Maybe that's a weird way to phrase it but anyone else feel the same way? I like the game, it's fun but I wish the art was more consistent and maybe the characters a bit more serious, some atleast. Like I feel like a lot of them are just caricatures of characters from the game. I want more deathwings instead of more leeroys. Characters that strike fear and add a less humorous element and more lore to the game. Maybe that just means more legendaries? Hope WotG's is what I'm looking for.
so you think a childrens online card game is silly based on the art that is there to appeal to multiple target audiences?
I know what you mean though, not everyone who plays hearthstone likes the cartoony artstyle. If you want to fix that just choose a class with more serious looking artstyles (druid is pretty serious but I haven't thought about it in detail recently) and stick to class cards. most of the cards aren't that comical/cartoony looking so I personally don't mind
No, it's a lighthearted game, always has been. No use complaining, nothing will change, and frankly, it doesn't matter in the first place.
And if you look at some of the art of full screen, you'll find a surprising amount of I could easily be mtg art. Spiteful smith and shadow flame fit right in magic. It's just that when they are slapped in a hearthstone card and played on a cartoonish looking board, they just look more cartoony.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
This has never been blizzard's way of delivering lore. If you don't enjoy cheesy as fuck punchlines and artworks then you're probably not much of a fan of their games as a whole.
Eh, I mean I definitely agree it's very "cartoony", but I honestly I kinda prefer it. There's too many seriously realistic fantasy games out there for me to want another one. Even Magic always struck me as generic looking and dull, though I know I'm in the minority there.
Though I suppose I wouldn't mind if it reigned it in a little bit. Be less a flat out parody of WoW.
The thing is, the setting of the game is a bunch of (presumably low level) NPC's playing a card game within WoW, using the heroes and villains of their world as cards and characters.

People who refuses to play aggro out of principle are even worse than people who play exclusively aggro.
One should seek to become a complete player and play all archetypes, including ones that he despises for whatever irrational reasons.

Not silly enough. Yogg will be a good change though.
