The key is to start with weapon or Acidic Swamp Ooze. Which isn't hard. Focus on clearing minions with a weapon, while you go for the face and climb up slowly. Shield Block synergizes with weapons very well and gives a card draw. then gnomish inventor is a minion with carddraw.
To be honest, no real preference towards Frostwolf Warlord in this deck, he's an okay card, but you don't have any other silence-worthy cards sans Warsong and not enough cheap minions for him to make an impact. I'd suggest Stormwind Champion over him for a strong end-game.
Just getting started on warrior, myself. So far I'm 3-0 on this deck with Stormwind Champion instead of Frostwolf Warlord. So it's off to a good start. Thanks!
I was not losing that often anymore, though in Ranked play I was hovering around rank 20, which was the best I've had yet. Time to improve something. The most obvious improvement I could think of was this: since as a warrior I have a lot of weapons, let me add minions that directly benefit from them: 2x Bloodsail Raider and 2x Dread Corsair. They are cheap and directly benefit from the weapons I'll be having anyway. Also, 1x Southsea Captain, since I already had one and having 4 other pirates now, I thought maybe it's worth including him; he would be nod bad as 3/3 card for 3 anyway. I got rid of:
2x Shield Block. Since my first days on the forum I've been told that using cards to just heal your hero is a waste; this is basically healing, and not the cheapest one. As far as card draw goes, it just spends a card to draw a card. So it was the first to go.
2x Heroic Strike. I liked how it could be combined with any of the weapons for super powerful attack or used separately. But it doesn't give bonuses to my pirates, so it had to go.
1x Gnomish Inventor because she is weak. Card draw? We have to sacrifice something. Here's what I had now:
Now, I could notice the difference. I could hover above level 20 in Ranked, reaching as high as rank 17 sometimes! :P I wanted to expand on the success and decided to add second obvious thing to my deck: Enrage mechanics. Gurubashi Berserker followed by Cruel Taskmaster will become 7/6, and there is the flexibility to use Cruel Taskmaster on other berserker, or any other card, or to finish off the enemy minion with 1 health. After that, Rampage seems like one hell of a deal: +3/+3 for 2!
Per my brother's advice (he got int the game earlier than me) I've re-decided against Southsea Captain: he considers Ironfur Grizzly a poor value, even with Taunt. 4 other pirates in a deck turned out to not be enough to have a good chance of receiving those bonuses; I briefly entertained the idea of having more pirates, but don't see any other worthy ones (except for Captain Greenskin, if you forget about the cost). Bro strongly recommends against any minion with 1 health, as they are too easy a prey for certain classes. So Southsea Captain had to go.
Other thing that I liked and had to go was 2x Cleave. I thought it had a great value, but with my new Bloodsail Raider and Dread Corsair I now had a new reference for great. Hopefully, my new berserkers with Cruel Taskmaster and Rampage will bring me to new heights of value?
Also my brother convinced me that >4 weapons is not too many and I added Arathi Weaponsmith. I'd like to be able to combine weapons with my pirates more often.
Now, this deck failed to meet expectations for me. Maybe I just got lucky with 1.2 (didn't play it much) or unlucky with 1.3, but I don't think I could rank any higher with 1.3; the same rank 18-17. I often fail to get the rage combo, or fail to trade favorably even when I do. That said' I had some moments of glory. Look how I defeated a priest dealing 21 damage on turn 5 (I've summoned Arcanite Reaper on turn 4 with a coin)
Now, I still don't have all of the berserkers, or all the ways to enrage my minions. Inner Rage seems like a waste of a card, though.
What should I change in my deck now? Maybe it would be easier to use 1.2 as a starting point. Did some cards I remove were more worth than the ones I put in?
OTOH, maybe something is now out of place in my deck? Do I still want my Warsong Commander in this new deck? Execute looks like a card to have for a warrior, but I don't have many cheap minions to deal some damage to combine with it.
Hey, I'd really like to hear some feedback from you, please. Even a small thought is appreciated.
I've been experimenting some more with my deck. I added more berserkers (welcome, Frothing Berserker) and Whirlwind that can help enrage berserkers, earn massive attack bonus for Frothing Berserker, help activate Execute, Rampage or Battle Rage, or of course kill off some 1-hit guys.
The previous revision suffered from running out of cards sometimes, and now we have even more of cheap cards; so there are Battle Rage and Shield Block to cycle through the deck faster. Now if I could play my Battle Rage right...
This the most successful revision of this deck so far, which doesn't say much: the highest I managed to climb is rank 15. At least, now I started to encounter opponents with some really wicked combos :-)
What do you think can I improve from here? (using any revision as a starting point).
The feel I get from your deck is that taunts don't fit in. Your Gurubashi Berserker requires you to pop a Whirlwind to get him to become scary which I think it's a waste and unless you hit a low minion with it, it instantly become suspectible to spells or beat down on the enemy's turn.
The one thing I hate about Warrior creatures is that their health pool is really suspectible to beat downs before you can really utilise them. The other issue is that you don't have enough early dmg pressure that you'll most likely trade minions with the enemy. Then before you deal enough dmg, his big hitters might be out to finish the job.
@Obsoleteness You don't think Shield Block is worthy for its card drawing ability? That's what I put it there for, along with Battle Rage, but I'm not sure I'll be always able to play Battle Rage well.
I've out of budget for new cards for now, but I've got some from boosters. Among others, I've got one Wild Pyromancer. Can put it into my deck together withWhirlwind or is it crazy?
@hrenistic You can definitely run it without Gorehowl, its just a nice to have and many of those decks don't run it. You would probably need 2 Wild Pyromancer though

Updated with newer revisions of the deck: v1.1, 1.2, 1.3, v1.4.
I have found this warrior's starter deck on battle.net forums:
What do you think of it? Should this strategy work, for starters?

Ok, I've played with this deck for a while and I started improving it. I would like your feedback on it.
For starters, per Aishi's advice, I've replaced Frostwolf Warlord with Stormwind Champion I've had the most fun playing with this deck:

Shattered Sun Cleric, Warsong Commander and Stormwind Champion had to go, as well as the last Gnomish Inventor and 1x Dread Corsair. I didn't feel I was getting good use of Charge from Warsong Commander. Even with 6 weapons in a deck, I still don't have weapon equipped at all times, and without it, Dread Corsair has poor value. Here's what I have now:

@hrenistic I feel Dread Corsair, Sen'jin Shieldmasta and Shield Block wouldn't work too well.

What would you exchange 2x Dread Corsair and 2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta for?
@hrenistic
I would add another Arathi Weaponsmith that card is like the second best warrior card next to Fiery War Axe. I would probably add the 2x Shattered Sun Cleric back and add 2x Defender of Argus
Shield Block is a great card and allows you to trade your life for their minions without putting yourself in burst range
Gorehowl + Shield Block is some great removal
@MarcoTomb at that point might as well run the pyrosmith combo lol
I've out of budget for new cards for now, but I've got some from boosters. Among others, I've got one Wild Pyromancer. Can put it into my deck together with Whirlwind or is it crazy?
@Ruffys would you advise to use the pyrosmith combo with my latest deck, without Gorehowl? I've got 1xSpiteful Smith 1xWild Pyromancer so far.
Here are the common cards I got; maybe some of those could improve my deck?
1x Wisp
1x Abusive Sergeant
1x Argent Squire
2x Leper Gnome
2x Shieldbearer
1x Southsea Deckhand
2x Amani Berserker
2x Bloodsail Raider
2x Bluegill Warrior
2x Dire Wolf Alpha
1x Ironbeak Owl
1x Knife Juggler
1x Loot Hoarder
2x Mad Bomber
1x Sunfury Protector
1x Wild Pyromancer
1x Alarm-o-Bot
1x Coldlight Oracle
1x Coldlight Seer
1x Earthen Ring Farseer
1x Thrallmar Farseer
2x Mind Control Tech
1x Questing Adventurer
1x Southsea Captain
1x Ancient Mage
1x Dark Iron Dwarf
2x Dread Corsair
2x Silvermoon Guardian
1x Spiteful Smith
1x Venture Co. Mercenary
1x Argent Commander
2x Windfury Harpy
@hrenistic You can definitely run it without Gorehowl, its just a nice to have and many of those decks don't run it. You would probably need 2 Wild Pyromancer though
