I need some tips for getting legend. I can consistently get rank 2 each month but from there i start to get excited and tilt pretty hard from first lose. This habit of mine started to annoy me real hard.
its cause of the shi#ty meta right now
Seeing a lot of hate on the meta right now. IMHO it is nowhere near the worst meta we have had, but I do understand why people don't like it.
Something to consider though, when you think about the "Perfect Meta". Let's say every class was balanced and everyone had a 50% chance to win a game going into it and you should expect to meet people of similar skill as you get higher and higher ranks.
With a 50% win-rate it would take 929 games to get from Rank 5 to Legend and 1373 games from Rank 20.
It starts to make sense why people focus on high win rate decks when it comes to laddering seriously (AKA getting Legend) and you could also imagine that if we had a meta with decks that weren't strong then you would find getting legend much much harder.
the only reason why people do not like the meta right now is because its so unbalanced. You cant even play a priest deck in standard and do well with it. Shaman is OP asf with all of their early mana cards. Shaman needs to be extinct imo, they should ban using it next season :)
I was still able to climb up the ranks early in the season with Priest even though I knew it wasn't the best class. Priest wasn't good before this expansion also and was never in history a tier 1 class, so nothing has changed.
I went 3-0 today against shaman with control warrior and my overall record this season against shaman across my decks is 66.7%. if u are worried about their early curve, then (1) play something faster, like zoo or (2) play control decks that have board clears.
Priest is actually in a better / more viable spot now than before Karazan. However, the class itself is still hard to play to climb with.
If you are really good at playing Priest, I'm sure that you should be able to make it to rank 5 at least. You should be proud of yourself, because it is truly a hard class to play with given that the other classes currently have more advantage and better tools than Priest does.

How do you calculate getting to Legend from rank 5 with 929 games and a 50% win rate? No win streak.
What's wrong with the meta right now? I don't see any problems climbing. I played dragon priest, secret hunter, discard zoo, control mage, and control warrior currently climbing to rank 3. maintaining a 60% win rate. I enjoy the meta right now, it's not stale because people are still experimenting with new cards and decks.
Is there any point to running Wild Growth? It feels like I'm just discarding a card on turn 2. By the time I could make use of the extra mana I'm dead.

yogg druid is a top tier deck, watch streamers and replays on how to play it properly.

If the meta is mostly aggro, create a priest deck that counters it. you'll lose to control and midrange but you'll win the majority of games if you're mainly facing aggro. Throw in an elise in there to better your chance against control.
I seriously think players need to get better at the game and criticize their own plays instead of criticizing the meta or game.
I hit legend every season and although there's unlucky draws or opponent's top decks a win, it also happened to me. How many times have you got the perfect curve or perfect answer to your opponent's cards. I bet you don't count or remember those wins as much as salty losses.
If you learn how to play correctly, minimize misplays, and adapt, you'll hit legend. It can take many games if your win rate is boarder line positive but also can be manageable even with a full time job. I hit legend last season with 185 games. that's around 6 games per day if you stretch it to the end of the month.
This is a game with many decision making, leading to misplays. No one plays it perfectly. One season, I climbed on the final few days of the season and i was surprised how many players were misplaying simple concepts at rank 2.
You can get better at the game or get bitter at the game.
Betrayer... In truth, it was I who was betrayed. Still, I am hunted. Still, I am hated. Now, my blind eyes see what others cannot: that sometimes the hand of fate must be forced! Now go forth... unleash the tides of Doom... Upon all those...who would oppose us.
There are multiple types of mid range shaman. New ones uses the claw. There is not enough data on the new shaman deck(s) yet to determine the real match up percentages. There's also a surprised element to new decks that gives them the edge. Once a refined claw midrange shaman deck is up and stable in a couple of weeks, then we can see their real matchup percentages given that opponents will know what cards they are facing against. Also to note is that most of the matchups for this deck are light green, meaning they are slightly favorable, around 50-55% range, so not much edge.
Currently in the TOP 200 with my Hybrid Shaman - is it hard to reach TOP 100? I don't wanna go insane for a game xD
no, especially right now, there are fewer legend players this time of the month and most of them are trying new decks or just messing around for fun. people aren't grinding yet. try to get top 100 at the end of the month, that's where it gets more difficult.
I didn't want to make a new thread because of this, but I was playing my thief rogue against a dragon warrior. He has a deathwing on board and 8 hp. I have Yogg, Rag and Burgle in hand, and 11 hP. What is the smartest play for me to do?

I have nothing but respect for you. Objective and honest comments, but what kind of decks do you play to reach legend? Is it always a top tier deck, or do you play a variety of different decks?

Stats are flawed, if you have 50% or less win rate, you will never reach legend with the elimination of win streak from rank 5 on wards.
Which is basically my point, and it sounds like you have the same sentiments I do about the current complaining in this thread(and in general). If a 50% win-rate makes it impossible to reach legend, then we don't want to be playing a "balanced" deck.
The meta is going to focus on decks that can win more than 50% of the time. Everyone complaining about the "shitty meta", especially in this forum, is going to be undermining their ability to hit legend.
Again, I understand that if the top decks are not a style you prefer to play, or a class you dislike, then it can be frustrating, but if you want to hit Legend you need to play a deck that has an edge.

I'd go for Rag. 50% of hitting face and winning you the game. With Yogg you never know. But, hey, non-legend player here.
Rag or Yogg would be the play.
depends on how many spells you've played over the game. More spells, better odds of clearing, drawing cards and healing. overall, i lean more toward playing Rag and armor up. This will give you 13 health and can survive one death wing attack.

I mostly play tier 1 or tier 2 decks to finish off the climb. i play random decks during the beginning of the season. Currently playing c'thun warrior (tier 2 or 3) from rank 4 to rank 2.

Seems like an easy Rag to me. Yogg can be the play but it depends on how many cards you have left and how many spells you have played. Below 6 spells it's a clear Rag as the chances to clear the Deathwing are lower than 50%. If it does you probably win but if Rag hits face then you already won.
I think you forgot that Deathwing is a 12/12 and survives a rag shot.
This meta is so frustrating. Had hoped that this month could be the month where I could get legend for the first time. Yesterday I was rank 4 with Rogue and now I am back at rank 7 with a score of 3-15 today. Have tried different decks and suddently nothing seems to work. When I am close to winning a game the opponent throws Yogg, and I loose.
Can anyone recomend a good deck for climbing that isnt shaman?

I personally cannot wait till January where BRM and TGT rotates out. It will extinct Dragon Warrior and all of the early mana OP shaman cards.
