Mad Scientist= two mana 2/2 with deathrattle that gets you a 3/3 in the next turn or two. So you're basically paying 2 mana for 5/5 worth of stats and a beast. I know it's not as clear and consistent as that, but it does seem very good on midrange decks, not so much on late game decks, but hunters aren't currently good at those type of decks anyways.
Fine with me, the better that combo is the more I can play Kezan Mystic.
Looks super solid. How does control hunter win in the late game or draw cards? it seems to have plenty of strong board clear tools and removal, but not a ton of life gain to get it out of burst range, and not a lot of cards that offer card advantage. I'm actually impressed by the absurdly efficient board control. Bear trap, Explosive Trap, Freezing trap, Power Shot, Steamwheedle Sniper, Eaglehorn Bow, I guess Mad Scientist, Dreadscale... what a solid early game hate lineup. Maybe Ball of Spiders is actually your grind game win condition with a few big legendaries

This in a face hunter, when you finally got the board back you now get punished for using your remaining minnion to hit face, not only is it a beast thus allows for kill command and houndmaster to synergise, but it is also taunt, Making it autoconcede if you play anything that has slow early game and NEEDS to have the hunter board cleared to regain control or that depends on certain minnions with 3 or less hp to get their deck going.
