I'm trying to grind the Wild ladder with Anyfin Pal. Pirate being my worst ennemy, I'd like to have your oppinion about one (actually 2) card choice :
- Would you rather run Aldor Peacekeeper in order to have a 3/3 body or Humility so that you can proc Wild Pyromancer early against 1 HP annoying minion ?
- What are your thoughts about Dirty Rat in this deck ? I'm trying to reinforce the early game (still against pirate), and I'm wondering if I should put a Deathlord Instead. Actually, my mind has been strongly conditionate yesterday during my first game with Dirty Rat against a Freeze mage, when on turn 8 I dropped double Dirty Rat and pull out both Alexstrasza and Emperor Thaurissan then Wild Pyromancer + Equality , that obviously won me the game.
I know Paladin isn't the very strongest class right now, but I only enjoy control deck and I'm trying to gold it, so I'd to discuss about those card in this deck with you.
The dirty rat combo can work really well, have you thought about muster for battle for wild? having the 1 dmg wep and1/1 tokens can clear those types of pirate boards pretty quickly

While Humility shines in more niche situations, I think you'll find Aldor generally more useful against the field.
Dirty Rat seems fine. If you're encountering more aggressive decks, then Deathlord might be a bit better simply due to having more health. Rat is obviously better against control, and since I'm pretty unfamiliar with the Wild meta, you should change the two minions out to be more successful against the meta at whatever rank you're at.
Yep thanks for those replies. As the deck is very strong against control, I decided to weaken it a bit against those matchup and to tech 2 Oozes because I face like 70% of aggro pirate and i am already dead on turn 4 because of weapons. I just played against a war who has conceded turn 3 after I destroyed his fiery axe... LOL (I am rank 12). So I swapped my two sludges (which are broken, but even too slow against those decks... pathetic )
I tried Deathlord but didn't even had time to drop it on turn 3 cause I was already behind and he would have instantly destroyed it. So I think I will go with only one rat, which can also be good against control. But damn those aggro matchup are tough.
I think whoever said muster for battle is right on. It's probably one of the more broken cards paladin has ever had. With anyfin paladin, its going to help you stabilize the board so you can play finja without being massively behind on tempo. With forbidden healing, ivory knight and lightlord in your deck you can easily heal back up as long as you're not getting massacred on the board.
I'm assuming you have Wickerflame Burnbristle in the deck already? That card was designed to kill pirates and has single-handedly won many games against pirate warrior. The worst part about the card is that you can only have one!
I wasn't running Wickerflame until now because I couldn't find room for him. I'll give him a chance (also cause I love the card entrance ^^). I think it's really designed to be buffed, and a 2/2 for 3, even with divine shield, is too expensive and weak... I think. I played only one game with this one, against renolock and won with a bit of luck (Wickerflame being the only card I haven't drawn ^^). So I think it should still be fine against control, and now I have to see in the long term against aggro.
I'd like to run one Muster for Battle, but I really feel like every single card is needed.
Dirty Rat is the only one which could be replaced, but is really, really strong against control (it won me the game against renolock by pulling out his Doomsayer while he had full board)
Muster for Battle and Shielded Minibot are both insanely good in aggro matchups for controlling the board. Rallying Blade might also be something to consider. not quite as strong as Truesilver Champion but it comes down a turn earlier and most aggro decks don't generally run much with more than 3 hp with Totem Golem and Frothing Berserker being the biggest offenders. don't be afraid to weaken your control matchups slightly, you can OTK them with 2nd anyfin most of the time anyways and the majority of the ladder I've seen is aggro anyways. as someone else mentioned, Wickerflame Burnbristle is really good vs aggro. vs pirate decks it generally gets a 2-1 or a minion and a weapon charge while healing for 4. if you find Sludge Belcher too slow, consider Second-Rate Bruiser its often only 3 mana vs aggro decks and can make a big difference in slowing the game down while still being decent at full cost of 5. Mistress of Mixtures can also be worth taking a look at, its only really bad vs renolock since it gives them 2 free taps, but that should be a pretty favored matchup anyways since they only run a few threats that you should be able to easily deal with.
I know its a lot of card choices, but just try with different cards here and there and see what works for you. I find my biggest issue with wild is I have so many amazing cards to try and fit into a 30 card deck lol :(
/edit: completely forgot about Coghammer which should work pretty well against most aggro/face decks. potentially deal with 5 minions for 1 card. I don't run it in my midrange paladin cause I'm stupid, but its one of the more broken paladin cards available in wild.
I've been using Unstable Ghoul in my Reno mage deck and Deathlord ofc. With duplicate they were OP so I could say use the Getaway Codo with these 2 if you want. I also liked the Muster for Battle suggestion.

I was thinking the same but the card is actually really strong on its own, especially against pirate warrior.
Early game it is strong to stop the first flood of low life
turn 6/7 when the pirate warrior lost the board and is relying on damage from hand and weapon he has to sink two damage sources to go through
Against pirate you get 4 heal almost every time has few of them run spell they gonna use to clear him. And if they do that is a win/win for you
Seeing the pirate warrior squirm because he has to sink the last charge of his 7/1 arcanite reaper and a minion/charge minion to deal with a 2/2 feels really good. It that position he is even better than a dirty rat or a bruiser because they both die after the arcanite reaper hit.
For the first question over all I think the aldor is better than humility, I play Anyfin only in standard but relying on a two card combo to clean 1/1 2/1 is hazardous at best and if I have a Wild Pyromancer in hand I would probably keep it and prey to topdeck an equality

Kodo +redemption and sludgebelcher , Murkeye Mistriss of Mixtures work well against aggro.

This is the list right now :

2 Acidic Swamp Oozes are mandatory against pirate
Dirty Rat is the only one which could be replaced, but is really, really strong against control (it won me the game against renolock by pulling out his Doomsayer while he had full board)
Aldor Peacekeeper (or humility) is too strong
Acolyte of Pain is needed to draw, both against aggro to draw your defensive option, and against control to draw your combo
I run only one Truesilver Champion, because this weapon is really strong, but you don't like to trade minions against pirate
Lay on Hands is also strong against both matchup, although often too slow against aggro
Ragnaros, Lightlord , Tirion Fordring , I won't talk about that
So I'm stucked now ! The only other option is to play shaman ^^
