That's nonsense. Hearthstone is by no means the hardest card game ever, but saying it's that easy to reach legend is just wrong. Even the most simple decks (play cards -> go face) have a lot of strategy behind them, that new players simply don't know yet.
You have seen every deck and know its contents within a single week, maybe even days. Many cards also aren't impacting your gameplan at all and are of no concern. Given enough TIME and a FOTM tier 1 deck and a new player can reach legend within a single season. The skill ceiling is THAT low in HS.
I disagree. The sheer number of completely terrible people you see in the various streams/videos are perfect proof that Hearthstone isn't as easy as you claim.
Te be honest, "deckbuilding" is the actual skill in HS, since the game itself so easy to pilot. Give a new player a FOTM tier 1 deck, and I can assure you he can reach legend within a month.

True netdecks evolve over a period of time, with the collective internet coming together to perfect a certain deck. That is how we got definitive lists for powerhouse decks like Patron and Secret Paladin. The innovation (aka a new deck) starts somewhere, and is then copied, refined, adjusted, copied again, etc. to the point of a near perfect list. At that point, people will tweak the netdeck according to their own preferences, meta choices, and card availability, but those are just that: tweaks.
My point is: people who think their own creative decks will ever be anywhere near as competitive as the "known" netdecks, are delusional. Do you honestly believe you, on your own, are a better deck builder than the countless of people working on a single deck put together? Sure, your own deck might be fun, and it might win some of the games some of the time, but it will never be on the same level as netdecks.
Show me a single example of a player (pro or not) who has made a "new" deck which later turned out to be the best possible version of that deck.

Man, I sure wish I was as good as OP, and managed to get rank 5 every month!
I'm guessing he gets all the women.
