Removal for Warrior & Mage?
This is Execute for odd warrior. Needs a ping to work just like this card.
a 2 steps removal isnt good in my honest opinion. especially one that can be silenced or Sap hers an example for one step removal Shadow Word: Death
Yeah, but here's what you're missing: there have been tons of decks that've been played that don't run removal spells, because they're building a big single spell theme. Spiteful Priest for example. Better believe Spiteful Priest will run two of this card. I can see it going into a lot of control decks too. I think this card will find several homes.
Execute was someting warriors use often even after nerf when they go for controll
say that "2 steps removal" stuff again...
yea I agree this is worse than execute because you cant damage it by your own minions but smiler enought
you forget that Execute cost one mana less and thats before the nerf back in the day it cost 1 mana.Voodoo Doll cost 3 mana, thats a big deal. its worst because you could use execute on a minion that was damaged from the last turn or use a minion that you have on board to damage it. with Voodoo Doll you put it on the table for 3 mana. and then you either waste more mana and a card to remove it {witch is basically remove 2 cards and 3+ mana to destroy an enemy minion) or leave it on board and hope it wont get silenced and become a 3 mana 1/1.
Spiteful Priest is a tempo deck, it dosnt need it because the idea of this deck is to have bigger minions than your opponent. there is a reason no one played Moat Lurker. actually im not sure about the future of this deck because many of its cards going to the wild.
Actually, one of the best cards ever in terms of card design. Love it.
REALLY cool card. They nailed the flavour, mechanic, just about everything... I really think this will be staple in mage (and maybe rogue decks) decks for the upcoming two years, at least in slower mage decks.
It's hard to say whether or not Voodoo Doll has a place in any class, If you assume it's going to be used as a removal tool (rather than some tricky activator for killing your own minions, etc.), then it's a removal which a) triggers deathrattles and b) costs somewhere between 4 and 5 for most classes. Mage and Shaman already have better removal at that cost in the form of Polymorph and Hex respectively. Warlock has Lesser Amethyst Spellstone, which is less reliable in some ways, but better in others. Priest has cheaper removal tools (albeit with a 4 attack gap). The list goes on. Not to mention that in cases of aggro where you're using removal to get through a taunt (like Voidlord), you'd probably just prefer to use Spellbreaker.
Perhaps Voodoo Doll can be effective in some kind of combo, but as removal it is probably heavily outclassed.
The best thing about this card is that it might replace Doomsayer in some decks. It's completely beyond me why that fucker isn't in the hall of fame yet.
[card[Doomsayer[/card] isn't hall of famed yet cause it doesn't see much play in anything but control decks and even then its still a 50/50 if you run it or not. the card is also unplayable in aggro/mid-range decks because its always a dead draw and disrupts you too much to play. Now replacing Doomsayer in decks...i highly doubt that. it would most likely be a two card combo. while doomsayer can just be played and clear an entire board or at least threaten it enough to were they have to trade into it, meaning they don't hit face. if you tired to play this card like you do doomsayer they can just ignore it completely. its a nice card and might see some play in combo decks but i highly doubt it will ever reach tier 1 but maybe if everything plays EXACTLY right it could be in a tier 2 deck.
Conclusion: cool card, cool effect, not likely to see high play but could. (ill gladly be wrong)
The way you describe it, half of all control decks have Doomsayer in it, and a big part of all decks are control atm.
That's a lot of decks to all include the same card out of the 500-or-so neutral minions we currently have in standard.
Finally! Mage gets Assassinate! Just what mages needed!
is this sarcastic?
(i think it is)
I think Skulking geist is the mvp card need to get fast in this meta as many cheap spells being played haha
Yo, odds control warrior is getting tools
Works exceptionally well with "return once dead" cards for consistent removal, like Sonya Shadowdancer, Spirit Echo, and to a lesser extent Cheat Death.
Should be good with loc with Dark Pact, Mortal Coil and Defile, and early and cheap removal if paired with Animated Berserker, or pretty much any Warrior card at all. Works with Houndmaster Shaw, but triggered deathrattle are just for combo'd same turn removal and will just leave you with a 1/1 once its dead.
Hell I'll probably run it in a Frost Lich Jaina deck too.
Will add some fun removal, but won't be gamebreaking.
