Beta Opt-In Wave For US

Another wave of Beta Opt-Ins went out to US players this evening. Be sure to check your Battle.Net email inbox and spam folders to see if you got in.

Reminder: Don't download files off random websites promising to give you beta access. These programs will install adware, spyware, or keyloggers onto your computer. Keep your accounts secure, check out Blizzard's Security website for more information.

Blue Posts

Not a whole lot going on in today on the Blizzard forums, but there were a couple of important posts that should answer some common questions from the community.

Ranking System Details

We haven't gone too much into detail about the ranking system quite yet, but it is something we are still working on. Once things are a bit more set in stone, I'd certainly love to talk about it in more detail.

The Game Is "Finished". Let Us Play.

There's been a lot of talk lately about the game being finished and polished, and that people should be able to buy their way into the beta or the beta should be open to all. Zeriyah responds, and it's important we listen.

We do not "allow" people to sell keys on eBay. The sale of goods in this manner is also against eBay's TOS as well as ours, and we report the sales of these goods as we see them. Anyone, not just Blizzard, can report the sale of beta keys on eBay as well.

While we appreciate the fact that many people see the game as finished, it is not. Bugs continue to be reported, which we are vigilant in fixing, and we do see technical issues pop up here and there. There are things that go on behind the scenes as well that the community as a whole does not see that take time to monitor, iterate on and fix. Things still need to be done and there are improvements to be made, which is why we are not in open beta yet.

Having a polished closed beta release really helps us put our focus on the systems that need improvements and bugs that need to be fixed for an eventual release that will be smooth and ready for all to enjoy.

Fireside Chat #11 - This Friday

We cancelled last week's show due to James being at PAX and everyone else being super busy, but we're back, and now an hour later than our regular time! Fireside Chat #11 will be live at 5pm EDT on the HearthPwn Twitch Channel. We're going to be moving the show permanently to the 5pm EDT timeslot to fix schedule conflicts with the team, and hope to see you guys weekly from now on! VoDs will be available on the HearthPwn YouTube Channel shortly after the show is over.
