I'm happy with the general direction of the nerf, but I wonder if it's a bit harsh. The old Arcane Golem was a full +1/+1 larger than Wolfrider, with the mana drawback. The new one is only +1/+0 over the exiting Spider Tank, with the same drawback. Compared to other drawback 4/4 for 3, this seems a lot weaker, since the drawback is in the battlecry and can't be silenced away or managed through board control. I suppose a full 4/5 for 3 might be a bit too hard to deal with. But seeing as it immediately ramps a player up in mana, allows them to play 4-drops against it rather than 3-drops against something like a Dancing Swords, even a 4/5 wouldn't be that hard to fight against.
Why was this a problem? Face decks tend to use Argent Horserider now, right? I guess Combolock gets kind of screwed. To be perfectly honest, I don't get it. This seems like the worst possible way of changing the card.
Should be 4/5 considering I'm giving my opponent a mana crystal.

If you look closely, you can see this is a signature and not a comment. Why are you reading? Stop reading this. Did you read this too? Dang you must like reading.
Even grovetender is better than this. Would you rather have +2 attack or a mana crystal? Mana crystal pls, that could be letting you play a leper gnome or an abusive sergeant
I don't normally disenchant golden cards, but I may make an exception in this case. I can craft a silly WotOG legendary with the dust from the two I have :)
it should be a 4/5, and even with this stats it would still be trash, as a 4/4 it is unplayable even in arena, and that is saying a lot since even Dancing Swords sees play there.

I was literally thinking the same thing. At 4/5, this card may have been playable. Right now though, it's just the worst version of Ogre Brute and Dancing Swords by far, and while I'm aware those are getting rotated out, even they didn't exactly see much play and this is way worse.
combo decks are dead
Adeus combolock que eu acabei de craftar! :)
I've got the beast in my sights!
I didn't see that they removed charge at first and was puzzled for a second why they buffed the card by 2 health. lol
It's terrible and unplayable now.
I was gonna miss dancing swords until i saw this.

While I am very very sad about this nerf, I am also excited because I happen to have 3 golden ones. :D

I like that they continue to remove charge from the game. This card is probably dead from now on. Downside is way to high for +1/+1 stats

Oh look it's 40 dust. Good job on utterly bludgeoning the card Blizzard.

RIP Golem
Bad nerf! Nobody will play this anymore
time for King Mukla to shine again
The big problem is Power Overwhelming. 1 mana cost, active deathrattle, give 4/4...po is op
Dead card. In arena Arcane Golem <<< Ogre Brute or Dancing Swords. Although still having good sinergy with Faceless Summoner

Im starting to think Blizzard nerfs are just Ban Lists ;)
