Ragnaros the Firelord is my favorite card in the entire game. I would be crushed to see a nerf. Send him to Wild if you must, but leave his stats and power alone.
For the record, I don't play him in any of my current decks, and I've only seen him in play maybe once in the last season.
Nerfing 6+ drops would be useless if there are still decks out there killing you by turn 6.
The real problem with hearthstone currently is that there are way too many decks that rely on a strategy of "create a dangerous board state early and hope it doesn't get answered". The only decks which can make use of high mana cost cards at the moment are decks with huge efficient comeback mechanics like Reno.
The potential power level of card like STB, Totem Golem, Barnes, Fandral and even Brann is way higher than Sylv and rag. They come out at a point where you often can't answer them, and if you do, you lose The initiative which can lose you the game anyway.
I am wondering about crafting either Alexstrasza or Bloodmage Thalnos, i crafted before YseraRagnaros the Firelord and Sylvanas Windrunner. And for what i have read people say that rag, sylvanas and thalnos are getting rotated. The question is, why? The objective of Standard is to keep the meta fresh, to let players experiment with only later expansions, what is the point to rotate for example rag? He is not meta defining in any way, he fits in many decks yes, but it is a very expensive card and it is almost not being played much in the new meta.
I am scared to craft any new legendaries until the rotation, which cards do you think will go? And mainly, why?
I don't see thalnos as a problem, but if he's nerfed or rotated, take the 1600 dust and laugh. You can just sub him with loot hoarder or kobold in it's place. Alex/Ysera is seldom used in this meta, if she's nerfed or rotated, it will be to open design space for other 9 and 10 drops. Ragnaros is likely to be nerfed to either 8/6 or 9 mana. If he's rotated, consider it an effective ban as he's inferior to Boom and costs 1 more. No one will ever run him in wild. Sylvanas has some chance of a nerf to 4/5 or 7 mana. If she's rotated, I am cashing in as I can never run her in standard again and don't really need her in wild anyway.
As much as i'm informed, Classic cards are getting NERFED, not ROTATED. There's a difference.
I believe this as well, but there's still a chance a few cards may be rotated instead of nerfed. Ben was open to the idea of rotations and many people think rotations are the way to go, I disagree for many obvious reasons.
Im scared Ragnaros will be turned into at the start of your turn... then he'd be a lot less helpful...
If he gets the nat treatment, kiss him bye and collect the 1600 dust. If he's rotated, you can also kiss him bye. I say he will either be 8/6 or cost 9 mana so he's still playable(in standard) but not OP.

A reasonable nerf won't prevent Ragnaros from still being played. Rotating him to wild is a death sentence, however as Boom is cheaper and better. Any big legendary that gets rotated will just turn to 1600 dust.
I do wish I had access to whatever the 'Rag for sure' crowd is smoking.
Blizzard themselves hinted at Ragnaros in their nerf articles. If any legendary is getting nerfed, Ragnaros is at the top of their list. They also said it's not out of the question that legendaries are getting nerfed which is a hint they are planning to nerf 1 or 2 legendaries.
I mean it depends if anything would replace them but there's a good few neutral cards that draw (or at least cycle) which feel like they've been prominent forever; specifically Azure Drake, Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Acolyte of Pain, Bloodmage Thalnos, and Loot Hoarder (although tbh Thalnos I can live with as it's a legendary and useless to classes without decent damage spells). There's only 2 ways new neutral card draw minions see play as it stands - either we just get better versions of these cards (i.e. power creep) or these older cards get removed forcing people to be more creative.
Pretty much the only neutral card draw minion that's seen play from the last 2 years is The Curator and even that's only seen in fringe decks because of how it works. We've had Genzo, the Shark, Fight Promoter, Wind-up Burglebot, and Wrathion which are all interesting but have seen virtually no experimentation because there's just straight up better choices already in classic. All it would take is a few interesting new minions that can draw (particularly mana cheap ones) and we could ditch all the familiars and force a bit of innovation in deckbuilding and freshen things up a little in the meta.
The usual suspects. I don't understand why Thalnos is such a high pick. It's not an "auto-include", perhaps the most balanced Legendary for mana-per-stat ratio ever made for Hearthstone. It doesn't break or make decks. It would be pure idiocy to rotate such a card. Would only lessen the AoE removals and make other minions that are "kept in check" by minor counterplay take over the show.
rag and sylvanas are prime candidates for me, they are simply the strongest pick that slot and to overvalue them they'd have to make some serious power creep...
Alexstraza, Ragnaros the Firelord, Sylvanas Windrunner, Leeroy Jenkins, Gadgetzaan Auctioneer, Azure Drake, Acolyte of Pain, Loot Hoarder, Knife Juggler, Doomsayer, Brawl, Fiery War Axe, Divine Favour, Equality, Innervate, Doomhammer, Ice Block are probably the worst designed cards in the set and need to go to open design space.
I think Doomsayer is legitimate, the problem is that you're either getting a 2 mana, 7 heal or you're setting back your opponent two turns of drops and Time Walking into your next turn. It's an answer that can be and is played in every control deck and has gone unchecked since the Ironbeak Owl nerf, not to mention it can be abused with Freeze and to a lesser extent Stealth. I'm not sure if the game would be better off without it, but I'm sure you'll see it in every control deck until it's rotated out.
A stat nerf won't fix a card like Azure Drake, that simply does too much for its cost.
Leeroy Jenkins and Gadgetzan Auctioneer have both had their mana costs increased already. If you nerf Leeroy Jenkins any further, with either stats or cost, you just make it into a worse Reckless Rocketeer, which is bad for a legendary. And as long as 0 mana spells exist, Gadgetzan Auctioneer will see play even at 10 mana. So just relegate them both to Wild. There's no nerf that solves the problems they create, which is that you can gain an immense advantage the turn you play them while your opponent has no options to stop you.
Im getting pretty sad reading all this stuff here. Most people just want to destroy the only viable Rogue deck atm. The only reason Rogue is playable at the moment is auctioneer. Since the nerf of Bladeflurry. Now when the Ladder is full of fucking Shamans and Pirate Warrior the problem is auctioneer? are you kidding? Most people here are playing Facedecks and fear losing a single game. In my opinion nerf: Jade Claws 2 -> 3mana Spirit Claws becoming a 1/2 Weapon with +1 atk when you have a totem summoned Small Time -> +1 atk when you have a weapon Questing Adventurer starting at 1/2 instead of 2/2 Prep reducing next spell by 2 instead of 3 War Axe: 2/2 Weapon When you attack a minion gain +1 atk Rag & Leeroy move to Wild Ice Block cost increased to 4. Cant combo it with Flamestrike anymore Tunnel Trogg only gain +1 atk when you overload instead of +1atk per overload Bloodsail Cultist only giving +1 atk or +1 charge Maybe make conceal 0 mana but target only 1 minion. Dunno about the last 1
They can't make ice block cost 4 unless they nerf all the other mage secrets cost 4 also and they wont do that. If only ice block is 4 mana, it's not secret anymore, since you know the moment your opponent plays it what it is.

Exactly, I see them nerfing azure drake to 6 mana instead and just leaving Thalnos alone. If he's ever nerfed, might as well run loothorder or kobold instead.

I can see Ragnaros becoming an 8/6 or possibly bumped to 9 mana. Sylvanas either 4/5 or costs 7 mana. If either get rotated to wild, everyone will just dust them.

Ya, that's why the consensus is Azure drake will be bumped to 6 mana and I bet he still sees some play, especially as a 1 of. Aggro decks however will drop azure drake. If Blizzard rotates anything out, I can see them doing it to cards that were previously nerfed and just nerf other cards that have never been nerfed before. I remember them saying that if a card is OP in standard but balanced in wild, it's a candidate for rotating. Leeroy and Gad. are candidates for rotating, they won't survive another nerf anyway. Other cards like Azure drake are OP even in wild so itll cost 6 mana soon.
I think that the Hall of Fame is a great move by Blizzard to get some new cards into decks and remove a bit of staleness from Standard. I would love to hear all of your opinions on what cards you think should be moved to the Hall of Fame next, and how you would nerf/buff them. Personally, I would love to see Molten Giant cost 22 mana, Gadgetzan Auctioneer just moved to wild, and Yogg-Saron, Hope's End un-nerfed and moved to wild. How about you?

Forgive me, friend. I have failed.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

I wouldn't be sad if Nozdormu was sent to wild...
Wished to be pink.
Then did.
Then fired myself.
Then did again.
I could get behind a Rag mana increase. But I'd hate to see a decrease in stats. Killing Rag with a Fireball is BS.

Van Cleef
Murloc Tinyfin
Maybe auctioneer and Leroy never classic class legendarys
Gadgetzan Auctioneer please. I hate games where I have half of my deck left and the opponent is almost in fatigue.
