Hey guys Sigma here, 8-time Legend player, Deck Architect, Guide Writer and Hearthpwn Analyst coming to you with a fresh version of the Tempo Mage, one of the more successful versions I used to climb the ladder in S22 to legend, where I managed to reach it pretty early. The list is a little bit different from the one that you can find in my decks, and probably a lot deadlier.
First and foremost, the tempo mage is of course, based on building and keeping tempo, as the name states, and that means to be able to have turns with positive value, which can go as far as putting new minions out + removing opponent's board with cheap/ free spells + going face with the minions already present on the board. Now, this deck differs by not using Azure Drakes, but using Ethereal Conjurers as wild cards, which alongside the Sludge Belcher can trigger the Effigy and spawn another 5 mana cost minion, which can be pretty crazy sometimes. And of course, one of the main things, from which we have the name of the deck, is the absence of Archmage Antonidas, the late mentor of Jaina. The reasoning behind that is that it's just damn too slow for the current meta. It requires you to either have spells to go with him which means that he will be thrown out on turn 8 or 9, but in any case he just doesn't bring enough impact on the board after being played. That's why he was replaced by Ragnaros the Firelord, who has much more impact and has saved me A LOT of games in the last season.

The only reason that I am setting up this goal is to motivate you guys motivate me motivate you (motivating x ∞) and to know that you guys like the deck enough for me to write out details for the gameplay! Until the goal has been reached, I will leave you guys with this new mulligan and I will be adding a card replacement section in the next day or two.

MULLIGAN
Mulligan for this deck doesn't really vary that much, as the priority cards are almost the same for every class. The priority cards vary just a tiny bit based on what is expected form the before mentioned class in the early game. The difference between having the coin or not here is only that if you have the Coin against a slower class like Warlock(if Reno), priest or a druid that isn't getting a perfect curve, you can keep Flamewaker and not take it out straight away but wait for turn 4 and take it out with Frostbolt, or use the Coin on turn 3 with Flamewaker and Arcane Missiles/Arcane Blast.
A little sidenote - Minions are almost ALWAYS better than spells. If you have no minions in hand but all early spells, you might want to even ditch all of them just to try to get some of the minions. Another thing; NEVER keep a Frostbolt AND a Flamecannon early on. Choose one. Also , the cards that have a white outline are the cards with the highest priority for that specific class
CARD REPLACEMENTS
Please note: Even though I always encourage people to try out different variations of my deck which suits their tastings more, try not to steer too much from my list or else it will be a completely different variation of the tempo mage! Regarding the Mirror Image, I don't encourage it that much as there aren't that many warriors around but it might enforce Jerry to remove more stuff, so try it out!

FAQ:
How does one Arcane Blast make any sense when you don't run any Azure Drakes?
In most of my games it was just used as an early free removal with the help of Sorcerer's Apprentice, even without any Spell Damage buffs. It will remain in the deck until I find a better alternative.

Just wanted to stop in and say this deck is still working wonderfully given the current pace of the meta, from rank 12- rank 5....my win rate was 78%
-1 missiles, + 1 Arcane Blast (i really needed to target against Zoo/Hunter/Shaman)
-1 Boom, +1 Loatheb ..... such a vast improvement here, for these reasons:
Triggering Effigy with a Boom Bot sucks / BGH
Loatheb almost always forces a trade and allows me time to regain tempo or close out the game, its great with effigy, only vulnerable to SWD, and its only 5 mana....
What's a good replacement for Effigy?
Get it its awsome. Its in the newest expansion so you will have 3 years of fun with it in standard.
The following happens to me quite frequently. Coin Mad Scientist on turn 1. Trade on turn 2 and get effigy. Portal a good 5 drop (reduced to 3). Play it on curve. Let the enemy kill it. Wait for him to concede.
Also works with 6 and 4 drops but not as good...
Also works well will ragnaros, cause the enemy has to remove him if they dont have leathal in the next turns.
So far 9-1 with this deck.
I changed out one effigy for a duplicate, and its really helping me keep the steam rolling, Piloted shredder is the card im using the very least, anyone else seeing this?
In terms of tempo, not so much. Especially if you can synergize Shredder with Effigy, same goes for the Belcher.
The issue with cutting Toni, is it takes away backbone if the opponent survives until late game, say turn 10+.
With Tony, for decks that aim to fatigue, or play a slow game like RenoLock or Elise Priest, you can save up for a big turn of fireballs and the mana cost doesn't mean that much. You just need to get the value in your hand.
Rag is great, but once hes gone, thats it. His value ends.
No chance vs smorc shaman and priest. Other classes fifty-fifty.

Is Mad Scientist must have in this deck? Sorry if thats silly question, I'm still new to the game.
mad scientist is very key in this deck, but I wouldnt craft it because the format of hearthstone is changing and wont include that card in current ladder.
I mean, it can't be crafted even, so ye, I will not invest money in Nax since it's gonna be excluded from standard format. Got my answer, thanks.
Loving this deck so far. It got me to Rank 5 and as a fairly casual player who's highest previous rank was 6 I count that as a win. I did end up making two changes though. I traded one Effigy for a Counterspell because I found it was a better early game pull from Mad Scientist and it gets better value if I end up with it in my hand early on. It's saved me from lethal on multiple occasions especially against Face Shaman, Freeze Mage, and the Druid Combo. The other trade was -1 Piloted Shredder for a Water Elemental because the bigger body tends to present more of a challenge to my opponents and that extra Freeze effect wards off Face Shamans and Secret Paladins. Nothing like watching that Shaman concede with a 2/6 Doomhammer that they could only swing twice.
First time post & first time legend.
This is my 3rd season playing Hearthstone & this season I've pushed my hardest to get legend.
I followed this deck list with great success all the way to rank 3, from rank 5 I had a win streak of 13.
For my final push to legend I had to make changes and sadly effigy had to go. I had some epic moments during my climb with it but it's just to miss hit for me.

+1 counter spell
