For that list, I"d just replace it with another Savannah Highmane. As for worrying about crafting the card, I don't think you really need to. He's an incredibly strong card if you can get him to stick (which at 6 health, isn't THAT hard) and since he was apart of witchwood, he's staying in standard for the next year and a half and he's definitely going to see more play because of that.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
I mean, Houndmaster Shaw is a card from witchwood, so it is not really early to craft him now.
Of course, the deathrattle hunter is at least in part new (the version without mechanical whelp and other mechs also existed before Boomsday). And Houndmaster Shaw was an inclusion in Recruit hunter and in the deathrattle hunter before Boomsday. It seems to be a viable card with little risk to craft if you like playing hunter.
Of course, that doesn't mean that deathrattle hunter will stay Tier 1 or 2 in the near future but I personally think it is likely the deck stays viable.
Horkinger - Agreed Houndmaster Shaw has been around since Witchwood, and is likely a good craft. What I meant is, we're early enough in Boomsday meta that some other deck that would require me to craft two legendaries may emerge, and I may regret using my dust to craft Shaw so early in the Boomsday meta.
Right Now, I'll probably substitute in Savannah Highmane, and try the deck for a week or so. If 1) I like playing the deck 2) decks running Houndmaster Shaw are still looking tier 1/2 and 3) I don't see any compelling new decks that require 2 legendary crafts, I'll probably craft Shaw.
That said, I still welcome any other/further advice on the deck above and Boomsday crafting. My collection is online (not sure it's 100% current on the sync).
RE: Crafting, Zilliax and Soularium are also on my wishlist.
I've now made legend with deathrattle hunter two months in a row, and I can say... Houndmaster Shaw is incredibly strong. If you enjoy deathrattle hunter, you shouldn't regret crafting him at all. If he can stick, then you can cube him and Play Dead the cube, you are in an impossibly high tempo state. I would highly recommend crafting him if you enjoy the deck (and I wouldn't care about future decks for now, worry about fun in the present haha).
A potential replacement, however, is Tundra Rhino. The Rhino's synergy with zombeasts (again if you can magically cube it, although it is harder to make stick than Shaw) is insane. If you manage to get him on Kathrena's deathrattle rather than the battlecry, you've got some serious potential late game.
Anyways, tl;dr, if you enjoy deathrattle hunter and you know you're good at the deck and you have fun playing with it, craft Shaw lol.

I like Hunter but Shaw has felt like an anchor around my neck. Hunter's early game doesn't bait out removal so it seems like there's always something that can be done to him. When I save him to play with immediate Rush benefit he's a dead card and I fall too far behind on board.
The data at hsreplay.net shows that decks he's in have a winrate of 55%+. In games where Shaw is played the WR is 56%+. Shaw-less versions of the same decks have not emerged that outperform. So it's probably me. :-(

Shudderwock means driving a clown car in circles around your opponent while he swings his sword at you. Half the time he chops you and your car to pieces. The other half you park on his legs and 40 clowns come out one by one, trampling him to death.
When replacing a card in a deck, you usually have to think about it's role in the deck and try to put something similar.
Houndmaster Shaw helps with a smooth transition from your early game to your late threats, specially when you can suicide your cubes, and also baits removal even when you have no follow up. I don't think that another Highmane is a good substitute for that.
I would try Spiritsinger Umbra, or Saronite Chain Gang. The first one would do a similar job, but with less health, the chain gang is a little different, but also a solid mid game card that helps keeping things under control until you pull your big guys, and with keleseth sinergy for bonus. Personally, I'd choose Spiritsinger Umbra for fun and Saronite Chain Gang for results.
He is a very safe craft with an effect that can snowball with cards like mechanical whelp. He also fills imo a very important spot for hunter nn the 4 mana slot. 3/6 is a very nice body to have at 4 mana, especially with the effect he comes with.
With 3200 dust to spare I would definitely craft him if you really wanna give deathrattle hunter a go.
Thanks for all the feedback. Played some rank ~8 games subbing in Savannah Highmane, but opponents seemed to be disproportionately aggro (odd paladin, zoo warlock), and gave me troubles. Got some wins and had some fun though.
Swapping in Tundra Rhino for now. Probably make my decision after some more games and Vicious Syndicate's next Data Reaper.
Thanks again.

I'm looking at playing a Standard Deathrattle Hunter Deck, something like this one:
http://metastats.net/deck/20f57423-d56e-40e6-a4ac-19912d23b4a2/last7/
But I don't have Houndmaster Shaw. I only have 3200 dust or so, and I'm a little nervous about crafting him so early in the expansion.
What would your recommendations be for replacing Houndmaster Shaw in this deck?
Any feedback appreciated.

craft it, otherwise replace it with anything and you will have a worst deck
enjoy!
