The more i think about this card, the better I think it is. It even synergies with Northshire Cleric, allowing for some big Circle of Healing plays.
Well it just kills the Cleric so you would have to have a PWS first
You either play it with a buffed Cleric or play cleric after. Not uncommon.
That's exactly what you want your opponent to think.
Face hunter, for example, relies heavily on getting low health minions with high attack and charge on the board. Giving it to the hunter will probably result in forcing the opponent an extra hand in his hand that he did not want
Because Face Hunter would really want to play this card? Hint, they wouldn't. Also, giving it them possibly causes them to miss a draw since it's a completely useless card for them.
Because it does damage to your own minions when played, so you'd put this card in a very reactive, fatigue styled priest deck. Since it does damage to your own minions, your opponent will probably never want to use it. It's like a decent board clear, then your opponent draws it and it denies them a card draw which could be huge!
This is clearly Blizz atempt to help priest against patron, before they realized they had to nerf the deck. lol
This expansion's gonna suck, i just hope the bosses are fun.
I believe Hellfire is cheaper because it actually damages face. So hellfire has a drawback that's always present. This on the other hand has a second part that can be either a drawback or a godsend. Against control decks this helps keep the board clean. Against aggro this will wipe their board and later acts as card advantage since it's unlikely they'll ever use this card. Though I would be kinda happy if they dropped it to Hellfire's cost.
What, entomb is possibly the best removal in game
So? Even dragon priest doesn't rely on synergy alone. Most decks run at least a few minions that are just high value and don't explicitly synergize, case and point Dr. Boom. Most of the time if you're hitting a minion with a hard removal like this, it's a pretty big threat. Having lots of big threats in your deck is only ever really a bad thing because you might draw it before you can play it. The nature of this card prevents that in 99% of cases. The only times you won't be able to play it right away is if it was innervated out, spawned from another card, or is a giant, and even then you'll be able to play it within a turn or two. Having an extra big threat put in your deck late game is fantastic. I can't think of a single priest deck where I would have a problem adding in Dr. Boom, Savannah Highmane, Tirion, Antonidas, or some other high value minion. The only case where it's not as good as even polymorph is if the minion is only powerful because of buffs.
TLDR: Definitely one of the best removals in the game. It bypasses deathrattles, completely removes a big threat, and gives it to you, which would rarely be a bad thing. Especially for priest
Are you kidding me, recycle just delays the inevitable, imagine putting tirion in YOUR deck without the battlecry activating, that means you dont even need to run silence.
Good control card in my opinion, priests minions have a lot of health so giving AoE card to opponent seems OK for me. And having better AoE is great. Amazing anty-aggro card.
It's not that it's a bad card, it's that it's outclassed by other priest cards. Lightbomb is one mana more and is a more effective board clear, and holy nova is the same cost while simultaneously healing and not giving your opponent an extra clear. It's basically only an anti aggro card.
I think that this card is good against aggro and midrange decks since 3 damage is good against midrange minions, and you are giving your opponent card that they don't want to play. But it depends on your deck type, sometimes Holy Nova is straight up better, sometimes Lightbomb is better but I think that in control this one might be the best AoE (Chillmaw is amazing too but requires dragon and can be silenced).
This card seems to be very useful in control decks, and if you think about control decks Holy Nova is just weaker, 3 damage AoE is way better than 2 damage AoE. Lightbomb is situational so sometimes amazing and sometimes almost useless. So for control deck this card seems better than other priest options + you might want to add 6 AoE cards to deck anyways.
Really boosts priest in arena as it is another AOE, but in constructed, outside of a spell based priest, it is a Hellfire that does not damage heroes for one more mana, overall I do not see this card seeing much play outside of arena.
Patron Warrior nerf, thanks blizz
What's a Patron Warrior?
Interesting card!
