Rogue took a pretty big hit with the removal of Vannish from standard, it was pretty much their only reliable way of dealing with big boards (not to mention one of the few ways one could deal with "giant" and "big" decks) and because of this slower rogue decks suffer from having the power to outvallue pretty much anyone yet having no breathing room to actually use that vallue.
So looking for an alternative way to clear boards i experimented with running thalnos+van of knives, hooktusk, and even sharkfin fan+cannonball barrage, all however never as relliable as vannish was...
Until my eye fell upon Blade Flurry... a card that, after being used as cheap burst damage, has been nerfed into oblivion and yet still saw some very limited play in recently kingsbane decks. Now, offcourse i am aware of the major downside of blade flurry being reliant on and destroying your weapon and that because of this is almost never (cost) effective as a board clear.
But what if the weapon your sacrificing is a 2 mana 3/2 that always returns to your hand when it is destroyed? (I'm offcourse talking about the new hero power granted by the new rogue quest that upgrades your 1/2 knives into 3/2 swords.)
I'm not really convinced just yet but i'm willing to try it out.
What do you guys think?, Will having having an infinite suply of mana efficient weapons be enough to make blade flurry see play again? Or will rogues just have deal with having no boardclears because of "cLaSs IDeNtiTY"?
I think with the weapon itself and the rush minions like Underbelly Fence and Bazaar Mugger, along with lackeys, you should be able to control wide boards without flurry. But it is a considerable tech in option. We'll have to wait and see what kind of board scenarios become popular.
A 6 mana deal 3 damage to enemy minions is not great, and would only be available after completing your quest. Unfortunately your best bet for boardclears is thief cards like Hench-Clan Burglar
I think you miss the real value of the quest reward for rogue : being able to deal 3 damage to face every turn.
You don't care about board clear or value when you can smorc your opponent to death quickly. Or you can just control the board without taking damage. Remember Candleshot ? This is even better.
Rogue is fine without board clear since it got good single removal with Backstab, Sap or Vendetta
Rogue shouldn't have board clear, because the class itself should have weakness against enemy's wide board, every class has its own weakness even if they have variety deck archetypes. Vanish doesn't board clear, it just returns the enemy and stales the game.
No way to make easy board clear for Rogue, but you still have some fun new tools to try in the upcoming expansion like Shadow of Death and the new Quest.

Edit : Sorry for the double post
By the way, here is my silly but a true argument.

I like elementals and totems.
