this is a freaking cool skill plus the 5/7 mage guy, this will ruin everyone's day
Anyone else having issues with this card? I've been using this card consistently and it doesn't seem to spawn the 6 dmg torch
Update: it works as designed, just verified in two games.
I was able to get the 3 mana 6 dmg Torch in a Practice game, first try. However, there was no animation associated with it putting the card in my deck. The deck simply updated and I drew the card later.
Check the card count on your deck before and after you play this card. The Torch does indeed go in there. There's just no animation for it.
How do people have this card already, keep seeing it on ladder
About 4 hours ago blizzard put the NEW Adventure for sale and then removed it about 20 mins ago :(
was released to early, so maybe thats why.
animation was the same as fireball, would be pretty lame.. :S

This card belongs into Grinder Mage and probably nothing elsewhere - to slow for tempo mage (atleast thats my guess) and to clunky for freeze mage
It's great for Freeze mage, good pairing with Antonidas and is another 6 burst dmg towards late game if needed for creature removal or to finish off.
i would agree in general - but what will you remove for that? i dont see the place right now - and you have to consider as already someone said before - if you draw it twice, then you need to draw even more cards to find Emperor Thaurissan and Alexstrasza
This is easily a replace for Frostbolt [/card] or[card]Fireball... iif you consider the value, it's like getting both spells into your deck for the cost of 1 card. Of course you'll not want to replace both of them, but if you run 2 x Forgotten Torch and 2 x Fireball you have now improved the total burn in your deck from 18 damage to 30 damage! If you are playing a faster Tempo mage deck, you would be more likely to cut the Flamecannon or the Fireball so as to keep the cheaper Frostbolt. In this case, there is still nothing but upside.., you increase your decks total burn from 18 damage to 24 damage, as well as open up the possibility for still more value through using the Forgotten Torch in the early game to buff up your Mana Wyrm or trigger your Flame Waker, then in the late game draw the Roaring Torch in time to combo with Archmage Antonidas.
I think of all the new cards in the expansion, this one is going to be by far the most played. It's a wet dream of value, and I am certain it's going to be an auto include in basically every mage deck going forward.
There is no value, this card is a 3/3 and a 3/6, totaling to 6/9. Frostbolt + Fireball is also 6/9. The value, I see none. Besides the value, replacing a card in Freeze mage where there are NO cards to remove is a bad idea, especially if you're trading a Frostbolt out for it. Frostbolt is 2/3 AND a freeze, which allows for combos such as Emperor Thaurissan + Frostbolt(1) + Ice Lance(0) + Ice Lance(0), which deals 11 damage for one mana.

One more buff for fatigue mage.
Forgotten Torch seems to work really well in old mech mage decks that run Archmage Antonidas for spare part synergy.
I think the tempo mages out and about now can handle paying one more in the early game for more combo potential later with other cards. It will also make them more controlish!! I like this card, this plus frostbolts and flame cannon makes for a wide array of removal especially with flamewaker! Can't wait to try this.
seeing this in fatigue where you need that extra 1 card to help survive it before the oponent.
freezemage comes to mind but they need their combo pieces and this card makes alex-emperror-antonidas a bit harder to draw,
more fireballs is good tho. dunno this card seems good to me. i think it will see play in a more aggressive shell
At least it is a card that can be used as early removal in Freeze Mage, not sure where else this card could go...
