Returning to the game after a ~2 year hiatus. Last time I actively played, Gadgetzan was the most recent expac. Prior to that, I had this one deck that revolved around shaman Reincarnate/Ancestral Spirit, along with Rivendare and Kel'thuzad for some truly devastating (albeit risky) combos. I have since updated the deck with a few modern cards for even better (though still risky) carnage, yet the winrate isn't all that high (Not that I care TOO much, I just want to see how much better this deck COULD be). I've moved cards around to deal with what appears to be the norm for most of my opponents (dealing with quantities of medium health minions, rather than those easily done away with by Lightning Storm, while Lava Burst feels like it's overkill most times).
Anyways, I very much like how this deck plays, and want to know if anyone has any other tips or substitutions that can improve my success while still preserving the inherent 'color' of the deck and playstyle. Basically, get Kel'thuzad or Rivendare down, then pressure them with multiple copies of Sylvanas, Rag, and/or Al'akir.
In past iterations I've had Thaurissan, but currently have yet to see him get the potential I'm looking for, since by the time it's safe to play him, the match is done.
Why wax elemental and explosive sheep? They look pretty lack-luster here. If you're looking for a defense againist aggro there are much better options.
Explosive Sheep is a pretty bad card in a deck full of spell AOEs. In general delayed AOEs are bad - you want to play it the moment the opponent board is too big, and having to get this sheep killed means either wasting your own resources or waiting another turn, which might get you killed.
If you expect to be overloading a lot, why not run Tunnel Trogg for some early game?
The number of one-ofs in this deck is ridiculous. Either trim the extras to run Reno Jackson, or trim the fat to add some duplicates of the better cards (e.g. Maelstrom Portal, Sludge Belcher, etc.)
Glad to see old-school players returning to the game and after looking at your deck I would propably have a few suggestions here and there.
First of all I would definitelly replace the Wax Elemental with another Maelstrom Portal, don't get me wrong but I might be missing the whole Wax Elemental hidden purpouse but I don't honestly see it!
Another thing I would consider would be Bloodmage Thalnos as he really shines in Shaman with all those spells! Azure Drake is another thing I feel like the deck is lacking. If you manage to fit them in I would remove Stormforged Axe and put in Spirit Claws in it's place.
I feel like the Lesser Amethyst Spellstone is a tad bit of an overkill same goes for Lava Bursts, which I honestly never considered running in a Control Shaman. Might be wrong on that one! If you remove the Lesser Amethyst Spellstone I would propably replace the Drakkari Defender for Deathlord, which is way better against Control Decks, while being just a slight bit worse against Aggro.
One Hex seems fine in the current meta especially considering you have on Devolve.
Hope I atleast summed up a few neccesities!

Drakkari Defender certainly fits the overload costs for Lesser Sapphire Spellstone, but it's mostly a bad card for anti-aggro because it totally shuts down your turn 4.

you have enough value, you propably dont need cairne.
also, since you run a lot of 1-of cards, you might aswell cut some more dublicates to fit in reno.
also drakkari defender is trash. wax elemental and explosive sheep seem odd aswell.
plus, consider the OP bonemare + corridor creeper + azure drake
