I just get a little sick when that guy drops and I may as well concede on the spot.
You know what? Don't even remove him, just give me a decently stated minion that turns my opponents hero power into a random one and I'll be ok. Heck, turn both players hero powers random if it has to be symmetrical. I'll live with it.
I understand the Jade Idol hate in theory but I feel like all of these people haven't even tried playing control recently. I see Jade Druid 1/20 matches and even beat it the one time I came across it playing Ancestral Shaman. It's not worth giving up on an archetype and crying about it all the time when only 5% of your opponents hard counter it. From the sound of it, people make it seem like it's as popular as Renolock, aggro Shammy or pirate Warrior
On topic: Entomb. My cards are MY cards. Even if it's not an OP card, it still bothers me
The irony is that gadgetzan was nerfed from 5 to 6 mana because of how miracle was abusing it. And now because power creep they give them free coins to use on turn 5 again. I'd say that with the addition of the pirates and coins, miracle is probably stronger than ever.
I agree the pirate mechanism is very strong. Small-time and patches both low cost/no cost too strong for early game. Would be better if they are nerfed but the problem is that the control game isn't able to respond is sad and its because of cheaply engineered some meta/deck type defying control cards.
Drakonid Operative is a huge value card its OP. Just like Dr.Boom it has to be in almost 90% of decks for value.
The point is these cards don't affect the meta, they are just auto add cards to your deck. They are your favourite #-drop cards.
The big problem is some cards that they affect the general meta/deck making so much that they lock the play style. These villans are Jade Idol and Reno Jackson broke the game's control synergies.
Jade idol is so strong in a 25-30 turn control meta; thank god that there are aggro decks and op shamans to make it vulnerable so not 50% of decks aren't jade druid.
There are control warriors and fewer jade druids in ladder because control warriors current decks are built against pirates, so they are benefiting. jade druids can't last vs pirates so they see no play in ladder. if the meta changes to control as it usually does, its jade fest.
Also Reno is just cheap engineering. "this is your 'control game card'" I don't like Reno, because I think if there wasn't Reno there would be better survival cards, that don't effect all the control game strategies.
So why jade is even worse than Reno? The one thing Reno helps is to use wider range of cards to make decks and adding various cards to your deck and each player usually tries their own 1-2 card added version. Also my approach is if there are isn't a card like Reno, better survival cards will be introduced; so if not introduced the control game will suffer so I wouldn't like that. In comparison Jade idol doesn't need replacement and it also killed the rarely used fatigue game.
Too much comeback power in only one card in one turn, with a heavy requirement, but no combo.
To those who complain about 5-turn matches against Aggro (which happens only against greedy decks), playing as an Aggro against a Reno Jackson is actually a 6-turn match (and then concede, because Aggro is out of steam). Difference is Aggro plays many cards to get their continuous burst, while Highlander decks use some aoe and then just Reno...
PS: I consider Kazakus to be the ideal Highlander comeback/defensive card. Powerful, yet not a one-turn game-sealer. More Kazakus and less Reno Jackson.
I honestly hate Jade stuff way more than pirates and the most annoying one is obviously jade idol. Shaman and Rogue make use of jade as small minions to keep hitting face, but druid will always be about ramping up and continuously increasing the stats of the jades, so any control deck is at a huge disadvantage towards them, and to me personally the whole concept of Jade is super boring, much like Aya and her terrible lines and voice.
The topic is which card to remove so I'll say jade idol. Reno and Entomb are my other two most hated cards to face but they rotate out next expansion, so there's hope at least. Once Reno does rotate out though, I imagine jade druid will see much more play and continue to dominate the control vs control matchups. Nerf Jade idol to a 1 mana summon a jade golem or shuffle 1 copy and it'll be a fair card that sees a value increase with Fandral.
This thread is full of aggro players who hate Reno Jackson, Midrange players who hate Patches the Pirate, and control players who hate Jade Idol. As someone who plays multiple decks, I would say that the card I hated the most is Cat Trick, however I wouldn't want it remoned from the game.

Why do you assume people choose Reno because they are aggro playing Reno haters? especially considering these idiotic Reno decks are so weak to aggro compared to the traditional control decks.
maybe they happen to be concerned about how Reno's continued existence will eventually relegate wild to the Highlander format?
Upgrade! without a fucking doubt. for 1 fucking mana you can do 6 damage, get rid of that shit. just lost on turn 4 against pirate warrior who had finley into hunter hero power, double fiery war axe, upgrade, double STB, southsea and patches (he had to play it on his own). i actually had 4 minions on the board and cleared his shit, but just so much fucking damage in that bullshit deck that i still died. even got alley armorsmith off of swashbuggler but wouldnt have made any difference
Not reno. No duplicate thing is really strong drawback actually. Most of games against aggro we cant use reno. Because they finish on turn 5. Patches the pirate really hurt the game. I think that card patches.
6/3 go face. yes, needs to be removed from the game or limited to only attacking minions.

Fireball if you asked a year ago. Now I would say Totem Golem or Firey War Axe
Weapon Based Priest is all you need in life

You should make it, try it today.
Sorry Jaraxxas. You gotta go.

Reno Jackson.
crazy comeback power for a 6 mana 4/6. too OP.
he is responsible for all of these aggro decks.
