Ok so I got this card from a pack 2 days ago and been playing around with some decks and my final conclusion is that this card just sucks in its current state. It is way to slow and even with a perfect draw and you manage to complete the quest turn 4 and drop your 8/8 turn 5, you're far from guaranteed a win. It would be great if this card would get some changes to make it more viable.
Meta defining my ass! This card sucks and I regret crafting it. First you have to dilute your deck with a bunch of 1drops making you defenseless and play catch up for half the game then when the 8/8 comes out it's (Of course) insta killed, what you have left is a deck full of 1 drops, an empty hand a board dominated by your opponent and your last hope is what? drawing a 3/2 raptor?? in turn 8-9??? wow...just wow...
Now let's assume you're a bit smarter and decide to go a mix of mid range with about 8 1 drops to complete this quest as a secondary win condition. Well now you have a very inconsistent deck that you'll either never complete the quest or, if you're lucky, complete it when the game is already over.
Worthless, I only play it for fun
I regret crafting this. It is basically a 5-mana 8/8. You have to weaken your deck by including bunch of 1-drops if you want to clear the quest asap or you could clear it much slower by fitting in only seven 1-drops (2xFire Fly).
Now it doesn't matter if you cleared the quest early or late because at turn 5 if you drop this you get an 8/8 and nothing else, you have to wait a turn and then maybe you get started on the Carnassa's Brood train. Queen Carnassa should at least start you off with a "draw a card" text or if the developers were generous "add a Carnassa's Brood to your hand"
Edit: I didn't attempt a full control hunter with the quest, if anyone did please enlighten me how it went
^ This, maybe if Queen Carnassa and her brood had charge this would be playable a Kamikazee deck, but the way it is now you're basically ruining your deck to get this out and when it does there's no payoff. Carnassa dies instantly, maybe you get a few raptors MAYBE and then what? the other quests instantly give you a big chance to win but not Hunter's this Quest has no impact at all because it's not worth the drawbacks.
Man, i really hoped that this card would be good, as it turns out this card is actually one of the worst of the expansion. what a shame
They need to give a refund to the poor people who crafted this sizzling hot pile of shit during the first hours, literally 1200 dust wasted.
why the card text says "seven" but not "7" likes other quests?
so people won't read it play 71 cost minions
They'd be retarded to read it like that
Then explain Fiery War Axe nerf
If I get a gold marsh queen quest, will the Carnassa be golden as well? same goes for the brood.
Yes, any golden card that creates new cards will create golden copies of those cards.
Ahh, thanks. I wasn't so sure because the hearthstone wiki did not have the golden Carnassa and raptors displayed.
I've been playing with this card for a while and discovered some pretty useful information about this card.
1. Cards that summon a 1-drop minion on the field like Alley Cat only count as 1 not two (this applies to deathrattles as well)
2. Unleash the Hounds does not work with this quest :(
3. The cards must be played from your hand to count.
I hope in the future blizzard will tweak this card to include some of these changes in the future to make it a bit stronger. i hope this helps you guys.
Yes, that's why the text says PLAY and not SUMMON
just spreading the word man
they mustve forgot to put the rest of the text on this card: When this card is played, draw 90% less 1 drops
i crafted this one, played with it, so much hope and now i am sad, not recommend spend dust on it, not balanced card, need to be fixed to "summon", slow to play with, for example in compare to shaman's Unite the Murlocs because play < summon (2 mana = 2 murlocs, 4 mana = 4 murlocs in one turn, so 10 is much easyer to get then 7) I wish i could spend this dust on shaman's quest or rogue's (which is insane)
actually pretty good in midrange hunter with minimum cards to complete this quest, better than in my first agro face deck (with 15! 1 cost minions :) )
Omg, between every Beast 1 drop, Fire Fly and Tol'vir Warden I can finish this quest anywhere between t4 and t6..
Then Play Queen Carnassa
Then wreck them with Infest/Stampede and the never-ending raptors
This quest is so easy! xD, and its been a lot of fun playing too lol
^ This is fucking BS unless you're under rank 20
