not really its pretty good for playing 8 mana minions and stuff that are in the back of your and and mostly if you mostly and only have spells in your hand this is pretty useful youu're already hating before it releases like how many people said mysterious challenger was gonna suck really bad it was actually a really good card
He seems interesting, although there is a high chance he will be removed at once. And if he's not, 10 dmg to face means what he summons will make very little difference - not to mention that bringing a minion out of your deck & on the table has always meant that battlecries are lost, so I am assuming that's the case here as well.
Pure ramp (no combo at all) druid has been probably my most favourite deck style, and I was always expecting Aviana to increase in value, so it will be cool to see how this will work in that context. BUT: if Big Game Hunter isn't properly nerfed + if Healbot-Belcher-Zombie Chow-Deathlord-Loatheb-Zombie Chow etc. are not properly replaced with other cards as quick aggro counters in Standard, all the terror-filled huge gods and their minions will mean very little when the usual "bang-bang-bang-you're dead" happens.
I'm also a Ramp Druid main, but I don't see that card fitting in at all.Ancient of Lore, Ancient of War, Cenarius,Keeper of the Grove have much less impact if their ability doesn't activate. When my opponent plays Death Lord, I'm rarely satisfied with the outcome of the deathrattle. I don't think it will be any different with Y'shaarj.
Most certainly the weakest Old God so far, but it might have minions that synergize with it which haven't been shown yet. As is, the only way this is going to work is with Ancestor's Call in Wild.
If you play him it means you have a lot big high-value minions in your deck, so turn 4 you probably have 3-5 minions in your hand and lets say he is one of them. You want yolo play Ancestor's Call turn 4?
I'm thinking more as a turn 8-10 play that doesn't actually cost 10 mana.
No he's not, he didn't guarantee that a minion gets put on the field, also varian is a terrible card for warrior, would of worked better on a paladin or druid.
Druid? With all the choose one effects that don't trigger I question the value of this. Plus getting Ancient of Lore pulled out isn't the best thing in the world.
I read all the negative feedback about Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound being underwhelming ...by itself... but that's it really, it's way too early to judge it without seeing the full context from rest of the old gods set considering that so far N'zoth the Corruptor and espacially C'Thun get a lot of their values from combos and synergy with other new cards. Can't wait to see the rest of the set, especially the remaining class legendaries and Yogg Saron.
It's basically a neutral version of Varian Wrynn with higher stats, but a lesser effect. A card like this is a sure sign that BGH is getting the nerf bat...
The perfect Topdeck after Astral Communion Turn 1/2.
This could see limited play, in control type decks with Ysera, ragnaros, taunts. Would have to play it later in the game with less cards in the deck so you have an idea what it would pull out. Also Ancestral Call deck could work well with this. Keep in mind the level of quality of cards will drop in standard and cards may become viable that weren't before.
Ancestor's Call
not in standard =(
Ancestor's Call won't be in Standard, though. But yeah, nice combo. Ancestor's Call allows so much crazy things, I'm sad it's so rare to see it played :(
Only if it triggered battlecries...
Unlike Varian, this not only ruins battlecries but also ruins charge effects too. If this has some synergies it might be played.
I was hoping for some 7 sha heads shenanigans... this is so luckluster... NotLikeThis
"the greatest of them all" yeahh pff
People are are comparing this to Varian...
I think it's actually a bit better, since it guarantees a minion. Variant could come up empty and be a 7/7 for 10 mana. This is a 10/10 and guarantees a minion.
The reason why Varian is not played not because of consistency but because it's effect genereally is BAD. You don't want to play tons of insane creatures without battlecry just to let your opponent super value brawl or eqality combo it and versus aggro and midrange its just too slow. This won't be played for exact same reasons.
