Should've been 2/2, like Argent Protector. With premium stats plus beast tag plus buff, it certainly looks OP. But then I guess Blizzard is just trying to promote Hunter.
Jesus Christ this card is bonkers, at first it just looks good - but when you think about it;
The options for Adapt are: Divine Shield, +3 Attack, Deathrattle: Summon two 1/1 Plants, Windfury, Untargetable by Spells and Hero Powers, Taunt, +1/+1, +3 Health, Stealth until your next turn or Poisonous.
If you want one specific adaptation your chance to get it is 30%, if you want 2 out of the 10 it's 53%. if you want 3 out of the 10 it's 71%, if you want 4 out of the 10 it's 83%, if you want 5 out of the 10 it's 92%, if you want 6 out of the 10 it's 0.97% and if you want 7 out of the 10 it's 99%.
This means that as long as there's 3 or more good adaptations it's worth it to run this card. (which there obviously is, the worst option seems to be Taunt)
- If you get the +1/+1 Adaptation this is a Shattered Sun Cleric for 1 less mana and with Beast tag.
- If you get the +3 Health Adaptation this is a Kabal Talonpriest for 1 less mana, with Beast tag and 2 less Health. (and that card is broken as f)
- If you get the Divine Shield Adaptation this is a Argent Protector with +1 Attack and Beast tag.
- If you get the +3 Attack Adaptation this is a Lance Carrier with +2 Attack that gives +1 Attack more to the targeted minion - and it has Beast tag.
- If you get the Windfury Adaptation this is a Windspeaker with 1 less Health for 2 less mana and Beast Tag. OR It's a Windfury but with a free 3/2 Beast.
- If you get the Stealth Adaptation this is a Master of Disguise with -1/-2, Beast tag and it costs 2 less.
Conclusion: Opie Opie.
2/3 would be so much better. 3/2 is like Blizz is trying to push aggro.
>complete the quest until turn 5.
>play Queen Carnassa turn 5/6.
>play Tundra Rhino + Crackling Razormaw turn 7, get stealth.
Already enjoying the expansion :')
Excellent Arena card. At worst its a 3/2 beast for 2, which is on par for arena. If you pull off the Adapt effect then it's amazing.
One interesting thing about this card is if you have multiple beasts on board, which do you choose to Adapt? I think in most scenarios you would likely choose your largest beast to place adapt onto, but it is interesting you won't know the 3 choices for Adapt before you have to choose which minion to adapt. (e.g. Do you choose to adapt your larger Beast for the hopes of a Divine Shield? Or do you choose to adapt your small 1/1 beast in hopes of Poisonous?)
Adapt your Tundra Rhino or Starving Buzzard in the hopes of getting stealth
Don't count on stealth usually i guess. You will probably want to adapt before your attack to choose the best option. In that case stealth will be a burden.
I see you're point, and I think you're right in general, but I would forgo attacking with Tundra Rhino for the rest of a game just to have his effect out there. Same with Starving Buzzard Only problem is getting them to stick on board liong enough in order to adapt them. And hoping to God that stealth is an option.
You only have a 30% chance of getting Stealth... :/
Getting Divine Shield or making it Untargetable by spells might be good for it too though which makes it 3 good choices = 71% - so that's pretty good. (not to mention that you can get extra Health, Attack or Windfury)
What the heck Blizz ?! Not a 1-mana hunter card ?! No point.
Small Raptor
Just a pinch of sarcasm, i like the card.
Great card, but should be a 2/3 for better balance IMO.
Hunter = Raptors , Druid = Long neck dinosaurs , Rogue = Poison Plants , Shaman = Elementals.. Paladin will probably be those Stegosaurus / Kaleidosaurs Theme
Aggro hunters, aggro hunters everywhere.
Good card, though I'm not sure it will have take a space in the new hunter quest deck.
Perfect on curve. Looks like hunter will see a revival in this expansion.
Angry Chicken might see some play??? Against classes without a ping, it would survive and classes with a hero power ping would need to use the coin to take it out.
Dang, I was hoping Druid would get this card.
Oh wait, this expansion apparently only features seven classes by the looks of it. All Druid and Warrior have been given so far are two gimmick (Warrior) or one gimmick and one mediocre (Druid) cards that are unlikely to see much play unless there are some synergies coming. Verdant Longneck particularly annoys me. Beast Druid has never risen beyond third tier, and the last thing it needed was another five-drop, given how that slot has two solid cards from Basic/Classic (Druid of the Claw and Stranglethorn Tiger) as well as Virmen Sensei from the last expansion. Beast Druid needs 2-4 drops to replace the cards rotating out, as well as a legendary finisher, not a mediocre five drop.
So Druid got 2 cards so far and your calling it already ? Smart.
