As of the past day, since the change of the new Season I have noticed my Face Hunter deck not do nearly as well as the past season. I am aware meta changes quite quickly. Is the Face Hunter out of meta now? Or is just my playing today that is not so great.
Face hunter has a little less undertaker than it used to, but I've still run into a bunch on ladder, especially since it's the beginning of the season and people are trying to rank up fast.
Since Face Hunter is getting popular again, it's only natural that people run decks to counter it. I've been seeing more Control Warrior in the past week because it's a hard counter to Face Hunter and not to mention that Rogue and Druid can outrace them.

i still see it, but i think it's not that good, it's pretty much a praying game, i've lost to it and i've won against it but all in all i think it's very limited. yesterday , start of the season i saw quite a few of them, but i guess people weren't ranking up as expected because i haven't seen any today at higher ranks. plus now people run kezan mystics, if you take their explosive trap they can't attack with anything.
face hunter is actually a popular deck right now because it's strong against mid-ranged hunter and oil deck two of the most popular decks. It's just with GvG there are so many different decks, you don't run into them 90% of time.
Face Hunter is like the counter to Mech Mage. As Mech Mage typically don't run any taunts except Annoy-O-Tron, you have a free pass to go face all the time. Coupled that with Explosive Traps injuring but not killing the Mechs makes Knife Juggler + Unleash a lot more potent. The only Mechs you need to kill is probably Annoy-O-Tron and Mechwarper.
Considering I just played SIX fu**ing facetards in a row, and only beat the sixth when I switched to my anti-huntercancer druid, no I wouldn't say it's dead at all.
I wish it were dead. As I seem to say every post, it is ruining the game. They should just remove hunter entirely.
I don't think there are any tips we can give you, how else can you [] hit face every turn?
It's not an overpowered class, it just has polarizing matchups. If your deck is prepared for aggro, you should do fine the majority of the time. If not, well.... :(
As someone who plays pretty much only Druid, I can say they are weaker. I stomp them most of the time, only when I get a bad hand. The decks that counter Face Hunter are quite popular right now, I think that's why they are weaker. The Undertaker nerf certainly provided some chemotherapy to the meta, but they're still fairly good. I would say mechmage is better though.
Somehow I doubt it will ever die. As long as anyone plays slower control or combo decks they'll always have to figure out how to survive the predictable and fairly common first 6 turns of most Hunters: Webspinner, Mad Scientist, Animal Companion, Shredder, KC/trap, Highmane, followed by Boom or Unleash or whatever else will make you concede.
Yeah, I think you actually understand what I was trying to say. It's become more countered. It's not "dead" like it's not played, rather it's "dead" because it has become more difficult to win with it. I have began to play a little bit more mid range Hunter with SenX deck, and my win rate has increased, and I believe that it is a little bit less cancer. I understand Hunter is a hero which some people really hate, but if the point of the game is to win, then play what is best fitting and easiest for you. And for me, that is the Hunter.

Facehunter is making quite a comeback actually. The one that's super aggro and runs Leeroy, it's very brutal if you don't draw into multiple taunts and/or heals.
That strategy gets countered by the Face Hunters running Snake Trap instead of Explosive Trap, which I think is objectively better anyway considering if they're attacking your minions they don't have board wipes and if they Kezan Mystic your trap you don't care because you attack face any way. Pretty sure every body runs Explosive Trap just because they don't have the dust dedicated to Snake Trap, but I could be wrong about that.
I actually stopped running Explosive Trap all together in my hunter deck. 2x snake trap + 1x snipe. Nobody currently plays around snipe, so it's killed a lot of Azure Drakes and Tinkertown Technicians. Everybody checks for Explosive Trap though, which a lot of time ends up putting them in an awkward tempo position. This is for a midrange deck with Scavenging Hyena.
Hey,
Just a New Player and all (about 4 or 5 months).

Let's get salty!
Sen-x midrange and face hunter with arcane golems, etc.. are both very popular decks.

Here you go, this is the deck I use:

I especially love when opponents with low HP use Dr. Boom in hopes it will save them and all you do is ignore him and kill their face.
SOS stands for start of the season. I assume it will be good for a week+ for sure (or for more!)
Enjoy the show
