This deck takes the classic Mill Druid package of Naturalize, Coldlight Oracle, and Grove Tender, and combines them with the newer lategame powerhouses of N'Zoth and Hadronox (and now Flobbidinous Floop!) to create the ultimate late-game value deck. Mill your opponents cards, pull their combo pieces with Deathlord, and summon limitless waves of taunts and make your opponent ragequit.
THE GAMEPLAN
This deck has multiple win-conditions. Depending on what you're up against, your plan is going to change, and so is the way you use Flobbidinous Floop.
AGAINST AGGRO - Heal up, play taunts, crush your opponent's hopes and dreams with Spreading Plague. Your opponent has infinite Silver Hand Recruits? Doesn't matter. You have infinite board clears. Doomsayer, Deathlord, Swipe, Starfall, Spreading Plague, Primordial Drake. You never run out of ways to answer. You can even use Flobbidinous Floop for another Primordial Drake. Odd paladin is a joke. Moving on.
AGAINT CONTROL - Play Deathlord. Kill it. Shrink their deck. Play Hadronox. Wow! Deathlord's back! Shrink their deck again. Play N'Zoth, the Corruptor. Wow! Hadronox is back! More Deathlords! Shrink their deck. Still not enough? Don't worry. Play Flobbidinous Floop. Copy N'zoth's battlecry. Wow, another Hadronox! Best part? You have Branching Paths. If your board sticks, you can Savage Roar the opponent. Sweet.
AGAINST COMBO - Mill their combo pieces. Play Coldlight Oracle. Play Naturalize. Play Grove Tender. RIP Antonidas. Rip Sorcerer's Apprentice. That doesn't work? Deathlord. Pull the pieces from their deck. Flobbidinous Floop should be used to copy Coldlight Oracle.
AGAINST BURN - Malfurion the Pestilent. Yep, that's pretty much it. You have more healing with Rotten Applebaum and Branching Paths, but your opponent is going to draw their entire deck. Malfurion is the only way to beat all that burn. Sucks, but oh well. Use Grove Tender for mana in this match up, and Flobbidinous Floop should copy Applebaum I guess?
AGAINST MECHA'THUN - "But dude, if you're playing against Mecha'thun, doesn't milling them help? What if you miss their combo pieces? Don't you just lose???" Get this: you can save your mill cards. Hold onto Coldlight Oracle, save your Grove Tender, save your Naturalize, and as soon as they think they're about to win, BAM! 300 damage of fatigue, idiot. Flobbidinous Floop should copy Coldlight Oracle.
CARD CHOICES
1. Lesser Jasper Spellstone - 1 mana deal 6 damage. Good card.
2. Naturalize - This is it. This is why the deck exists. Destroy any minion and put your opponent two cards ahead in fatigue. Amazing. Save one for Hadronox to trigger its deathrattle right away, but beware of Skulking Geist.
3. Doomsayer - Good card. Play it on turn 2 to stop aggro in its tracks, or save it and combo it with Spreading Plague later.
4. Coldlight Oracle - This card is very important. It not only draws your opponent cards, but it allows you to draw without getting ahead in fatigue. This is your win condition against combos, and it's your Murloc activator for The Curator.
5. Deathlord - Also very important. Reviving this card over and over with Hadronox and N'Zoth, the Corruptor puts you so far ahead in fatigue and ruins combo decks. Don't keep against Big Priest, but keep against everything else.
6. Grove Tender - I played without this card in the deck for some time. Never again. Not only does it provide you with that essential early game, it makes all of your mill cards better. Grove Tender doesn't just overdraw one card, it overdraws the next one, and the one after that. Plus, she's cute. Play Grove Tender.
7. Branching Paths - Very good. Gives you 12 armor to activate Lesser Jasper Spellstone, lets you draw if your hand sucks, and you can use it to deal a ton of damage to your opponent after summoning a full board of taunts.
8. Flobbidinous Floop - The latest addition to the deck, and boy is he sweet. Copy the effect of Coldlight Oracle, N'zoth the Corruptor, or Hadronox and do more of the deck's favorite things.
9. Poison Seeds - Your big AoE effect. Combo it with Starfall or Spreading Plague, or just remove one big minion. Essential in some match-ups, mainly Big Priest. Keep this card in that match-up.
10. Swipe - Good card. Wrecks Odd Paladin. Next.
11. Rotten Applebaum - Replaces Sludge Belcher as your 5 mana taunt with deathrattle. Applebaum heals you for 4 every time it comes back, making you really hard to kill. Comes back with both Hadronox and N'zoth.
12. Starfall - Wrecks Odd Paladin and combos with Poison Seeds. Also can be used to remove one medium sized minion.
13. Spreading Plague - This card is AIDS. Play it.
14. The Curator - Play this card. Yes, it draws cards and you're a fatigue deck, but it fishes your two most important cards: Hadronox and Coldlight Oracle. The earlier you get Hadronox dead, the earlier you start reviving Deathlords and the more minions you pull from their deck, so it makes up for itself. It also has taunt and draws a taunt.
15. Malfurion the Pestilent - Yup. Play this card.
16. Primordial Drake - It's a board clear. It has taunt. It's your dragon activator for The Curator, but you don't need it. I like it tho.
17. Hadronox - And here he is. The man himself. This is the card that makes this deck competitive. Play it, fill your board with taunts, get it back with N'Zoth, the Corruptor. Your beast activator for The Curator.
18. N'Zoth, the Corruptor - Read above. Brings back Deathlord, Rotten Applebaum, and Hadronox.
Hi
Is Malfurion the Pestilent a must have for this deck o can be replaced?
Thanks :)
I guess it's theoretically playable without him, but he's so good I often keep him in my starting hand.
To bad, then i will wait till i can craft or i find one, thanks for the reply !
Interesting deck. My only suggestion would be to add Brann Bronzebeard instead of a Tree of Life and The Curator instead of a second drake. from my experience, two copies of tree is usually overkill, and the curator can pull 3 things in this deck. Technically this mills you, but you should still be able to win fatigue.
Brann only really combos with Coldlight Oracle. Not a huge fan of him.
Would it make sense to tech in a Jade Idol to go infinite? Could then put in Curator to draw Drake, Hadronox and Coldlight.
That would probably still work, but the reason I don't do it is because this deck's goal is to burn through the opponent's resources until you reach a point where you have stuff left and they don't. Jade Idol doesn't really contribute to that. It's just a dead card, and while it does delay the fatigue counter, it doesn't really matter because usually by the time you take one fatigue damage, the opponent is already dying. The one match-up where I can actually imagine it being good is against another fatigue deck, like Mill Rogue or Dead Man's Hand Warrior, but those decks will usually play Skulking Geist so Jade Idol wouldn't be effective anyway.
The Curator is a decent idea though, and I was playing it at one point even before I added Hadronox to the deck. The fact that it thins your deck is not actually a problem. It just turns out the extra draw is unnecessary.
after u take legend mb i use it :D
Winrates? Ranks archived? Some more info on how good it is would be awesome.
Last season this was what I used to get rank 5. It was super easy, basically winstreaked the whole way. I don't try to get Legend every season, just rank 5 for the golden epic, but I've gotten Legend with a bunch of homebrew decks and this one's definitely good enough to get there.
Edit:
I don't collect stats either, but I did receive an email from Blizzard after the season restarted and according to that my Druid had 80% winrate vs. Priest.
