Deathratyles trigger in the order they were played, so, the game must "check for death order" all the time. So, the mad scientist triggers, pulling out the secret and putting it in play. Then (he must have played the recruit before the scientist) the game checks for the death of the other minions and since one died it triggers avenge because there is a minion left alive after flamestrike. Not intuitive, but it makes sense.
I'm super excited, mostly about the prospect of our collections being permanent after this wipe (which in my mind means the game is basically released)
The Arena reward changes are perfect. You should feel rewarded for 5 wins. Having better guaranteed rewards for 5,6 and 9 is perfect!
I don't really care about the daily change, because I like all the classes, but its a nice bit of choice to make on a daily basis.
The biggest change by far has to be the 10 gold for 3 wins. That's HUGE. I didn't think they would lower it that much, but it means that you can actually GRIND in hearthstone now, and accomplish something. Part of me feels like this will get brought back down a bit before its all done, but we will see. I'm really happy.
The class changes SOUND exciting as well, it doesn't say just card tweaks for Warrior and Priest, it says "new tools" so I'm thinking brand new cards are possible.
I'm excited to be able to grind Golden Basic cards as well (the neutral ones) - can't wait for a Golden Stormwind Champion!
The one thing I'm surprised not to see listed is anything about the Ranking system / progression. I thought there would be something on that this patch.
I've opened around 130-140 packs (40x2 20x1 + everything I've earned)
I DE'd every card I got in the Warlock, Rogue, Warriro, Priest decks to focus on getting dust. That is a plan I DO NOT intend to stick to after the coming resets. It seemed like a good idea to focus on getting dust so I could make some kick arse legendaries, but dusting entire classes is not the right play. I thought it made sense, but its much more fun to build decks with all the classes when ever you want.
Just got disconnected from the beta - the launcher has a msg "We will be restarting the PTR to environment between 7-9PM to pick up some important updates. You may be disconnected from the server during this time"
Just wanted to start discussion on the possibility / need for a tournament mode.
I LOVE the Arena mode. I can't even begin to say how much fun I've had. I'm not the best player in the world, but I've had so much fun at it. I probably only average 4 wins or so per run, but getting 7, 8 or 9 (once) wins bring such a feeling of accomplishment. I can only imagine how much more awesome it will be once the make the rewards better.
Anyway, what I have discovered is that the awesomeness that is Arena mode, almost trivializes constructed mode. At least for me. I have fun with Constructed of course, but the medal system as it stands now is not nearly enough of a incentive to really try to pour your soul into building / collecting the perfect deck.
So, to address that problem, they really need to add a tournament mode. The place where you take your constructed deck to really put it to the test.
When you click tournament mode, you could be presented with 4 choices: 8 Player, 16 Player, 32 Player and 64 Player tournaments.
You could also add another item in the store called "Tournament Tickets" - They would be purchasable in quantities of 2 ($1.99 or 200 Gold) - 10 ($8.99) or 20 ($15.99)
These items could also become another way to diversify the rewards for winning games in play mode or arena runs - add a chance to win tickets.
The entry fee for each tournament would vary by size: 8 Player (1 Ticket) 16 Player (2 Tickets) 32 Player (3 Tickets) 64 Player (4 Tickets)
The formats could be bracket style best of 3, until the Simi finals where it becomes best of 5.
You would only be matched up with similar "Medal" players - Perhaps the bottom 3 Medals would play together, the Middle three Medals would play together and then Master plays only with Master - which would give another reason to try to up your Medal rating so you could be in high "tiered" tournaments as each Tournament would have a "Medal Bonus" for winning the tournament based on which Tier you are in:
***Champion’s Badge: Badges would last for only a set period of time (1 week? 1 Month?) from the most recent badge that you win. Each tier (Bronze, Gold, Master) of badge would be “upgradeable” by winning more and more tournaments you gain a level on your badge. If you win a second tournament before your badge expires, it gains a level and becomes slightly more awesome looking. Each time your badge “expires” you lose one level of awesomeness from the badge. So if you want to keep your badge awesome, you have to keep winning. Badges are purely cosmetic and appear both during Play mode games and Tournament games – they are also class specific. If you win a tournament with a Priest deck, all decks you play as a Priest have the badge.
OF COURSE – all of these numbers would need tweaking, but I think it basically does what it should. Give players a reason / drive to be competitive (earn champion badge levels) as well as a meaningful way to use their constructed decks. If you win enough tournaments, you would move up to the next bracket (higher tier) competition.
What do you guys think a tournament mode should include?

We've seen 4, why would you think the other 5 classes aren't getting one? There is no reason to think they wont at all..

I started saving the day Nax was announced, I'm up to 2980 gold.
5000 gold for the whole thing is a completely reasonable price.
90$ is fine also. If you don't save up any gold, but want to buy ever wing of Nax right when it comes out, then good for you. PAY UP!
Most people will probably buy 3 wings with gold and 2 wings with cash .. Nothing is wrong with this model.
Start saving, you'll be fine.

I've had some fun playing 1st with Paladin Decks - Divine Favor really rocks for going 1st.
You play a 1 drop, 2nd player usually passes turn one, then you play Divine Favor.
You now have board control (a 1 Drop) and 6 cards in your hand.

No big updates it would seem.. I was excited. I'm back in with no patch or anything! Doh
