I started to keep track of the packs I opened early on in my Hearthstone career (some bought with gold, but mostly with wallet - hey, don't judge). After opening an [obscene] number of packs (but not enough to have a complete set of classic cards or of either expansion), the legendary drop rate is slightly above 5% per pack, or around 1 in 20 packs.
I haven't been logging my packs on my F2P accounts, but after going through roughly 30 packs or so without legendaries in the beginning, I pulled 6 legendaries in 4 F2P accounts (I'm crazy I know) within a day's time from promo packs or packs bought with gold. Then a week later, the total went up to 8, right before I started to save up for the Adventures.
Make no mistake though, I believe Blizzard, like many corporates in the world, will try their best to "fleece" you without you noticing. But practicing something so blatantly easy for the you to keep track of and find fault in is definitely not their best. In other words, there's nothing skewed for the F2P players, yet.
And believe me, I am not working for Activision Blizzard.
Enjoying the wins so far, 3-1 as Hunter, 4-1 as Mage.
How are you 3-1 with the Hunter? Everyone says it's soooooo bad. I can't play yet, stuck at work. Just love people that play one match cry imbalance and never play it again.
4-2 now. Good RNG I suppose. It definitely feels very tough playing hunter when you're behind most of the time.
I won the last game when the mage was 2 off lethal.
Messing around with my semi-basic Mage deck in the low ranks has kind of made me realize why certain players are stuck there. They don't care about consistency.
One minute they are going all Dennis on my face with burns, the next they are trading; I have also seen many players with the pre-purchase card back still running some basic cards that could easily be replaced by better and affordable cards; then there is this Warrior running 5+ legendaries in his patron deck.
There is absolutely no chance that Blizzard will announce the date just a few days before the release. No company in their right mind will give the public such a short notice for their major release of the year.
Last year, they announced the date one full week ahead of the GvG release. So don't hold your breath, I bet they'll try to warn us about the last chance to pre-purchase 50 packs for the "free" card back at least one week before the actual release day.
Most card games, by default, are heavily influenced by chance. Your decision making in a card game HAS to involve some mental approximation of the potential RNG outcomes. The more RNG elements exist in the game, the higher the "skill cap" to succeed in it.
However, this also means a handful of matches will never truly reflect one's overall competence in playing the game. Rather, one's "skill" is more accurately reflected in his or her winning percentage over a large amount of matches.
In addition, RNG or chance is what gives everyone a winning chance regardless of the "skill gap" between the players.

Pro Tip - Don't trade and go all face whenever you can.
Only trade when you have some board clears.

Déjà vu, or just me?

The key to winning the brawl is to rush your opponent's face and you'll be offered a card for exact lethal damage.
I swear it works 50% of the time, EVERY TIME!

It was Bolf Ramshield. Overall, 9 Legendaries in 200 packs. Kind of meh.
I'm an ungrateful bastard, I know.

Brawling with a friend and...the value happened.
I won.

Missed lethal in an embarrassing loss in the last game because I mistook Mage's Fireblast as Hunter's Steady Shot.
That's what happens when the game keeps making you play Hunter 9 out of 10 matches.
Edit: Also, Armored Warhorse = one of the worst 4 drops ever

The mage ALWAYS has Lowly Squire in his opening hand.

Playing hunter 3 times in a row...and seriously, the curve of the hunter deck seems so f'd up.

But hey, I hope I'm wrong.

I got to relive those crazy Mana Addict moments in the 10-mana Tavern Brawl. It was awesome.
I was a Handlock at 27 health with 2 taunts of 20 total health. Still dead in a turn.
