Funny fact. 79.5% of the decks are for the same 4 classes (each player had to pick 4). The other 5 classes combined make up the remaining 20.5%.
Not sure how significant this stat is. For example in the 2018 America playoffs, four classes (Druid, Paladin, Rogue, and Warlock) made up 77% of the decks brought (see https://www.hearthpwn.com/news/5541-hct-americas-summer-playoffs-2018-full-decklists). 79.5% doesn't seem high to me.
Most classes have their ups and downs. They are never exactly equal in strength. So it is perfectly normal for four classes to make up the majority of decks brought.
What is significant about this event (as well as the other playoffs held this month), is the wide variety of deck archetypes brought. We see some classes with 4 or 5 viable archetypes now, and a total number of archetypes that is approximately 30. Whereas the number of distinct archetypes in the tournament from last summer referenced above is only 20.
We have more diversity in the game than ever before.
No asia survival guide... Feelsbadman.
Imagine being the 1 hunters without Deathstalker Rexxar
Looked at the stats and was amazed to find no Even Paladins. Then went down and stopped counting when I got to 30 of them...
Not all deck archetypes have names written next to the chart, try hovering over the bars. There are 33 Even Paladins in the tournament, making it the third most frequent deck after Secret Hunter and Odd Rogue.
Algorithm is weird though... the most popular Paladin archetype isn't labeled for some reason...
I got that, Though it's very misleading. When it's a top16 for an HCT championship, I don't mind, but when you have 70+ Players, with, like you said, the 3rd most frequent deck...
It's probably just me, I'll just hover over the bars from now on.
First thing that comes to mind when I see that 16 people are bringing Quest rogue
While I'm not a fan of quest rogue either, I disagree with your logic. Balancing is not about nerfing an archetype into oblivion such that no one ever dares to play it again. It's about reducing it to be on par with other viable builds.
I agree with you, I prefer well thought balancing over nuking cards/archetypes. It was just a joke about quest rogue always finding its way back
Garbage meta filled with huntards and their infinite value rexxar.. rotation cant come soon enough
OTK fiesta...
We'll see if any of them get high enough like it was in the Americas... My own experience teaches me Secret Hunters stomps most OTKs pretty hard when both have a reasonable draw.
