Being a month further from the original post and only 7 - 8 weeks removed from the new expasion, I was wondering if someone had any new ideas/thoughts on this topic.
Ice Block seems to be even more destined to get hofed, not just due to the late Quest Mage from last meta, but also to help slightly tone down Burn Mage.
I highly doubt warlock cards are going to be touched since the popularity of the class is diminishing atm, and we have an expansion not that far off.
If we did get anymore hof cards (which I somewhat doubt) it would be more neutrals. It really wouldn't make sense to send class cards to hof for "design space" excuses unless you took a card out from each class. Every class utilizes identity staples that could be argued by some to be 'limiting'.
I don't think that cards that have been already nerfed, like Leeroy Jenkins or Gadgetzan Auctioneer, should be nerfed again, being moved to hall of fame
Sylvanas was, so Blizzard doesn't hold that view which is what really matters.

See a theme? I think we will see at least one mage and one warlock card HOF'd, because neither class is losing much in the rotation (control lock loses Mistress of Mixtures, Burn mage loses Firelands Portal).
Here's the top 2 evergreens by class (other than Mage and Warlock): Druid:Swipe (72.1% of Druid decks), Wild Growth (71.9% of Druid decks) Hunter: Eaglehorn Bow (93.4% of Hunter decks), Kill Command (87.6% of Hunter decks) Paladin: Divine Favor (76.4% of Paladin decks), Blessing of Kings (50.7% of Paladin decks) Priest: Northshire Cleric (78.1% of Priest decks), Mind Control (52.8% of Priest decks) Rogue: Backstab (86.8% of Rogue decks), Preparation (81.8% of Rogue decks) Shaman: Mana Tide Totem (76.1% of Shaman decks), Hex (56% of Shaman decks) Warrior: Execute (78.8% of Warrior decks), Brawl (74.7% of Warrior decks)
As much as Rogue and Hunter are meh right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see either lose a card because of the lack of diversity in their decks. Also, I think Wild Growth is a target because Druid has too much ramp at the moment, and Ultimate Infestation is Druid's top-played card.

Having cards show up in the same decks isn't always a cause for it to get Hofed or nerfed, even by T5 logic. Remember, back during the beginning of the discussion around the Hall of Fame that T5 generally stated that they would like to see around 10 cards that can keep reappearing in decks as staples. Team 5 doesn't believe that just because any card keeps being used in a deck that they feel it should be sent out of the format. I feel people too often forget that part of the conversation and just jump to the misconception that if it is played a lot then it is or should be rotated out.

Oh really? Sure, it isn't alyways the reason, but they do like that reason a lot.
"Rockbiter is the culprit of a few mass burst-damage combos in addition to being a reliable early game removal tool. Due to its strength in a variety of circumstances, it’s been one of the most widely played Shaman cards in Hearthstone’s history. Making changes to Basic cards that show up in every deck will help instigate more variety and help the Standard format succeed in the future. "
"Drawing cards is powerful in Hearthstone, and Ancient of Lore easily found its way into nearly every popular Druid deck. We’d like Druid players to feel that other cards can compete with Ancient of Lore"
"After careful consideration, we chose to make changes to three Basic class cards: Innervate, Fiery War Axe, and Hex. While they can be regarded as staples in those classes’ card repertoires, too many Basic and Classic cards played in individual decks means less fun when new expansions are released."
I could say a few things about each of these statements, but I'd just ramble for two pages. When a Basic or Classic card is too popular, it's a nerf/HoF candidate; period. When they say that 10 evergreen cards are fine, I think they mean that up to 10 cards may synergize with new strategies, like Prophet Velen and Mind Blast suddenly became strong in Razakus, or that they can be good cards in a given metagame, like Flare shows up every once in a while. But they don't want evergreen cards to remain staples.
I'm sure Team 5 is more satisfied with Druid than Hunter or Mage right now. Druid's core set is mostly useless by now, and each expansion will determine how good or bad the class ends up being. With Hunter and Mage, you still have a working core set where new expansions feel like actual "expansions", as in "expanding" on their core strengths, instead of redefining the class entirely. I expect that sooner or later every class will be pushed to that point where Druid is now.
Gonna be honest, I absolutely hate HoF rotations - why? Because it has absolutely NO effect on Wild. I'd prefer if they just nerfed HoF cards instead because that would at least effect those of us who do play in Wild.

I don't really understand where this desire to have wild changed comes from really since the way I see it wild is the HS equivalent of traditional unbanned formats that you find in physical card games. In all other card games those formats do not get changed because it is meant to be accepted that those formats are meant to left as is, not to changed up except for the addition of newly printed sets. With new sets coming out wild does change. Do you see Christmas Tree Pally every other game in wild anymore, or Freeze Mage, or even Mech Mage? Despite almost none of those decks having any core cards nerfed they relatively fell out of favor due to better and/or stronger cards being released. HoF changes aren't needed to change up wild.
I think Shadowstep should be. It was why Quest Rogue was so unfun to play against, and there are so many complaints about Shadowstep Keleseth deciding games on the first or second turn.
The problem isn't Shadowstep, but Prince2 having such a low cost - he could have been made say 4 mana 2/2 non-targetable by spells and still would see some play. Alternatively, they could have made some 0/1 legendary, "Battlecry: Drain all buffs from the opponent's hand and deck".
Quest rogue is a different story itself, making that 5/5 effect non-dispellable is kinda retarded, also polymorphing/hexing that 5/5 boar into 5/5 sheep makes no sense whatsoever.

Some legendaries would be nice.
Wild players could always use more dust :D
According to HS replay, the evergreen cards seen in the most decks over the past 2 weeks are:

There are no problematic basic ir classic cards remaining therefore no justification to Hof anything.
