thread further than the hero and hero power but thank god i finally did! This is an amazing class with great flavour and amazing cards. There are just so many great things about this from how the thread is organised and the flavour of the cards and class itself to the briliant ideas and many archetypes. I'm really exited to see where you're gonna go with MSG and JTU, keep up the good work!
Edit: Was that card spotlight thing always there? I'm just curious because i've had it in my newest custom expansion and want to use it for my upcoming class again and i don't want it to look like i just blatantly ripped that off from this :(

I just loved this. Windfury gains a lot of sense in this class, as well reminds me a bit when I play with Tyrande sor of.
For this Un'goro new season Wardens should have a QUEST with the Dreamweavers.
Please finish this class. Following Cold is just an alternate version of Following Flame. Also, where the heck is your Slayer thread? I've never watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but I made a card for it anyway.
Wished to be pink.
Then did.
Then fired myself.
