The Deck has been updated to Explosive Snipe since GvG !
Hello everyone I’m Spark, Legend player from Hearthstone, and today I’m presenting you a Control Hunter that I recently built and had some great success with.
The basic idea was to play Savannah Highmane as a late game threat and Eaglehorn Bow as a versatile control and pressure tool along with Snipe to annoy Miracle Rogue and Explosive Trap to fight Aggro decks. The slower nature of my choice lead me towards a Control archetype, using a synergy that I already tested before : Wild Pyromancer and Hunter's Mark.
That's it for the guide guys, I hope you'll enjoy the Deck as much as I do !

+ 1x Loatheb
+ 1x The Black Knight
Great deck. Excellent in the meta right now. Didn't have Baron Geddon and swapped with Alexstrasza instead, works well.
Such meta killer...:D Just beat three zoos in the row with this deck. Great job Sparkaz...:)
Really like hunter as class and tried to build many different kind of decks, especially after UTH nerf.. even built something similar to this even if this one seems more viable, i was wondering playing something more about control like Sylvanas Windrunner , Cairne Bloodhoof or The Black Knight ? I know that the problem would be that you don't know what to replace in the deck, and the choice seems pretty hard cause Highmane seems too useful cause with the control, it even provides more damage than something like Cairne... and you can't even replace Sen'jin cause it will hurt too much for the mana curve.. I think that building many kinds of deck would be a nice idea to try them out.. but unluckily i don't have all these cards to try them (such a poor guy) so i'm telling you what i think could be fine and maybe you could try it out...
I think that something like Kill Command could be even put in as a finisher/removal and maybe with this change you could even replace 1x Loot Hoarder with 1x Bloodmage Thalnos so that Kill Command has even more value with the +1 Spell damage
There are many kind of things I'd like to try... What do you think about these ideas?
Hi guys ! As many of you requested, I finally found some time to upload a gameplay video of me playing the deck.
I know it is still a small sample size, but I may do some others this season if it get some "hype".
Thanks again for your awesome support guys ;)
Post more! I'd love to see vs Ramp and Miracle. :D
wow, but Ramp and Miracle is the easiest match-ups for this deck.
I switched x1 Acolyte of Pain for x1 Flare and x1 Baron Geddon with x1 Sunwalker. Working better (for me)
p.s. here's my version of this deck.
OMG... I think this deck is (demi)godlike... I'm a lover of Hunter, but the old UTH deck is so out the meta...
It's a shame that i don't have Ragnaros to run this deck, but I will build it only for this deck (cuz I don't like traditional control decks).
Awesome deck my only question is why you don't run 1xflare its very useful in mirror matchup, miracle rogue, and freeze mage which has become very popular recently. Is there any reason why you choose not to run flare?
I've always loved this class and it's great to now have a nice current meta deck that I can play!
I've never been a huge fan of the Hunter class, but I have to say this deck is fun and amazing! It's very refreshing to see this work not only well, but also without a lot of the beasts and things that everyone's used to dealing with when facing hunter. Great job!
For anyone facing a lot of miracle rogues at your place in the ladder, you really want to give this list a shot. It might be the hardest counter to them. Its solid in every other match up too, even its worst match ups are pretty much 50/50s. I want to commend you Spark on a freakin genius deck. The really clever and inventive synergies throughout make it a ton of fun and provides a lot of potential for creative and versatile plays.
Question though, how do you feel about swapping a Loot Hoarder for Bloodmage Thalnos? Also wondering about a swap of Elven Archers in favor of Worgen Infiltrators? I feel like they can stick to the board with stealth and take out 3/2s in the early game nicely. I know Elven Archer can potentially be more relevant in late game than the Worgen combined with Hunters Mark every once in a while but i think its a good trade off, and its not like the Worgen couldn’t still help control the board past the first few turns. Plus I think it actually patches up the trading weakness you open up by swapping a Loot Hoarder for Thalnos , so it seems nice to me. But you are the expert and must have a reason to enlighten me with.
And again, great job man. I love this deck. I was beaten by it on my aggro warrior about a week ago and immediately sought it out because it was just so sick to me, and I got all the cards together day before yesterday and put a bunch of games in on casual mode to get the feel for all the mechanics and match ups, now Im taking it on the ladder as of tonight and am 3-0 thus far. Sorry for wall of text, thanks in advance if you take the time to read it.
Thanks a lot for your awesome feedback ;)
Running Bloodmage instead of a Loot Hoarder is perfectly fine. My personnal preference goes to Loot hoarder in this deck, since the 2 Attack is more often valuable than the Spell damage but yeah it is totally ok.
For the elven's archer, I used to go with Argent Squire, then Secretkeeper, then Leper Gnome, and really their late game potential is much more helpful in many situation and they are also a good other way to trigger Acolyte if there is nothing else to do. However, running Leper Gnome or Worgen infiltrator or another solid 1-drop will be very good when you can play it on turn 1, especially against Zoo (to kill those 3/2) so it's kind of a trade off and my choice went for Elven's archer as I think it is useful in more situatiuons than the others. But as I state in the guide, you can really try things out and go for your personnal preference ;)
I bet this deck is running double Tracking now.
yea and it's possible that the guy was just trying make the best play he had and not trying to..... you know.
I didn't knew why you said that in the first place since the reason I don't run Tracking is clearly explained in the guide. But then I saw why, because of the bug ... No, I still don't run Tracking ;)
Lol. Can't wait to see the tracking/pyromancer/acolyte fuckers get hammered.
This deck is amazing, fun to play and it's competitive. Sparky dude, you done well designing this deck. :)
i think baron geddon is bad in mage match up
A very fun deck to play, and reasonably strong against most classes too. So many ways to make an opponent rage.
