Sup guys, i'm a Rogue only player since beta that have 36x Legend and 12k+ wins with the class, this is the deck i'm having a blast in Rastakhan Rumble, it's super powerful it have some insane combos, i went 9-3 in the current Tavern Brawl with it also got Legend at day 10 of the season, here are my proof and stats:
Mulligans :
You can consider keep Captain Hooktusk but NEVER keep your other pirates in any situation, this is really important!
You will mostly search for Backstab , Fire Fly (keep Cold Blood in slower matchups with that) , Prince Keleseth (obvsly keep Shadowstep with that) , SI:7 Agent (with coin), Hench-Clan Thug, Tar Creeper and Corpsetaker.
Kiwiinbacon made a video showcasing the deck, he got some really sweet games for you guys, i had alot of fun watching not gonna lie and i hope you have too :) dont forget to check out his channel and subscribe for more videos like that also to join the giveaways!
Tommy_Wave made video showcasing the deck, unfortunately he did not do well this time but it's okay we can't beat them all haha make sure to check out his channel for more awesome videos like that!
Feel free to ask any questions or leave a comment below, thank you all for the support! GLHF!
Hello guys, for those who dont have the pirates of this deck or didn't like that version for whatever reason here is the Spirit of the Shark variant that i highly recommend trying out, the spirit it's a very strong addition for the archetype he plays really well with all the battlecry and combo minions, again it's not the most easier deck to pilot but very satisfying because your decisions actually matters. I saw some players with that on the high Legend rank so it's definely worth to try, enjoy:
I like the idea of the deck, but you simply loose to odd paladin and spell hunter and secret hunter, these decks are being spammed on the ladder way too much atm, I really wish it would work tho because I loved captain hooktusk :/
Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I think those other aggro decks are way too unfair so if you are lucky enough too avoid them you can get a good winrate.
at least we can have some fun while people are still testing out things
How many games you played Arfus1? Every deck has the bad match ups you cant avoid it ... I know there are too many Hunter's and Paladin's but as you can see in my stats they are bad but winnable. You need consistency, practice and play a lot of games to really get the feel of the deck.
What can i say? thank you! after stopping hearthstone for years bc of >life i found very frustrating coming back. I always loved pirates and as i was giving up i found your list. It's awesome. You always have some kind of play to do and it takes time to master the deck and trade efficiently so a lot of fun and 0 risk to get bored after a month. I made those changes:
i've chosen not to run SI:7
+1Walk the Plank i felt i needed this
+1Assassinate too many times i couldn't activate vilespine's combo so i traded one for assassinate
Snapjaw Shellfighter it was a missclick but it works quite good you can use it before trading to avoid losing minions
Gluttonous Ooze it was in the first list (i copied your list one hour after your publication) i like it
Fungalmancer dropped one bc damn they are ALWAYS in your hand it's something incredible
Dire Mole insane when you buff it with Keleseth (yes i managed to double shadowstep at turn 1 feels good)
As you can easily figure out i made changes just because i am a bad rogue player and i can't use your version properly, there's just too much to synergize.
Very thank you for this list i am having a lot of fun
Happy i could help somehow , good luck with the climb man!
Hello! I like the list. I changed Captain Greenskin for Spirit of the Shark, but I'm having lots of problems with Hunters, all kind of them. What can I do? Today I'm a little bit tilted tbh.
First of all dont get tilted this will only make everything more difficult. :P Secondly there is not much to do about Hunter it's by far the hardest match up for this deck, you will need a highroll prefebly with Prince Keleseth opener and draw your Saronite Chain Gang / Fungalmancer also hope they dont highroll you with secret + secret + spellstone or like eggs into deathrattle activator every turn.
Against Deathrattle Hunter you will need Vilespine Slayer to take care about the 5/5's or big taunt's and Leeroy Jenkins / Captain Hooktusk to finish the game.
Well, depending of your rank the only cards that come to my mind are Argent Commander or Reckless Rocketeer and Crazed Chemist , Prince Keleseth cant be replace :P but keep in mind those cards will not be even close to Leeroy Jenkins or Vilespine Slayer.
Warrior is one of the hardest match ups for any Rogue deck besides Kingsbane, it's a naturally counter that doesn't make the deck bad. Very few people play with Warrior right now for obvsly reasons.
Like it. funny thing i got a quest for rouge and made a pirate deck just for it. It was similar but without keleseth. I used stolen steel the 2 mana pirat that makes tokes and no greenskin and fungalmancers. It was not ment to be serious but felt powerful....
I feel like second Fungalmancer is a tad greedy.
I also feel like Faldorei Strider would be a natural fit since you tend to draw a lot of cards and we're all about tempo.
It would be nice if you explain why second Fungalmancer is tad greedy.
Fal'dorei Strider doesn't fit in the deck because you tend to draw specific cards with Elven Minstrel and Cursed Castaway and it's a long run value card you want tempo cards. Sure, there is games you will draw alot of cards from Ticket Scalper but that is not enough to make fal'dorei good in this deck.
i love this deck a lot, thanks for sharing! :D <3
Thank you sir, glad you liked =)
The biggest problem with this deck so far is the curve. Sometimes you're just loaded up with 4 and 5 mana cards with nothing to do. You need backstabs and Fireflies as combo starters but also need them for early tempo. If you get Keleseth early then you're in good or if you get Hook by turn eight and aren't dead, you tend to win. And honestly that happens more than enough to win often.
But sometimes, man, you just lose without ever playing a card.
Follow up. OK, I underestimated this deck. I just shot from 10 to 5 in a single evening. Once it gets going it is non-stop pressure and tempo. And it just wrecks all the gimmicky new decks that are just too slow.
I'd say "yes", but that's actually a problem you can have with ANY deck :P Besides, Rogue seems to get (and always used to) a lot of problems from bad hands, be it a full high-drop hand, or the legendary Backstab/Prep/Prep/Coin hand.
Sometimes it just happens :C
I wonder how you can beat Spell hunter with this deck. Whenever they zuljin, it's an auto-lose.
I'll be honest with you, I wonder why you mentioned Zul'jin i just checked and in all my games against Spell Hunter i faced Zul'jin once, the games are decided before turn 10. So basically what matters on this match up is if you have an early Prince Keleseth specially with Shadowstep and they dont have spellstone, if they have secret + secret + spellstone you will 99% of the times lose the game at turn 4 (with coin) or turn 5, there is no way you beat a fully upgraded spellstone because the previous turns you will lose the tempo for Freezing Trap , Wandering Monster etc.
So the problem is not Zul'jin it's Greater Emerald Spellstone.
Great decklist mate, gg <3
Thank you Poccensir :)
