Ever since the "cannot lose stars at this rank" tier levels I've been experimenting a lot without fear of losing progress. Recently I've included Rend Blackhand in my Dragon Priest. I figured with all the dragon synergy and enemy legendaries why not? I'll probably cut it at some point but right now the fun factor is making it worth it.
Anyhow...
I just played against a Control Warrior who ran Elise Starseeker. Nothing unusual there. Well the game got to a point where I was at 6 hp, enemy had 3 hp, and had a Drakonid Operative on an otherwise completely empty board. He then armors up and plays Golden Monkey. I have a dragon and Rend Blackhand in hand... but cannot target the monkey because it is common quality and not a legendary minion! Thinking I had lethal, I made the mistake and played Rend too fast and ended up plopping him down just as a body. I heal my face to 8 with my remaining mana and pass without attacking.
Monkey hits my face and then Grommash Hellscream comes down and seals the deal with 4 attack. "Hmmph, well played."

So why is Golden Monkey not a legendary token like other legendary-generated tokens such as Ashbringer, Twin Emperor Vek'nilash, and Baine Bloodhoof? Token rarity is not only cosmetic! I actually lost a match because of it!
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Hmm good question, probably they wanted to include a legendary search card in deck abd didn't want the monkey to be found that way..
Interesting I'm actually not sure why.

The fact that youre playing rend blackhand against a golden monkey in this meta is way more shocking than the fact that the monkey isnt a legend
Seems ok.
