:D haha sorry mate, been a long time I didn't bought much on video games. I just didn' wanted to do as usual: refuse to buy mega bundle -> find expansion cool -> buys packs for almost the sae price as mega bundle and slapping my hand over my forehead for how dumb I was.
Sad to see people still compare a collectible card game to a regular video game title sold on a console, they aren’t the same and never will be. I guess you can compare a 5 star restaurant to a McDonald’s restaurant then and say McDonalds only charges $3 bucks for a burger so why should I spend $30 for a burger? Rationalization is one of the strongest human psychological emotions to exist. We all like to interpret things and base our choices off of are interpretations. I never understood why I should care about something someone else has that I do not or the ability of someone else to do things I cannot. The community that surrounds this game as a whole uses the term “ whale” as a pejorative and the term “f2p” as a meliorative.
If you buy the bundle, great if you don’t buy it, great. To suggest buying it is stupid because you can buy a “aaa” title for that much says a lot about the person making the comment. Secretly we all wish we could buy the bundle but everyone cant do that. So really wish the people in this community could get over their psychological issues with people who have something they don’t or choose to do something that they cannot.
I bought the mega-bundle.
It's totally fine with everyone that you bought the big bundle.
We all make decisions about what we're going to buy based on personal, subjective criteria. If you can easily afford it, if the relevant comparison to you isn't other video games in general but specifically Magic the Gathering, and if to you triple A games are like McDonald's burgers and Hearthstone's a gourmet meal, of course you should buy the Mega Bundles. It'd be dumb not to.
All those things are reversed for me so I don't usually buy bundles. There's nothing stupid or malicious and no rationalization needed to account for buying or not buying a preorder.
Good luck with your pack openings.
But, in some people' mind, it's not okay. And that what I think he's complaining about (rightly, in my view). Just read some of the threads on this topic (this one is pretty tame, actually but others are much worse), and you can see this snarky, pretty nasty attack on anyone who actually spends money on the game. The very term "whales" (as he points out) is used to criticize and insult. No one says, "Wow, congrats on being a whale! Ugly form of class warfare, TBH.
As someone who typically buys the smaller bundle every other expansion (this one happens to be an "off" expansion), I guess I qualify as a "mini-whale." I'd probably be insulted if I actually cared what some of these clowns think. Anyway, I think anyone who's foolish enough to spend $6/ day on Starbucks is nuts. I scratch my head when I see people buying skins, heroes, and other cosmetics on Hearthstone. But it's not my money, so I have no right to complain or criticize. Just wish others would do the same.
The community as a whole leans toward the socialist end of the spectrum imo. They think the company should charge what they deem fair or give it away for free. Blizzard doesn’t do things based on emotion because they are in business for one thing and that is to make a profit. Whales are seen as the bourgeoisie and the f2p is viewed as the proletariat. The evil greedy corporation is screwing everyone but yet they stay and in fact complain about it nonstop. I feel sorry for people that have to wake up everyday and see the world like that. My comment only points out the obvious leanings of the community as a whole that I’ve engaged in for over a decade. You can think whatever you want but at least THINK. My comment was made solely to point out that connection.

Socialism isn't when you complain that something is expensive, dude.
Complain that something is expensive? Why is anyone complaining about something they absolutely do not need to exist in the world ? If blizzard were gone tomorrow life would go on. If your food was gone tomorrow that would be another story. Complaining that the game costs too much implies that if it didn’t the complainer would buy it and then it goes into the greed of the company blah blah blah blah….. you don’t like the price don t buy it , complaining doesn’t make you a socialist it makes you a whining little b…. GodSmack wrote the theme song for the hearthstone community: Cryin’ Like A B….!
Here's a better question. if $80 doesn't give you a one complete expansion with all it's cards including upcoming miniset, maybe you need to start questioning the scam system that made it like that.
Hate me if you like, but i'm just being very honest. No offense to anyone. Here's my other honest opinion. The game is good. But it's too expensive that I refused to offer this game to anyone.
They've gotten too greedy. I would love to spend money on this game for a reasonable price. I think we all would. They could do better with more buying for cheaper than less buying for more. It will even out.
I used to buy them - as of lately I haven't been pleased with the quality of updates, so I've stopped purchasing them until I can find a reason to support the devs.
Personally feel like they've been doing too many cash grabs, and updates that lack creativity, nothing new, nothing fresh, every update leaning more and more into aggro play styles.
To be fair, I'm also actively looking for a game I can pivot to and play with all the travelling I do for work.

Nah man, we don't care. We just do what we've always done: Enjoy the game+complain of how expensive it is. Please keep politics out of this.
Btw happy packs opening everybody :)
