don't forget arena, this is a great addition for Druids
We finally get a 1 mana 2/2 and is just for druids D:
at least it's not a 1/3 minion that has some crazy domino effect.
Enchanted Raven- Personally, I don't believe this card will start the Beast Druid deck which Blizzard is trying so hard to start. It is a 1 mana 2/2 body, with the added benefit of being a beast, but the problem that Druid has is the underlying lack of beast synergy. If you were to run a beast deck the only 2 cards which would be playable (due to their concrete advantage in value) is Mark of Y'shaarj and Druid of the Fang (for which Enchanted Raven would be amazing when activating them). Unfortunately the rest of the beast synergy cards do not justify enough value to overcome most other decks. Such cards as Wildwalker, Addled Grizzly, and Knight of the Wild, don't provide enough threat on the board, or are too situational or expensive, to truly joust out the other decks currently in the meta. So the deck would only have about 2 cards that actually combo with beasts, and in my opinion would be a lesser threat than is currently out there.
'Start' the beast druid? It's already a viable deck, got to legend last season with beast druid.
I don't think the Enchanted Raven would see play in beast druid though, as the usual turn 1 is Innervate + Mounted Raptor.
Wildwalker, Addled Grizzly and Knight of the Wild are and will be trash.
Wildwalker trash? It's not a perfect card, but I wouldn't call it trash-tier...The buff is quite strong and 4/4 stats are nothing to be ashamed.
You are right, I might have been too harsh with the wording.
What I meant was that Wildwalker is unplayable because of the fast meta. This card would be good in a slower meta to offer value trades. As of now there are a lot of Warlocks and Warriors on the ladder who can get rid of high health minions very easily.
It seems that the meta will never slow down to what it was in times of Beta, rendering the card useless.
As for Grizzly, it's a Power of the Wild for 3 mana and no flexibility. Knight of the Wild does nothing as it's a dead card until mid game, and when you finally play it, it doesn't impact the board enough. Think of it as a worse Thing From Below, as it has to be in your hand for the cost reduction, has no taunt, and requires you to play an almost fully beast deck.
This is not going to be nearly as good as people think. Its mediocre at best and will only see play in Beast Druid. Remember that i am the first who told you this.
it's gonna be good for arena. I am gonna wait until we see the rest of the set until I judge it's constructed viability.
I agree with you, Yuvalito. People are grossly overestimating the card.
Remember Zombie Chow? 1 mana 2/3. That extra health means a ton.
Raven will only work if you have a god hand and can buff it straight away, in which case Innervate + Mounted Raptor would be far better anyway. It's a better-than-average drop *from* Mounted Raptor though, so I'm happy they made it.
You do understand that raven then mark has the exact same probability of being in your starting hand as innervate + raptor right?
Actually better because you get turn 2 draw....
its funny, you say one is a god hand and you say the other is the "usual play"
Doctor 1 for druids.
Common? Arena Druid is already looking promising this expansion.
Tunnel Trogg and Mana Wyrm say "Hi."
When I saw this card on stream I immediately facepalmed... why are you doing this Blizz?
