Win or lose, I send a friend request. About half or so are accepted. I auto squelch at the start of the game by habit so I've no idea if there was BM emotes etc by my opponent.
I always send a friendly message such as "you wrecked me lol", "I was really lucky in that game" or "hows your deck going on ladder?" etc. At the end of the chat I wish them well in their games. In 2 days I've added over 20 people in both standard in wild between ranks 8 - 22 and I've been ready for rude/abusive responses.
I haven't gotten any. Not one.
I have had 2 challenge friend quests given to me (though that wasn't my motivation), offers to help with quests I had and lots of good friendly chats which brightened my day a little.
It's been overwhelmingly positive and after playing the game on and off for 3+ years changed the tone of the game for me. I'm sure we all have been on the receiving end of people wishing us death or questioning our parentage etc and I'm sure such people/children are still out there. But turns out, at least in my case everyone was actually worth talking to.
My take home message from this is consider sending/accepting friend requests more often. Be ready for abuse but it may well turn out that you were glad to make a new friend in Hearthstone today.
I always add every person I'm facing also but get accepted like maybe 20% of the time. Really sad cause sometimes I want to know the persons deck or just talk about our awesome match
Gotten 1 friend request maybe in the past year and it was like a week ago
I also might add people cause maybe I cam get some 80 gold lol 3 days ago I got 3 friend matches so 240 gold

Yeah it's a shame we've all been burned by bad encounters in the past. Internet gaming can be a toxic place but I was pleasantly surprised to find I had the opposite experience (on NA/EU/Asia). Maybe I was just lucky but I like to think most people are nice :)
I literally was playing on NA 20 minutes ago and had a good chat with someone new (I won and they still accepted). Probably there are regional differences, and toxic people everywhere but not had a problem so far.
On Asia I don't add people with Chinese symbols for names. But only because I assume we won't speak the same language :)
i wish i had those invite i would love to have new friends to talk with when playing hearthstone. My friends list used to be talkative but right now its really dead and i think ill reset it. Im on NA server if someone looking for a friend to talk about the game and test new deck. Add Citorix#1702 :)
I still don't see why we can't just talk to people without having to add them. All we get are 6 lousy emotes.
How am I supposed to bond with someone when there's literally no way for me to get to know my opponent? It's like you're doing blind dates permanently, still not a fan, even after all these years.

Added :) Not always around and play different servers etc but if a sporadic friend is acceptable then accept it :)

Yeah and the problem is most can be interpreted as BM/sarcasm. If there was such an option to message people without them adding you there would need to be an option to disable it though or it could be unpleasant :)

Recently I've been trying something new.

How Hearthstone should be played (and get more gold) ^^^^^^
Kobolds are almost as bad as goblins, they gotta die (⌐■_■)–︻╦╤─

Forums are full of BM friend requests cause you just don't rage on forums about people who are nice to you...
There is no cancer deck in hearthstone ! You are the Cancer !
