Just like in every other expansion. When will this game ever change? Why in f***s name is Patches still so powerful, yet other cards got nerfs (like Fiery War Axe??). Mindless aggro/face decks have been one of the biggest complaints from players since Naxx, so why don't the developers just LISTEN and actually think about the cards they're creating. Every expansion is dominated by the same strategy on the ladder - build a mindless, no brained face/aggro deck and roll the dice. And since most of them are cheap, anybody can build them. In my last 10 games, every. single. opponent. played an aggro/face deck. I get that I can tech in some taunts, etc but most archetypes are way too slow against aggro, so you either have to join them or just avoid the ladder altogether. Great job devs, and all the trash players who can't win without SMORCing.
You do realize that aggro tends to do better before new decks get established? Once things balance out, most of the aggro doing well right now will no longer cut the mustard.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
I haven't seen a single aggro deck in the last two days! They are ALL midrange or control. So just because YOU had a streak of aggro doesn't mean that's all there is. You just hit a patch of them.
Which are the aggro decks you are encountering on the ladder? Are they aggro or are they tempo? As you said, you should add tech cards to your deck if you keep encountering the same archetypes over and over again.

every fckin expansion, same bullshit. will it settle? realy? ^_^
they should change the name of this expansion to corridorcrew&co
You should be happy about seeing so many similar decks. I mean, if everyone plays the same, it shouldn't be hard to counter that specific deck/playstyle, right?
Also, it's mostly f2p players are the ones with budget "aggro" decks (most famous being Midrange Hunter, even if it's not really an aggro deck). If the control/combo meta decks like Highlander Priest didn't cost around 10k to craft, more people would use them. I don't think you can blame players for trying to make the best out of what they have.

Any control deck is worse than Razakus priest by default . Tuchee. "Mindless aggro decks" is all you have left if you dont want to play it.
i'm doing really well with my oakheart control-lock. it (like all other decks) is dependant on RNG/card draw, but I just faced a jade druid (I had no skulking geist neither) but playing oakheart swung the game for me. He could not get through my wall of taunts and just ended up running out of cards and couldn't do anything.
yeah, I've been smorc'd to death a in a few rounds from hunter etc, but now I've added both Stonehill Defender and Tar Creeper I'm doing a lot better.
in short, adapt to survive. if all you face is aggro, tech against it by countering their weaknesses.
I agree this seems to be the worst patch of Face playing aggro/tempo decks I've seen. Today I've encountered all 9 classes playing a form of Pirate kit with corridor creepers and just to top it off bonemare. Brilliant it's almost like you can just roll the dice on classes and play the same deck. Oddly I just saw a YT video with Reynad guessing how the new expansion will go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWN-LB85qsA

I have seen a very healthy mix of classes and deck styles. In my last 11 ranked games I have seen Priest, Paladin, Druid, Mage, Warlock, Hunter, Rogue, and Warrior. Shaman is missing, in part because everyone is bored of Evolve Shaman and because whatever other viable archetype can be made with the new cards is a Control archetype that will take time.
Even the "aggro" across these classes is highly variable. Recruit Paladin, Burn Mage, Midrange Hunter, Zoolock, Aggro Druid, are all quite different. Maybe except Corridor Creeper, which should be nerfed, but other than that, each has their own flavour.
And of course as has been said, Aggro is much much easier to get to work at the start of any expansion, by its nature. Control needs a meta to counter - Aggro just needs fast cards to go face with. Give it time.
Oh my, we found a messiah! So, pirate warrior was never OP, nerfs to Small-Time Buccaneer and Fiery War Axe were wrong! Fricking blizzard! All you needed to do is add 4 weapon-hate cards in your murloc paladin and thats all! You would've probably lose to any other deck, but hey - pirate warrior is OK, fair and square. BLIZZARD!!! HIRE THIS MAN I DARE YOU!!!! HE S A GOD OF LOGIC!!!!
"I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers' flames, their denizens fading without as much as a whimper. Entire planetary systems born and razed in the time that it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart devoid of emotion... of empathy. I. Have. Felt. Nothing. A million-million lives wasted. Had they all held within them your tenacity? Had they all loved life as you do?"

I mean small time nerf was very much needed, but fiery war axe nerf was kinda bullshit. Pirate warrior was dropping off naturally, and then blizzard fucking destroyed it. samething with murloc pally but warleader wasn't AS important so they're still doing good

Complaining about the meta when the meta doesn't even exist yet

Me neither

Face is the place.
Really? My 10 last games I played vs 1 aggro druid, 1 tempo rogue, 1 King rogue, the other 7 are control decks.

In my last 20 games I've faced 10 tempo decks and 10 control decks. I think it's looking very balanced in that aspect.

Join me at Out of Cards!
Of my last 10 games 8 were against priests and they aint aggro as far as I knows!!!
