Preparing for Naxxramas With Jotto
Jotto joins us today and he's got quite a bit to say with regards to preparing for the upcoming adventure, Curse of Naxxramas. Topics discussed during the video include: Saving Gold, Public Perception, Theorycrafting, Play Testing, and Basic overview of announced cards. It is worth noting that Jotto and other Hearthstone theorycrafters have been busy playing with the new cards on Cockatrice trying to develop strategies before the adventure is released which is why play testing is discussed in the video.

May I request that in the future that streams aren't embedded in the homepage but linked to instead? I cannot access streaming media while at work and therefore cannot access your homepage when there is an embedded stream. If this is just an issue for me and no one else you can happily disregard it :) (I will also make a post in site feedback as that may be the more appropriate spot for this)

A bitter sweet tournament. The chat issue with RDU is really borderline, it did not happened once, instead many times. I hope the tournament teams take note of this and offer next time fresh accounts with all cards and without friends. This way the issue can be prevented.
HELLO MOM! Well, fuck Blizzard. It's their fault that someone can cheat during a tournament. We are awaiting an bnet chat offline mode for years now!
Is there any place where I can rematch the matches? Got timezones mixed up and missed some games.
Has the 3k cost been confirmed by anyone at Blizzard? Cuz I don't recall anyone anywhere saying anything about actual costs. And if it's gonna be that price, then I can go back to spamming Arenas again since I'm sitting at about 4600 gold or so. Or heck just buying a ton of packs.
According to the leaked info on that chinese site, its 5k for all wings.
Not confirmed that I've heard. From what Jotto said in the video, it's just what he thought was a safe bet.
I wouldn't splurge until the pricing is officially revealed, personally.
Are there vods up for the dreamhack stream? I missed group A.
[SPOILER]
I want to see it too. The results are wonky. It shows Reynad in second place in Group A, yet the results show Reynad losing his second place match. So some error was made on the site.
Yay, DreamHack :P
I looked again, about an hour ago, and they corrected the results on the site (Reynad did indeed finish second in group A). (I would have watched the matches, but I missed them live and cannot find the VOD).
Excuse me,but i am quite new to card games, and would like to know: What is this "Cockatrice" ? I believe it have something to do with MtG? I already saw players commenting about it on the official forum, but never understood what they meant.
Cockatrice is a CCG emulator originally designed to play Magic: the Gathering online, but it can be used for a lot of magic-like games.
It exists in a sort of nebulous legal territory, if you care about that sort of thing. The program itself is almost certainly legal, but the datasets to emulate certain games contain a lot of copyrighted material.
So there's presumably a Hearthstone + Naxx dataset for people who want to play with the cards before they're released.
Personally? I wouldn't bother with it. There's already a program on my computer to play Hearthstone for free. But I can see why people might use it to test upcoming stuff.
As far as pricing goes, the big question is whether the cards you get are worth 3000 gold. I am am free to play and have not spent a single dollar on the game. Consequently, I have far less of my library filled - this makes me question the value of a dozen cards without which I will surely be able to do without, simply by not subscribing to the deathrattle FotM and crafting the decks I actually want with 300 cards I obtained from thirty packs.
Well Naxx is going to be 30 cards and we can assume that they are going to give us 2 copies of all the non legendarys. Since all wings are going to have a legendary that is atleast 4 legendarys and I would think its pretty safe to guess no more then that.
So 26x2+4=56 cards
You can say that this is only worth 11 packs so 1,1k but you have the keep the card quality in mind. 4 legendarys in 11 packs is quite abit more then average and on top of that there is also atleast 1 epic from the shade.
On top of this im guessing there are also going to be challenges to get golden cards and if you are into that kind of stuff then you can see the naxx set as 2x 56 cards.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you dont "just" get the cards from naxx but you also get to play with the bosses and that is most likely going to be pretty fun.
Its ofc all personal prefrence and you can do what ever the fuck you want but I think aslong as it <5k then its pretty fair.
It`s going to be 5 legendaries.
A very nice overview of new card strength. It's good that some people are already playtesting them. I can't wait to construct my Deathlock, a deathrattle-themed Zoolock deck.
They said it will be during summer, my guess would be august, so not next season but the one after.
Yes, it's entirely possible we'll see Naxx in July.
He wasn't asking if you think it will happen, he asked if it was possible. See my post for the actual answer instead of an answer pulled from someone's ass.
