EDIT: variant running the Medivh, the Guardian package. Needs testing also. Description on how these card changes work are bellow. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1006147-speed-ball
The general idea is to keep making more Voidlord minions with Carnivorous Cube, Bloodreaver Gul'dan and N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
This is not the only thing you can do with the cards though, you can duplicate Rin, the First Disciple if you had no Dark Pact to zap her with when trying to play around silence. She can also be brought back by N'Zoth, the Corruptor to add further synergy.
There is some anti synergy as well though in the Possessed Lackey, Mistress of Mixtures and Carnivorous Cube minions being pulled by N'Zoth, the Corruptor, so replacing them with higher value deathrattle cards, or ones without death rattles may turn out to be more efficient. You'd be left with Skull of the Man'ari as a way to recruit your Voidlord though, so some sacrifices must be made.
Master Oakheart is another built in failsafe for if RNG is shafting you, you have a chance to pull a couple of taunts out. It could have better synergy by having a 2 attack taunt minion, but we don't really want Vulgar Homunculus messing up the Possessed Lackey pulls. more room for refinement if this card is to stay in the deck.
There's loads more to say, but it's all standard control stuff at this point regarding stalling and using clears to your advantage.
There are new healing mechanics, but I assume everyone knows how the Lesser Amethyst Spellstone cards work, and the value of Dark Pact.
Cntrl-Lock has a ton of tools and we have all the tech to beat everything, although some of it is highly RNG dependent. Using a Dirty Rat to pull out an Archmage Antonidas in exodia mage, or Raza the Chained in machine gun priest, is a great feeling. Sometimes it's worth keeping a slot for something like this, especially if you are facing lots of one deck. Adapt the deck to counter them.
Other noteworthy tech cards are. Gnomeferatu, Skulking Geist and Doomsayer. Arcane Tyrant can be used as further tempo regain when dropping signs and other big spells. This card has great synergy with Rin, the First Disciple and Medivh, the Guardian as this maximises on value from the seals. It Might be worth tesing with this package rather than the Master Oakheart one. In this case you would swap Tar Creeper for Stonehill Defender as the battlecry will no longer be negated by Master Oakheart
It should be noted that with Medivh, the Guardian you could also run Skull of the Man'ari over Possessed Lackey as you can override it with Atiesh before it has a chance to pull Azari, the Devourer in fact it would be optimal to play Medivh, the Guardian before the first seal if at all possible, this is where the card Bloodbloom could come into play. Sacrificing health to get Atiesh loaded and play a seal in the same turn, as well as drop Arcane Tyrant for added tempo.
Probably not ideal though, and not sure which way is the best to go yet. It's cool to have all these options though to mess around with.
Cairne Bloodhoof would probably be good in this deck. I don't have the card though so just leaving this here as advice to those that do.
That's all I can think of for now. Will edit as this progresses.
I don't think zola would have been needed, but she is a good card. I just got her in a pack so was using her.
I need to remake this for wild as there are more cards I can use now. I'm gonna update soon. this was for the last meta.
I'm confused. What is the actual deck for this? The two do NOT match up.
this is the voidlord control deck I came up with.
there are different versions in the text if thats what you mean though. the text covers all possible ways you can run the deck.
If there is something particular you'd like to know, ask me please.
PS; the deck has went through a lot of changes as well, so some stuff in the text will be from older versions of the deck. the advise still stands though, there are lots of ways similar warlock decks can be built right now. Most control type decks have the same core pretty much of removal, voidlords and lackeys.
I was just confused. Not to worry - I like the builds! Good work man!
and yes, we have enough removal and ways to create voidlords that there is no way through, even with all the silences in the world.
I was thinking of trying to add something with more of a punch, maybe giants over creepers or something, but tbh the long game is what it's built for, you have enough damage with the DK power really.
I think there is definitely some room for refinement though, just been playing my doomcube a lot. I was thinking of even adding prince taladram to this list, just not sure what I'd cut for it.
I think 2 x doomsayers could be nice as well. Miss my doomsayers, cut them from everything right now as it's just hard to fit everything in.
Thank you for sharing this deck! +
I'm a big fan of control decks and this one... WOW... Just the one I was looking for!
After so many adjustments I made to my first RinLock (trying other demons and techs), results were messy, and your deck has already given some superior results!
I have made another deck that uses the ideas behind this, and the ideas behind the "cube-lock" decks and combines them. it doesn't run creepers, but it can do the doomguard combos, and create insane ammounts of voidlords. I think it's probably the best deck right now.
adding prince taladram and face shambler (I think it's that one) make it even stronger as well. you can turn into a cube that's ate something, and it still retains the death rattle.
I unfortunately do not have either card though, and have ran out of dust so I can't try it.
You can run these instead of spiritsingewr umbra, or take all 3 for insane chances to create doomguards, then you still have the gul'dan and n'zoth plays to dup;icate your vopidlords. You can always use a cube on voidlord in this version as well, but it's best not to as you want to use gul'dan to give you back doomguards, you use n'zoth to bring back your voidlords.
This version which is purely about taunt-stalls is still really good though, you usually trick the opponent into a false sense of secruity beforew melting their face off with an endless supply of voidlords. usually after a while they just concede.
If you have any more thoughts on this deck, or any of my others (check out "Egg-zoth", "doomcube" and "doomcube mk2" for my most recent abominations. I also have a good new zoo deck called "the demons of salazar" which does need refining, but it's one of the best, faster decks right now if that's your thing)
Keep on locking.
