So, uhm, I was trying the deck today...and I found the first Zoolock since Gadgetzan was released. What he was dropping was not what I was expecting, Blizzard truly opened the Box of Pandora this time...:/
Gameplay: VOD Pavel's Reno Kazakus Mage
You just went to banner-advertisement level of clickbaiting.
Hearthpwn needs to fix its database; it's Paveling Book not Babbling Book
I still wonder how Reno Mage can be competitive on the ladder. Base on my experience it's like trash on rank 10-15, definitely the worst of Reno-Kabals decks, even with a lot of variation which are more or less not important, the core is still around 80% of the deck. With good mulligan average possibility to beat aggro pirate decks and against control match-ups it's just a long long match-up with limited win conditions. I have to miss something.
I took reno mage with me to fireside and it was by FAR my best performing deck with 83% winrate. Ice Block gives you such an edge over combos and thanks to Medivh, the Guardian and freeze you are able to keep up with renolock until they run out of cards and you win in fatigue. There are also cheap AoE effects against aggro. It is just really hard to figure out if you are investing too much resources.
This is my build also, and it is the most fun-to-play meta deck I've used in HS.
Is it worth to craft it? Because Reno is rotating out in like 2 months
Priest will still play Reno archetype since they got Greater Healing Potion and Raza which is enough to sustain them throughout most matches.
The rest idk... I doubt Renolock will be a thing. If anything they will just go back to being handilock. Mage as Ice Barrier, so that might work somehow if they make another good sustain card for them?
Aggo is too strong right now and reno keeps those decks running. If aggro is weaker they might not need reno. They may just need cards that are just 'almost like reno'. Healing 14 in one turn, 8 on the other instead of 22 at once.
Winning streak FeelsGoodMan
how long do i have to practise to always get clutch spell from book?
Ok so I'm grinding up enough dust to craft Alextraza, which happens to be the only card I don't have for this deck. Are there any cards you could suggest for a short term replacement?
Alex is one of those cards with such a unique effect, that it's hard to replace. Usually people slap Rag in her spot, as it fits the mana curve more or less.
Medivh the guardian is also a great option. You are gonna cry when you see an Ooze, but it is really really strong otherwise, he won me so many games. And even if they have the Ooze you still get a 7/7. I feel like rag may not provide enogh value against control, he is just going to be removed next turn.
The only problem with Medivh is that he has anti-value with Thaurissan unfortunately. I've faced the consequences of putting them together first hand.
True, in my list I did not have the Emperor because I was missing Antonidas as well! But I don't think it is a huge deal, you are still gonna get value from him.
If only i had Archmage Antonidas
You don't need it, I did rank5 to legend with a very similar list last season. I also do not have alex. I was using medivh and a more tempo-oriented approach (e.g.: without Antonidas then Faceless Summoner is a great card in place of Bully/Thaurissian). Pretty sure it works better this way, but you can win and have fun anyway!
will loses to greedy version of reno mage.
unless opponent draw bad
It probably seems to be a good deck if you have an opportunity to ban a deck you want from opponent, as for any tournament one, IMO.
