Come in and Warm your Frozen Boots by the Fire!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gunnolf, and I am originally from the Land Down Under a.k.a. Australia. I am an avid gamer that has acquired a real passion for card games, which originated from my humble beginnings as a Yu-Gi-Oh collector and eventually grew from my dabbling in Cardfight Vanguard and Buddyfight, until we reached the game we know as Hearthstone.

I've played Hearthstone since the days of classic, with multiple accounts on both EU and NA servers. Despite having reached the Rank of Legend and my own personal mentality of equating 'having fun' with 'winning', I am not really a fan of meta power-grinding & net-decking, not that there is anything wrong with that. Therefore, I enjoy thinking about new, cool and fun deck ideas that push boundaries while also allowing you to win and those are what I want to share with you guys every-time I post a decklist.

I have presently become a contributing writer to WILDHS and will be posting articles there on a semi-regular basis, regarding deck-archetypes the status of the meta as well as how to get the most fun out of this game even if you aren't a big spender. If any of this sounds interesting, then I highly recommend that you check out of the website, as the writers and the owner himself are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet with great in-game knowledge (link to be website can be found HERE). You can also follow me on Twitter for latest updates.

If you genuinely like my content and would like to see me produce more of it, then please consider supporting me on Patreon. This is by no means necessary but it will definitely help me out in the long run. Thanks for Reading ^^

Deck Introduction

Hello my dear Readers and welcome back for another one of my special decks. I'll be honest, this started off as a Taunt Druid list featuring Hadronox and the beast package. However after playtesting, Hadronox turned out to be terrible (who knew!?) and after several more hours of theorycrafting, playtesting, disenchanting and recrafting Hadronox, I ditched her from the deck. Thus from the ashes of taunt druid (which I swear I will make work some day), a new hero deck emerged: Tempo Beast Druid. I am overall really enthusiastic about this archetype, as I finally managed to make it viable and fun with this list, thanks to the addition of some support cards from the Un'goro and Knights of the Frozen Throne expansions. So, without further ado it's time to look at some deck specifics.
(Please note that below I have included an alternate way to build the deck that involves Ramping up and some larger beast minions like Tyrantus and Malorne.)

Card Choices Explained

Below you'll find reasoning as to why certain cards were included in the present list. Keep in mind I will not list every single card, as that would make this section disproportionately long. If you have queries regarding cards included, that are not set out below, kindly leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

1) Power of the Wild: This is a solid buff card that also has the added utility of acting as an emergency beast summon, in the eventually that we are lacking a Mark of Y'Shaarj target.

2) Fandral Staghelm: He is generally, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the strongest Druid legendaries printed to date due to the nature of his interaction with the Choose One mechanic. This continues to hold true in this deck, as he interacts with a total of 15 cards (essentially half the deck), thus making him irreplaceable. The deck's power level without him is nowhere nearly as high.

3) Azure Drake: Just a fantastic card that offers card-draw, spell power (for ours Swipes) and the ability to run The Curator as an additional draw engine. All around powerhouse!

4) Nourish: This card is almost always used for its card-draw aspect, due to the fact that you usually play your minions on curve and are starved for reload. With the release of K&C Nourish can potentially be replaced by Branching Paths as they both work in a similar fashion albeit the latter has greater versatility.

5) Menagerie Warden: It would simply not be beast druid without the inclusion of this card. It's perfect for reloading your board post aoe, as even copying something as small as an Enchanted Raven provides a surplus of stats for cost over multiple bodies.

6) Sir Finley Mrrgglton: I go back and forth on this one quite a bit. It has draw synergy with The Curator and can replace your hero power with something potentially more useful, depending on the matchup. If you want to be a little bit more top heavy, then you can always replace him with Malfurion the Pestilent.

Additional Alternate Deckbuilding Option
(Ramp ~ Big Beast Druid)

So instead of creating an additional decklist on Hearthpawn (for the views and the clicks :p), where I just change about four to six cards, I decided to include the option in this decklist description so you can change them around, however you see fit.

As described in the section title, this is a ramp style beast druid that aims to take advantage of some of Druid's Bigger and Scarier Beasts, which if copied by Menagerie Warden will make your opponents tremble in fear:

-1x Sir Finley Mrrgglton / +1x Nourish

-x2 Mark of the Lotus / +x2 Wild Growth

-x2 Power of the Wild / +x2 Mire Keeper

-x2 Azure Drake / +1x Malorne & +1x Tyrantus

-1x The Curator / +1x Ultimate Infestation

Hopefully if you own any of these big fuzzy and loveable legendaries, then you can rejoice and enjoy playing them in the secondary list provided above ^^. However, I will once again advocate that the Ramp List provided is not nearly as strong as the original tempo variant (strictly viewing the decks from a competitive/laddering stand point).

Short Mulligan Guide

You always want to keep your early game minions like Enchanted Raven, Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Druid of the Swarm and Druid of the Saber.

Only keep Mark of Y'Shaarj if you have a 1-2 drop beast already in your hand. The same rule applies to Mark of the Lotus in so far as it should only be kept if you have concrete prospect of curving out properly.

You desperately want to curve out with this deck, so Enchanted Raven into Druid of the Swarm into Druid of the Flame is usually the best start you can have. Try not to waste Fandral Staghelm or play him too early unless you absolutely have to. Achieving even the smallest bit of value off of him can mean the difference between winning and losing.

Author's Notes

I enjoy deck-building a multitude of interesting decks that are both entertaining and Legend viable (with some odd Free-to-Play lists mixed in). So if you like this deck (or anyone of my other ones) consider leaving a thumbs up, as it really helps in the long run! :)

Thank you guys for all your support and if you have any suggestions, let me know.
