Question. How does it work if you have Deathwing, Dragonlord on the battlefield and then play Deathwing, would your hand get removed first or not?
Discarded, it works like Blackwing Corruptor into Mad Scientist ---> Mirror Entity, battlecry resolved (discarded hand in the process), minion summoned, deathrattles resolved (0 dragons to summon unless you draw a dragon from a Deathrattle: Draw a card dude, then summon it through Deathwing, Dragonlord's effect)
A silence is enough to counter it though..but a 12/12 minion is ok i guess..But oh well there are cards like Polymorph and the Spell of Shaman that just make this card look bad!
Fuck you, I hate people like you, so ysera, tirion fordring and other cards are BAD because they can be "polymorphed"? Don't destroy the hype.
this guy is incredilbly tough to deal with... the deathrattle is powerful enough that using BGH against it would arguably make your situation worse. heck, if my deck has malygos i might BGH my OWN dragonlord and then start spamming spells
so you cant just kill it... silencing it leaves a freakin 12/12 on board. you'd have to have a silence AND bgh (both mechanics are reportedly being "looked at" aka nerfed). the only real way to deal with this is to have hex, polymorph, entomb, sylvanas + shield slam, etc
a deck using the dragonlord wouldn't use battlecry dragons like azure drakes or twilight drakes, but rather would use the big heavies like chromaggus, deathwing, ysera, malygos
Varian seems stronger to me, and you saw how much that was played. I think this is a pretty bad card for the cost. I'd like my 10 mana minion to actually DO SOMETHING. Not just sit there for a turn or 3 waiting to die.
Varian is only a 7/7 and you have no control over what you top deck.
With dragons in hand you can choose what to play and what not to play in advance of playing this Deathwing and it's a freakin 12/12 minion. Plus the fact that Dragon Consort lowers it's cost....
Another reason why Varian isn't used is that it brings you closer to fatigue, this does not draw extra cards but plays the ones in your hand, and a dragon deck based around this is not trying to avoid fatigue like a CW wants to.
To anyone thinking this card is good: see wrynn, varian.
You are absolutely clueless.
Reason Varian sucks is it draws you closer to fatigue, and has a totally random draw. This card OTOH can be played when you have the perfect hand and really completes dragon decks.
Varian isn't even bad, it's just in the wrong class.

Welcome to the oldest fallacy in CCG's: "Dies to removal"
To anyone thinking this card is good: see wrynn, varian.
Only because it's not very popular it doesn't mean it is not a good card, man, this is a fucking 12/12 10 mana dragon with no drawback, an insane effect and you just loose the battlecry, imagine you putting ysera into play for free?
It's not as simple as you make it sound.
1) by putting more minions into play they are also more vulnerable to mass board clears(lightbomb, twisting nether, etc). The only thing you really gain from playing this card in the best case scenario where they somehow don't die is the tempo involved in playing 3 dragon cards for 10 mana, and at this stage in the game tempo starts to matter much less.
2)it's a 10 mana card, which means it sucks against aggro and will only be ok in very niche, dragon heavy control decks.
3)it dies to BGH.
4)it summons minions from your hand, not your deck, which means it takes way more setting up to get value off than varian, which hardly ever sees play.If you actually manage to get into a position where you can wait to draw more dragons and then spend 10 mana on a card, you have likely won the game already.
With every big-endgame-badass minion being released, I fell like hex and sheep is getting stronger and stronger. Nice card btw, can bring all that Ysera and Malygos stuff out of your hand.
Dragon Paladin with Lightlord and Dragonlord ?!
Also, really, what is the story behind this ? Why is there 2 Deathwing ?
mfw his Yogg steals my win
Maybe... nah nah nah nah
I jjust want to ask the whiners: WTF? 12/12 for 10 with no hand-emptying is perfect itself!
"It's a deathrattle, not a battlecry"
I'm sick of these complaints. This card i will craft.
Holy mother of dragons..
Seeing dragons? Hold onto your Polymorph or Hex. Ysera and Chromaggus seem like the best draws.

I will craft a golden version of this card O.o
Seriously this is the most awesome shit ever. Do the dragons that get put into play say their entry lines?
dont know if this is going to make it in any serious deck
but is so coool!!
This makes N'Zoth the Corruptor better :o
let them come, my body... khhmmm deck is ready
Hello Twisting Nether / DOOM!

Wonder if this has a chance of fitting in some sort of N'zoth the Corruptor Paladin deck. Maybe its too late game heavy for constructed...
Had Sylvanas Windrunner, Tirion Fordring, Cairne Bloodhoof and Deathwing, Dragonlord die earlier in the game. Play N'zoth the Corruptorand you have an instantly insane board.
hmm new card coming... Bigger Game Hunter silence an enemy minion, if attack is 7 or greater destroy it.
I get that people say this is slow, but dragon decks are supposed to be slow.
Most of the time in dragon decks you drop a big Dragon, then your opponent removes it and drops a midrange card. Repeat until you are dead.
Now my dragons have some staying power. This card is a MUST for all dragon decks in the same way that voidcaller was a must for demons.
