Wait, why in the world having brand new archetypes means that the game is dead? It's more alive than ever!
Well another way to create sorcerer apprentice for OTK mage.
hey remember a card called ice block? yeah it's rotating out of standard this expansion.
I cant think of any minions that are really good when you have multiple copies of them, outside of niche comboes like Sorcerers Apprentice. So you probably just put this in a minion heavy deck along with Book of Sceptres , Arcane Intellect and Aluneth to gain some insane value. Might not be good right away because theres so little cards in the standard pool, but itll definitely see play in the future. ( Also it looks really cool in wild, maybe giants mage turns out good due to the new minion drawing tools)
Yet drawing 4 - 6 cards with aluneth each turn might be a little too much :v
One punch mage
They really want zoo mage to be a thing, huh...
spiteful mage is coming. no more spellz!
At least they are supporting new archetypes that have not really been explored before. Diversity is good for the game. You don't want every deck to be a variation on the same thing over and over again. I find it hilarious when people post a deck that they took to legend and they write a guide for it and everything and all it turns out to be is the same old cookie cutter meta deck with just 2 tech cards changed out. "It's not tempo secret mage. This is Silence Mage because I teched in 2 Spellbreakers. Meta Breaker!!!"
Unexpected. I was predicting this with a way bigger body and some crazy effect like summoning worgen or transforming minions into worgen. Because that's Arugal y'all, he's a powerful sorcerer and an important figure in Gilneas. Still a very good card tho, I like it.
I was playing my homebrewed Spiteful Elemental Mage lately, it's surprisingly decent. This card also fits in there. But I'll need a good replacement for Firelands Portal for sure.
Combine this with Kelseth for some major OP winning!!
That's why this card and 3 draw card spell cost two
except this costs 2...
Ahhh yes!! But when you mulligan this with Kelseth in the beginning, you win. Or use the pull cards to get as many units in hand and get yourself to a point where you can draw kelseth while this is on the board. :D
Like Big Spell Priest, except Small Minion Mage.
Why not just play rouge with shadowsteps lol
That would be FAR to simple my friend.
The strangest thing is that Blizzard try to do mage based on miniona. Doesnt this break class identity, which they try to protect all the time. Dont understand me wrongly. Actually it is very good to change classes and to make them look fresh. I just hope that this will not push mage to some stupid agro deck, like pirate warrior and paladins now, because it will be sad.
I think the set tries to push minions on each class and downplay spells, particularly with Mage. Look at the new card draw spell, for example.
