Naxxramas Card Reveal - Legendary Minion: Loatheb
A new card from the Curse of Naxxramas Adventure has appeared on the PlayHearthstone Twitter account and it's a Neutral Legendary! You can find more information about Curse of Naxxramas here.
Quote from Ben BrodeGetting a lot of questions about Millhouse Manastorm/Loatheb interaction. Millhouse then Loatheb = 5 cost spells. Loatheb then Millhouse = 0 cost.
Naxxramas Card Recap
It's been a while since we've seen new cards, so check out all the old ones! Don't forget, if you'd like Naxxramas (and more) card tooltips on your site, check out our tooltips.
Why did Blizzard unveil this card before the Maexxna one, if Maexxna's is located in the first wing? Strange...
Very interesting and powerful card, have to draw it though, it's not, put in your deck and now beat every miracle rogue you see lol. I even see Miracle rogue running this card, draw out their deck and then play this...sucks to be on the receiving end of that one
Tempo rouge comeback? This guy seems like he would fit pretty well in that deck since he is anti tempo for your opponent. You typically have board control with that deck and after you drop him you get a turn free from the miracle, savage roar combo, equality clear, ect... so a free turn of face smashing.
im really excited for naxx
Control and Miracle will encounter a lot of problems, and the slightly slower Zoo decks will probably run this. Also, an interesting combo would be Shadowstepping him for restriction of almost all spells.
So this card will be available the 2nd/3rd week? After that week it will turn from nerf Miracle to nerf Cancer/Backspace/Turn6 Rouge since my gut says that will see much more play after this card is released (Yay more Shadowstep + Leeroy combos)
Mill(er) Lite
Imagine a rogue mill deck with Lorewalker Cho + Loatheb + Coldlight Oracles + King Mukla + Saps + Youthful Brewmaster + Shadowstep.
You could essentially "replay" Loatheb each turn and reactivate his battlecry leaving your opponent with a ton of high-cost spells and a lot of discarded cards! =D This sounds really fun! Anub'ar Ambusher + Dancing Swords may have a use afterall. Keep track of me for a decklist soon.
I so love the PERFECT WORLD we live in.........no wait.the perfect combo comes up like...never. I'd love to play a beginner deck against a deck that needed 2-5 cards for a perfect combo to work any day.
You mean...you don't have the hack that allows you to select which cards you draw?
So it's Turn 9 and I'm at 14 health or below with a strong board presence facing a Druid that I suspect has the FoN + Savage Roar combo? Oh, hello there Loatheb!
New meta millhouse( First ) + Loatheb = a 4/4 and a 5/5 for 7 mana and screw your opponent so he can't kill your minions without wasting his whole turn
I was thinking about that combo, too. Ok, you need both cards.. Still: Very cool, that Loatheb kind of makes Millhouse Manastorm viable ^^
I can't wait for this card to come out. I'll be running it in every single deck I have.
and here's your counter to miracle rogues
The interesting thing about all the Naxx legendaries (and i don't see discussed which is strange) is that unlike any other legendary (or card for that matter) in the game, every single person who gets Naxx is pretty much guaranteed to get the card. I mean i've been playing since launch and don't have Sylvanas or Millhouse…but I can guarantee I'll have Loatheb and that accessibility to the card by the majority of the playerbase will change the meta all on it's own.
Well you still need to finish the Adventure witch may take some time (depending how much you can play every day), but yeah! I agree this is a major difference for people who arrived in the game in the last 3 months and still don't have all the fancy legendaries like as Alextrasza and all.
Yeah, I'm 100% F2P and don't have any legendaries. But I have almost 2800 gold saved up, so I'll end up with all these legendaries from Naxx.
Pretty cool, at least for me :)
Pretty much a fantastic card in its own right. We need more cards that give the meta more weaknesses, so the meta becomes variety, and not RNG draws where everyone runs the same few decks.
This is a really interesting card. I look forward to playing with it and watching streams where it's played.
Delaying your opponent's combo for a turn is obviously a big deal, but that's dependent on correctly predicting when the combo is going to occur and spending five mana on the turn you need to kill them.
Delaying removal or board sweeps requires a similar degree of finesse. Because, unless you have board presence worth protecting, you're basically playing Stranglethorn Tiger.
Basically, assuming the meta makes Loatheb worth playing, games will be won and lost based on the timing of Loatheb. And that's awesome.
Tiger isn't a bad card by itself.
I always assume that a Board Clear is gonna happen the turn the opponent has enough Mana, Loatheb just guarantees they don't. And if they had it, it really swings things in your favor.
I can't wait to see what the other cards do now... Please, tuesday, come fast.. >_<
