Very strong, but it has no demon synergy, milling is very strong in a game where theirs only a single class that has cards that are focused on destroyed cards (priest.)
Remember, it can mill any card :P, including spells and minions,
"Broken, there aren't cards in Hearthstone that can discard your opponent's cards"
Howlfiend exists, so think again.
Fel Reaver. You have to give them to your opponent first but.... so much fun.
Howlfiend discards your own cards, lol. A better example would be Coldlight Oracle and milling your opponent with one.
So what's the counter-play to this?
In other words getting lucky... just what hearthstone is all about.... ugh
You don't need a counter to it. It just removes a card from your deck, nothing more. And then it is a 2 mana 2/3, like a croc.
Wisp
This card literally pushes players towards aggro since losing a high cost legendary in control deck means you lose.
Dirty Ratv2
If we assume game does not go to fatique, the effect is somewhat equivalent to "move top card of your opponent's deck to bottom of your opponent's deck". And because cards in your deck are not actually ordered (or at least there is no way to confirm they are) the effect might be as well be "reveal bottom card of your opponent's deck". That is actually not absolutely garbage effect, but not as good as it seems at first glance, either.
Of course there are cards like The Curator, Tol'vir Warden and Patches the Pirate (and more in next expansion), and this is good card if your opponent draws into fatique, but in shorter games this remains just 2 mana 2/3 that reveals card your opponent doesn't draw. The actual benefit is that you don't have to play against 2nd equality, for example.
Trash at arena.
Ok, I missed Arcanologist, which I think now is the most relevant interaction for this card. And I did not say this card is trash at constructed. It is still slightly better than 2 mana 2/3, because sometimes your opponent manages to draw his entire deck, especially as combo deck. This might be played as filler card, in addition to mill warlock, if someone manages to create such deck. Also, when single Gnomeferatu does about nothing, 2 with Brann Bronzebeard might have significant effect in control matchups, as it might bring your opponent to fatique.
My point was not that this is a bad card but to point out that it does not on average destroy your opponent's good cards.
And at arena this is bad, because the effect affects completely randomly to your opponent's deck, about "your opponent only drafted 29 cards". What I actually forgot is that 2 mana 2/3 is decent arena card.
now handlock can win jade druid if they managed to burn both of their jade idol
Fatigue warlock hype
Suerely the people saying this card is borderline broken never played Magic (a 5 mana spell that removes half of your deck....Balanced). Personally, I love this card.
And they never played against a mill deck before.
Would it be worth it to run Brewmasters just for this card? Every time you remove a bad card from your opponent's deck, there's a better chance, that your next Gnomeferatu will get rid of something better. OTOH, removing a 'bad' card from your opponent's deck might actually be beneficial to them.
If a rogue gets this card from the [Get card from opponent's class] effect, they can be pretty annoying, maybe a quest rogue using this card to finish their quest.
In the meanwhile, while you keep bouncing and removing random cards, your opponent proceeds to win the game.
does this count as a discard effect for card effects such as the warlock quest or Blood-Queen Lana'thel. if so that is amazing
The reference to Nosferatu is good, but fucking with your opponents cards is even better! Especially if you play this on curve, it could fuck with a persons entire game! I love this so much.
