We're back ;)
Very meh, just place face hunter
Made rank 10 with this deck in March 2016.
Decent deck. Had to replace Flare and Eaglehorn Bow with some secrets because I didn't have them, but ended up being able to push through a Reno heal and 3 Antique Healbots in the same game against a gold mage.
Could you do a guide? At least a mulligan guide?
Takes some getting used to the play style after coming from a mostly face hunter style deck
Take/Keep board control in the early turns and after you got it/midgame you just SMorc if you have the board control. Always try to keep it.
Is it okay to take out a tiger for Harrison if going against a lot of weapon classes or is it not needed? I just feel that card draw is lacking in this deck so Harrison can help in some way
Why stranglethorn? I'm running a sludge belcher instead.
This deck is awesome :D 21 wins 8 losses :B, very good and cheap, +1
How do you deal with priests? I've been running this list for a while around rank 5 and most matchups are pretty good but the priest one seems almost unwinnable since they have answers for everything including Savannah Highmane now that they have Entomb. Is it better to go for board or just throw almost everything at face?
Okay, thanks :)
What about adding Cult master for draw combo with Unleash the hounds ? Tried it many times and I think it's very powerful.
Hi SteveFrench,
can you do a Mulligan guide?
Thanks
This deck is dead. Let it go!
Don't have Boom, added Belcher #2. Took out Houndmaster (Too Unreliable) added Hunter's mark for Juggler, Unleash and Dreadscale synergy. Considering Flare, but it's inconsistent, so...
I think i lost braincells by reading this :D
Greetings Traveler.
Thanks a lot! Registered an account just to thank you. lol
For about a week now I'd been wavering back and forth between ranks 9 to 6 using various different decks, most of which had a dust value of 2 times this one.. and playing this deck for an afternoon finally got me from Rank 9 to rank 5. Didn't keep track of the overall score, but after a couple tweaks and bit of practice with the deck, I rode a fairly smooth win streak to rank 5.
I've continued playing the deck and after a bit of wavering between rank 5 and 6, I've now gone on a win streak into Rank 4. Which while nothing generally amazing, is a personal best so I'm pretty happy with it. :)
Mostly running into problems against very aggressive decks, like face decks (Shaman, Hunter, even Druids), Rogues or Tempo mages that get a really strong start.
I made a couple revisions to the deck as I played but have now reverted most of them, if you'd care to see what changes I tried, check the spoiler below.
-1 Bear trap +1
SnakeFreezing (didn't have 2nd Bear, didn't want to craft it).-1 Webspinner +1 Flare (scared of secrets, spinner seemed kinda insignificant most games)-1 Hunter's Mark +1 Webspinner (Changed my mind about webspinner, running 2 now instead of flare + mark.)
-1 Belcher +1 Strangle Tiger (Tried Sylvana first, felt too slow, swapped it but forgot you originally had belcher and went with tiger).-1 Belcher +1 Houndmaster Belcher can be quite good especially vs aggro, but I feel like I'm missing turn 4 more than I would like, and with the second web spinner there's a slightly higher chance for a good houndmaster. Still on the fence about this 4-5 drop slot.
The Flare didn't really make much of a difference, only ran into 1 secretdin after the change and I didn't even draw it.
Update: keep not drawing Flare at all vs christmas trees. FeelsBadMan. Considering taking it out. Swapped the Snake for a second freezing since I've had another couple matches where enemies just ignore my creatures and SMOrc me down when they figure out it's snake.
Swapping Belcher in for the same reason. The Snake trap I did like having around. Though I remember it feeling rather useless in a match where a tempo mage just ignored my board and showed me how SMOrc is done. But it did prove useful in other matches, and I got a couple classic Snake Juggler combos off which looked fun if nothing else. Personally I don't like freezing much vs aggro that flood the board anyway, so I preferred having 3 different traps instead of a second freezing. The Tiger/Sylvanas/Sludge changes didn't make much difference in my games. Sylvana felt too slow in the matches I used her in initially, but that was only a couple so not really much to go on. I'd guess either of the three can do fine depending on the kind of decks you're facing.Might push for a higher rank, but at least for now I'm very happy to be getting that golden epic. :P
Thanks!
PS: I'd like to add that playing midrange hunter this season has been something of a revelation. I've previously joined in all the hunter hate, but the funny thing is that like 60% or more of the decks currently in the meta seem to be way more mindlessly aggro than midrange hunter. Even warriors and druids keep trying to SMOrc me down. lol
what to do if im out of cards so fast?> every game
Play handlock ;)
Try to pace out your cards a bit more slowly, weaving in Steady Shots where you can. For example if you have 6 mana and your hand is 3x 2 drops, and a 4 drop, it's probably better to play the 4 drop and a steady shot instead of flooding the board with 2 drops.
Where's the flare?
