Site Updates
We have great news. Today we bring even more updates to the site! (With many more still to come)
Forge Builder
- Forge Simulator - At the top of the page, you can now click Forge to be taken to the forge builder.
- Save your decks - Just like the normal deck builder, you can save your decks. When you view them, you will see the full list of cards as well as a list of "picked VS didn't pick" at the bottom of the page.
- Try this Forge Scenario - In ever forge deck profile, you can click the "try this scenario" link. You will then be able to make a deck out of the same card choices.
- Make decks with the same seed - Want to have some great practice making forge decks and getting feedback on picks? Why not all use the same seed and compare choices? We allow you to add a seed at the end URL which allow for the same card choices.
- View other decks with the same seed - When two or more decks share the same seed. A new tab will appear, letting you view decks by others who had the same choice as you!
Deck Database
- Filters - We have now added some basic filters such as Class, Author, "Created in Forge", as well as a search bar. (More filters to come, such as "contains card" for example
- Shows Number of Comments - Now when browsing all decks, there is a new column for how many comments have been posted in that deck. .
Card Database
- Summons - We now have a tab for "Summons" if a card has related tokens, they will appear on that card page [Note: that this is currently done by hand, and tokens are still being added to their parent card]
- Minor Updates - We also have done a lot of small updates that should make the database overall better!
More to come
Don't think this is it! We already have plans for more updates, and more bug fixes!
Forge Simulator
If you are not familiar with The Forge, it is Hearthstone's draft mode. In order to enter the forge in-game you are required to pay an admission of three unopened card packs. These packs may be obtained through normal play (free) or purchased via the Hearthstone store. Upon paying your entry fee you will choose your hero and then start assembling your deck.
After choosing your class, you will have thirty turns to create your ultimate deck. Each turn will present to you three cards that you must choose between. One card per turn is allowed to be added to your deck and the turn number determines the rarity of the cards that are displayed. On your odd numbered turns you will choose between basic cards. Basic cards are the free cards that everyone is going to have access to just by unlocking their heroes. On your even numbered turns, you will receive cards that are at least common in rarity which would normally have been opened from your card packs, but by getting to choose which cards you get to use gives you an easier way to obtain cards that you want while relying less on RNG. On your tenth, twentieth and thirtieth turns, you will receive a card that is at least rare in value.
In Hearthstone when you lose a few games in the forge, your deck is retired and you will be given the non-basic cards to keep. Unfortunately, you won't get to keep any of the cards in your decks made on HearthPwn, the Forge Simulator is just a fun way to start strategizing about the techniques that will be useful in the forge.
Don't forget to leave us feedback on the forge in our site feedback forum, and be sure to come discuss the forge and the decks you have created in our forge discussion forum.

Awesome forge simulator, even caught a legendary

just to warn you, the video is not listed on the YouTube channelNice first pass on the Forge. I'm hopping the regular deck builder switches to this format (search/filter cards in the larger left pane with the smaller right pane listing the contents). It would also be nice to get a mana curve displayed under the 3 cards and make the deck list columns sortable.
It appears that the Forge isn't handling card rarity properly, though. For non-basic selections it needs to select the rarity first and then pick 3 choices all of that same rarity. Right now you can have an Epic listed with two Commons as a choice which isn't correct AFAIK.
In my testing I haven't seen this come up. Do you have a deck created where this happened so we can take a look at it?
I just went to the tool again and found this happening, seems I got lucky my first couple of times. I've reported the problem to our devs so they can look at it. Thanks!
The scenario I was using http://www.hearthpwn.com/forge/hunter#XJonP6qN
I also just noticed that images for Basic:Free cards are displaying the Common rarity gem. Pretty sure they should have no gem at all like how the Basic:Common cards look.
And a third update. Forge turns having incorrect cards will be fixed in an update tomorrow. Thanks chippydip.
Some Basic cards are actually flagged as Common. It's confusing and hopefully Blizzard will say something about it.
I noticed that, but the images are backward from what you'd expect. Basic cards marked as Common don't have a gem icon while Basic cards marked as Free do have the gem. (It looks like whoever wrote the script to composite the images used the Common look as a fallback for unexpected card types which also explains why the images for non-card things like heros look like common cards as well: http://media-hearth.cursecdn.com/avatars/21/419/2.png).
As for why there are two types of Basic cards, I think the "Free" ones will be the ones included in the starter decks for each class. There are 5 of these for each class right now plus 14 neutral cards which are likely shared between the starter decks (each deck would use 10 of the 14). The Basic cards marked as "Common" then would be the ones unlocked by playing against the AI and whatever other achievement unlocks they throw in (there are 5 more of these for each class plus another 29 neutral cards).
In either case, I don't think Basic cards are supposed to have a rarity gem. They aren't supposed to come from card packs or be craftable or disenchantable. Pretty sure only Expert cards are suppose to have that gem.
P.S.: Why don't news posts show up in the "Recent Discussion" box at the top of the main page when they get new comments? :-P
Yeah, taunt filter asap.
It's been added to the todo list for the next release. We won't miss it, promise!
First impression of the Forge is good, worked without problems. 2 things about it. 1 is that you can decide what hero you want to play as, which you can't in "real" Forge, far as I know. Other is minor thing, but the window on the right side lets you filter cards that were present through mechanics, but the option to filter for Taunt is missing.
