Greetings travellers,
(Old Introduction)
I've been playing control warrior for 3 years now and i'm still loving it, except for the fact that I don't really like it in Standard because of the loss of Ragnaros the Firelord, Justicar Trueheart,Sylvanas Windrunner and Elise Starseeker. Those cards were key cards for a fun and strong Warrior deck. So I decided to craft some key wild cards and try this deck out with Reno Jackson. It worked really well with a win percentage of 78%. Double elises make this deck as it is, because of the power that you can generate from them. I just added some of the un'goro cards like the quest and the Primordial Drake to make this deck more powerfull than it already was. If you think there should be another card in this deck that i haven't included, put it in the comments.
I've finally changed the deck completely to a way more consistent deck. The Elise's are back on track and ready to beat up slow decks with lots of fun value. The quest has been removed for several reasons, most important one is that it's too slow to keep up with things like cubelock or any aggro deck. Removing that quest, gave a lot of new opportunities and win conditions to explore again, so i added n'zoth as an additional win condition. I'm still figuring out if any of the Witchwood cards could fit in, so stay tuned for more updates. Hope you enjoy this new version of my Reno Warrior :)
Mulligan:
Try to look for weapons versus almost every matchup as it can help you stabilize your early game.
Also look for early minions or things like sleep with the fishes and whirlwind vs every kind of deck, because in wild you don't really know what you're up against.
Changes:
1. took Dead Man's Hand out for Geosculptor Yip, feel like they were both played late game, but Yip feels more like a win condition than a game extender, which is better in most cases.
2. Both elises are back! I felt like Grommash Hellscream and Rotface are a bit too slow and sometimes just a dead play, they need combo cards and you need to be on the winning side. Grommash could be used to finish of an opponent with 10 health or less, but rarely get to those situations.
WW Updates:
Well, this change is just a small change but a very impactful one, i've removed Revenge for Warpath which gives you a turn 10, 5 dmg removal spell which is pretty important for this deck.
I've been looking through all the new Witchwood cards but I can't really find any other strong cards for this deck, so this one change was all I could think of. So I apologize, if I took too long for such a small change, but i'll still look for changes I could make.
If you can find other strong combo's or cards you added or want to add to this deck, tell me and maybe i'll change the deck a bit after some playtesting!
That's all I can say, I hope you enjoy this deck as much as I am!
Depends on how the game plays itself. If you have enough taunts for your quest and you haven't played sylvanas, then n'zoth is not that necessary. Sometimes you'll get 2 Direhorns in your deck which disables your Reno, which is realy bad. The only real good things you get are sylvanas and sludge belcher. N'zoth is also 10 mana, so you're gonna play it later in the game and you can't play things after you play him. It's still your choice to switch Dr, Boom for N'zoth
Thank you for replying! :)
Also, what about Stonehill Defender instead of Fierce Monkey?
First of all, thank you for helping me to improve this deck. :)
I also thought of switching the monkey out for Tar Creeper, but stonehill defender is a nice one. I will switch it in and try, because you can draw him late game for some nice late game taunts. The only thing that's not so nice about that is that The Curator has a bigger chance thath he won't draw a beast card, but there's still 2 beasts in the deck. Also monkey has 2 more attack.
Np, just figuring it out as you do ^^;
My reasoning behind Stonehill is that it might get a tempo on the taunts.
Also most of the times I draw The Curator after I've played/drawn one of my beasts so the statistics remain the same.
Oh and another thing, does Youthful Brewmaster has a place for a Reno bounce value?
it's rarely that you'll need 2 reno's and there's no card to switch him in for
take out starseeker :)
You betray the true elise, goddess of fun and RNG. No one should do that. I considered doing that, but I still decided to keep this deck as it is, a double Elise warrior. Elise starseeker makes the games more fun in my opinion.
well, if you want more fun, why not replace the Eliise twins for rot face + DK for some real rng/control fun?
i to am a huge fan of elise starseeker i am also honest,,,,,,she is slow as hell to slow unfortunatly :(
What if I only replace Starseeker with rotface? would that be stronger and just as fun? (I will change the name of my deck then though)
I betrayed Elise myself then xD
Edit: I played with rotface, but i don't think elise is the one to switch with. I feel like thaurissan is not that strong. Maybe i will take him out after playing some games without him. I like elise way too much and i don't want to change my deck name
what about switch alex or lk out for zoth?
i dunno about justicar i know you can armour up before quest but a few times for me this card is counter productive :)
Yea I chose Shield Block to switch out for Justicar Trueheart, but you're right in some way. My deck has 8 taunts in it, so you get that hero power late game. Justicar could get some value before you get your Ragnaros hero power. But feel free to switch them back
Ty for reply
Why no Juticar, dont u need her?
After playing some games with justicar, i've decided to switch shield block in for her, It's a strong cycle card that makes shield slam way better.
