as a 2/2 taunt, basically a Frostwolf Grunt, which never sees play in any meta even in basic collection only deck. Unplayable.
as a 4/4 how is this any different than Evil Heckler or Ancient Watcher + Sunfury Protector combo? like saving 2mana for Paladin can swing any big damage or threats or even a combo.
as a 6/6, well it's just 1 minion taunt. If any deck can clear Stegodon or Sen'jin Shieldmasta on turn 4, they will have no problem clearing 6/6 on turn 4 as well (turn1 Mistress of Mixtures, turn2 weapon, to get health down for heal to work, turn3 Earthen Ring Farseer), and it's even more easier to clear 1 taunt in later turns anyway.
Free dust.
Probably the dumbest thing I've read on these forums lol. Your last point pretty much proves you have no place even judging the card because you obviously don't understand the game well enough to formulate a rational opinion. a 6/6 is MUCH MUCH better than a 2/6 BECAUSE IT FUCKING HAS 6 ATTACK. 6>2, and 6 attack kills basically anything it attacks.
So, I played them lately in a midrange deck at rank 2 eu, and you can make them definitely work , and it’s not that hard( i played with Scalehide, Chillblade Champion, Truesilver, DK Uther incl. Countess Ashmore) . The main reasons why that card doesn’t perform that well is :
1.) It’s meta dependent. In a meta with Slow OTK decks like Druid or Shudderwock, or Bigmage it’s very hard to upgrade the Spellstone ( You can wait until they play a bigger minion and lower your HP with Truesilver) . Vs those matchups it is probably better to play him as a 2/2 , since a 6/6 will get removed anyway.
2.) For me the main reason why this card doesn’t work is Paladins abysmal carddraw . I tried Lay on Hands, Acolyte, Hammer of Wrath, even stuff like Gnomish Investor, or Thalnos. Only Call to Arms , and Contess Ashmore are somewhat viable. I mean you could play a more Control oriented Deck where you don’t need tempo and draw , in that case Acolyte or LoH might work , but Control Paladin doesn’t really have a lategame wincondition yet . ( The Uther OTK is not good)
But still, you realize very often an unbuffed Spellstone sitting in your hand waiting for a healcard.
All in all, not a bad card , but the support, and the right meta isn’t there yet.

I love how the shield the spirit is holding upgrades along with the spell stone, that's a lovely detail.
Woah when I initially saw this card it only summoned 2/2's when upgraded. Now its been changed? Yeah this is much better than just summoning 2/2's.
