Thanks for sharing. Have had some narrow and fun comebacks against Hunters who thought they had it in the bag until the taunt wall + heals arrived. Just for fun I replaced one Ivory Knight with Ragnaros, Lightlord since I have it and wanted to use it. Pretty effective at healing those massive HP minions buffed with Spikeridged Steed, but probably not as reliable in the end.
I was thinking about replacing a knight for rag. Does it work well or not?
Works well for me. I've had several Hunters concede when they run 4 minions into a big minion buffed with Spikeridged Steed only to drop Rag and have it be healed up back up to full. I'm also cursed with the Ivory Knight and always get a selection of 3 crap secrets, so there's that too. Disclaimer: I'm only playing this deck at rank 12 so far, haven't had much time to play.
Replace for Ivory Knight ?
A budget replacement could be Guardian of Kings. Puts a body on the board and heals, but lose the versatility of discovering a spell.
Another option without increasing the curve of your deck could be Priestess of Elune for similar reasons, or just another solid taunt like Ancient of Blossoms.
I have to say control Paly decks suffer a lot from well-curved aggro decks, such as pirate warrior or murloc shaman, but they are really good against other control decks tho.
Game 1: Quest Warrior turn 2. Dirty Rat [/card] pulls out [card]Tirion fordring. Warrior concedes. (html coding shows card tagged correct, but, not in the reading..oh well).
Game 2: Control paladin (not this build) gets me to 3 health at turn 8. I drop n'zoth the corruptor and it summons no Deathrattle minions..haha. I knew I played none, but, was my only play for a minion on the board..lol After 12 turns, he concedes.
Game 3: Face Hunter (no quest) Really terrible curve. Turn 6 death. Hand was 6-6-7-8-10 (7 from the Stonehill Defender . I may have gotten greedy on that card choice. Instead of grabbing tempo, I grabbed big.
Game 4: Pirate Warrior..Turn 7 Warrior concede.
Game 5: Control Paladin. Played like it should in control vs control. n'zoth the corruptor pushed me over the top.
Great deck Kripp, thanks for sharing. 4/5 on first plays.
Played about 20 games or so. Been getting Paladin quest's for dailies this weekend. I am not a huge ranked player, but the new quests are tough to roll in the Arena where I enjoy playing.
As with any deck, drawing needed cards at the right time is key.
The big struggles come in VERY aggressive Pirate Warriors.
The second worse are priests utilizing Lyra the Sunshard and Mana Geode. So many 3+ health minions so early..lol Even if I clear the minions with a Wild Pyromancer combo, they still have lots of cards in hand.
Dirty Rat is such a wild card...lol. I am still deciding on it's value.
The best part of the build is mid to late game, where the amount of taunts overwhelm the game. Turtle down until you can drop N'Zoth for a second Tirion...
With the amount of weapons being used currently, the double weapon removal is nice. Possible our old buddy Harrison Jones could visit Un'Guru? Although, when I get out tempo'ed early, I feel like I am just throwing cards on to the table..haha
Hi,+1 for this deck, work surprising fine till now.
When he played on stream, will be nice look how he play this deck.
