The usual thread - I 'm playing since Un'Goro, I have 5,200 arcane dust, so basically enough for two legendaries, maybe three (I may also need to craft a few epics), and I'm trying to figure out the best way to use it. I play mostly hunter, priest, paladin and mage. I'd prefer not to craft stuff that will rotate out in a few months... I'd like to have a few competitive decks, even if none is top tier. I'm currently ranked 13, it would be good if I could have four decks that can stand their ground up to say rank 10 - I don't really have the time to grind much higher anyway.
Hunter: I have DK Rexxar. It seems to be the only legendary worth having.
Priest: I have the quest, Lyra, Velen and DK Anduin. That's the class where I have the most legendaries and even so I'm struggling to make a competitive deck, the best priest lists at the moment cost 17,000+, it's ridiculous. I don't have Raza, Kazakus or Y'Shaarj and I'm reluctant to craft them as they'll rotate out in a few months. Elise used to be played a lot in priest in the Un'Goro meta, she doesn't seem to be a top priest craft anymore. I don't have Lich King, Ysera and N'Zoth either, so I'm very far from having the Big Priest list. My current deck is an unmodified Un'Goro miracle deck (Kolento version) but it doesn't work too well these days, too many taunts. I also have a budget C'Thun deck, doesn't work that well.
Paladin: I have Tirion. I'm currently playing a kind of budget handbuff deck. Tarim seems to be the best option? Ragnaros will soon rotate out, Bolvar doesn't seem as good as Tarim, Uther seems to work mostly in control decks where he replaces Tirion. The murloc package is too expensive for me and I don't want to craft Finja anyway as he'll rotate out in a few months.
Mage: I have a secret mage deck. I have Pyros. Maybe Archmage Antonidas? I don't have the quest for an exodia deck but infinite fireballs is always good I guess. I have Yogg as well but I don't really get why he's so popular, when I play him he mostly just kills himself without doing much. Sindragosa seems meh, and DK Jaina seems to be mostly played in a new kind of elemental deck, I don't have all the cards for it so that would involve a bit of additional crafting in commons, rares and maybe epics.
In neutrals I have Taldaram, Hogger, the Beast, the Black Knight, Nozdormu, and Yogg-Saron.
So the choices seem to be: Elise, Tarim, Antonidas, Thalnos, Keleseth, Leeroy, Lich King, Alexstrasza, Malygos, and Ysera. Is there any legendary I'm missing?
Heard that elise, tarim, thalnos, mr.Lich, and alex are all good cards. I have thalnos, the lich king, alex and antonidas. Alex and Tony for mage, thalnos is just good, same goes with mr.Lich. The rest are good in some decks.
Btw, how much money did you spend on hearthstone? Thats a lot of dust for how long you were playing.
I love paladin, and Tarim is on a higher power level than all the other legendaries there IMO, so he's a strong contender, and given you already have tirion as well... You could play some midrange paladin with both in it and slowly craft cards towards actual control paladin... there are tons of different lists and you don't really need any other legendary besides Ragnaros Lightlord to make it tier 1.
Otherwise Thalnos is the most flexible option by far.
Lich King is popular right now, but he really belongs only in slower midrange and control decks... pretty good card in those decks.
From the other options I just would not recommend any of the princes.
Thanks for the answers! So far it seems to be Tarim and ?
Re money spent - I did spend a good bit (welcome pack, Karazhan and the pre-purchase offer on Frozen Knights), and I also got 2,000 dust from Blizzard due to a pity timer issue on my account. Also, I do the daily quests and when the new rule re guaranteed legendary in the first 10 packs of an extension was put in place I also got packs from Mean Streets and Old Gods. In Mean Streets I got an Inkmaster which I dusted. In Old Gods I got Yogg...
To my embarrassment, I was quite disappointed when I opened Tarim. The reality is he is one of the best legendaries in the game and he often just wins you the game. Would craft without hesitation.
I don't have Tarim myself, but from the receiving side, I agree that it's a very strong card.
Antonidas outside the quest deck doesn't produce infinite fireballs, since no opponent will let him live if they have any means to do something about it. Most of the time he's a way to trade in cheap spells that are not very useful in the late game for Fireballs. Alexstrasza might be better to craft first, since you'd probably want her in some of the same decks as Antonidas and she's useful in other control decks as well.
Ysera is useful in control vs control matches. She is hard to remove because of the massive health and being immune to most priest removal. But she doesn't have an immediate effect, so she won't save you if you're behind on the board.
Thalnos fits in many decks, but you might not be that much worse off using Tainted Zealot instead.
Gul'dan is in my opinion the strongest death knight, but since warlock is a relatively weak class at the moment, he doesn't stand out. Still, he makes some warlock decks competitive.
I have two shadow visions, two primordial glyph, one primordial drake and one obsidian statue. No ultimate infestation but when I do play druid I just use a cheap aggro version. I could craft a couple of Living Mana to help that deck although I mostly just play it for the druid quest of the day...
So far I'm quite surprised that no one is recommending Elise. Has she completely disappeared from the priest meta? I nearly crafted her a few weeks ago...
I think I'll just craft Tarim and save the rest for now, the other legendaries are strong but I have no immediate need for say Alex or Ysera as they don't really fit in my current decks...
I'd make a Lich King because of his versatility across the board, but overall, if you're unsure of what decks you want to play, I'd stick with midrange hunter. Besides it being a pretty solid deck since the meta has changed, with a few tweaks from the new KFT expansion, like DK Rexxar, it's gotten even better. Also, it's one of the cheapest decks to make besides maybe Zoolock. I'd wait a bit for the pretender decks to fall off and the meta to become more clear before you start using up all that dust. A lot of things might get nerfed, and older expansions will drop off. So if you're really wanting to craft something solid, go with the original standard Legends that still see play. That'd be your safest bet. If you like the new DK Mage, try Baron Geddon. He's making a comeback! Good luck!
But I'm still opening classic packs, and there's this new rule that you can't get twice the same legendary, so it should slightly increase my odds of drawing Ysera for example. I'd be annoyed to draw Hogger or the Beast again. Just before the rule change I got Cenarius again, that was lame. He doesn't seem that bad but I don't really play druid and he doesn't seem to be on any druid list anyway.
I did disenchant the Inkmaster as I don't plan to open new Gadgetzan packs...

Ok so definitely don't DE your legendaries so you don't reopen them. Tarim seems like a great choice since he's amazing in Paladin and will be in Standard for a long while.
Hey guys i have a very important question. I have some shitty legendaries (Moroes, Finja, and Cenarius) that i could possibly disenchant and some shitty epics, to make a jade druid deck. I already have most of the cards nedeed for the deck, except Fandral, Aya, and ultimate infestation x2. Should i craft Fandral, since i also have druid Dk and ultimate infestation x2 and make a good jade druid deck, and possibly replace aya with lich king? I have a rather small collection and it would get even smaller, but i would finally have a tier 1 deck basically, so i could climb. What do you guys think? Thanks for the answers.
Finja isn't bad at all and you might not want to DE Cenarius because you might open him from a pack again, but you can get rid of Moroes for sure. He's never been good and never will be good, even though he HAS gotten some support (Steward of Darkshire, The Caverns Below).Fandral and Aya are both great choices, but I don't think I'm one to tell you which one to craft (I don't play a lot of Druid).

On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
Cenarius has seen play in the past. It's not a bad card by any means, it does sacrifice a bit of power for versatility but yeah, it's just that there are better options nowadays.
Also, if you're going for jade druid, make sure you craft Aya. She's especially good because she provides a bit of board even after a simple board wipe.
Bobble blue - you're right, to get top tier decks I'd need Patches, Finja, Raza and Kazakus. I don't have the dust for all of them. I reckon that if I'm assiduous, it'll take me about a month of daily quests to get enough dust for a legendary (roughly assuming that half the cards in dust value will be useful to complete my collection and that half can be saved for a legendary). So that's four months of daily gaming for these four. In four months there will be yet another extension (it's every 4 months right?) and in 8 months they'll rotate out. Another way to get there is to spend more money but the way I see it I've already spent too much on Hearthstone, and I got lucky with the extra 2,000 dust from Blizzard. In any case I've heard it takes like 200 games or more to go from rank 5 to legend, even if I had the top decks I couldn't do that.
Mungo - I've seen that secret mage list, that's why I considered crafting Antonidas. My current mage secret deck is basically this list, with Pyros and Yogg instead of the Burgly Bully and Antonidas. As Batterystaple mentioned, Antonidas is a key card in exodia mage but he seems to be just a little boost in secret mage - I'm not even sure he's better than say Pyros in secret mage. Still, the advantage of Antonidas is that it's a classic card that won't rotate out.

I believe Sunkeeper Tarim is the best card in the game. However, if you don't have The Lich King yet I would make that just because it's neutral.

Some of the epics from Un'Goro and Frozen Throne are more impactful than most of the legendaries, I think: Shadow Visions, Primordial Glyph, Primordial Drake, Ultimate Infestation, Obsidian Statue.
I don't have Tarim myself, but from the receiving side, I agree that it's a very strong card.

You actually make a pretty good point there I hadn't thought of it that way. I assume you have dusted all of your gold cards already too?
On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
three Handlock decks,
two Molten Giants
and a winstreak to Legend Rank #3
Disclaimer: This is a fictional poem and this didn't actually happen to me.

Tarim is the best choice. If you already have 2 Primordial Glyphs then Antonidas is good in the tempo mage deck

I crafted Antonidas for that deck and got to rank 7 yesterday so it's pretty good.
Wow, lots of additional feedback, thanks!
